Chapter 1:Announcement!
Hey guys, I know I could have wrote this in a message below but this is too important of an announcement, so making sure everyone notices it.
So... After I've caught up to where I was before I put this story on hiatus (Those who read this on RRL would have a better understanding of where I mean) and properly edited these next few chapters. I'm going to be handing this story to a friend of mind in my writing group.
The reason? My interest in writing Battlefield Restart has waned over time. The only reason I picked it up again was because it's the only story I wrote past chapter 20 and am kinda fond of it.
I'm not sure how many times I've repeated this but I'm saying it again just in case: When I began to write Battlefield Restart, I was just your average teen who wanted to write a story I though was close to Jobless Reincarnation and Chivalry of the Failed Knight.
There wasn't any fore-planning on my end as I was making it up as I went along~
It was fun to write this at first since I was really interested in writing a story about a soldier reincarnated into another world with all his character flaws and strengths intact...
However, I slowly started to notice that not many readers liked my way of writing compared to other...
While I get bored from putting the story to the side in order to give s boatload of exposition about powers and stuff... It seems most readers like that sort of thing... There aren't many who like the mysteriousness of his abilities I was trying to convey (This part only applying to Qidian readers who are used to reading fictional magic science and find it interesting) nor do they like how I gave him flaws he had to improve on. I like character development after all and my opinion is that you can't develi a character if they don't have flaws that can be improved.
I never wanted to write a protagonist of the 'Hero' archetype when I first started writing this because I'm a deeply cynical person (Who isn't, am I right~?) and also wanted the MC to be an unreliable narrator to his story.
To me, changing perspectives really helped flesh out the character since the reader would be able to notice subtle differences between the MC's thoughts and what others think. (I even added the details of him once being a compulsive liar to make my point even clearer. Some thought I was just rambling on about unnecessary backstory but it was a big hint that probably no one understood...)
Moving on, after chapter 40 of this story... I'm going to be going back to drawing board to create a new story. (Not sure how that'll work out but I'm sure I'll have more fun writing THAT than this.)
The person who will be taking over the story from that point onwards will be the writer of Solitary Sword Sovereign, Conclave of Tyrants, Titan's Throne and etc. He's a guy with vastly more writing experience than me and is really good at writing intriguing plots I'm sure you'll all come to enjoy.
This story of mine has always been a weird mix of Xianxia tropes and western RPG world tropes since I basically created a power system that is both flexible and simple.
My style of writing has always been to amplify scenes where characters interact up to eleven and keeping the MC's abilities to the side since they were merely a stepping stone for more character development throughout the story. A way of writing that is both chaotic and sometimes all over the place since I don't write a story: I write a Main character dealing with problems that are outside of his control.
This could be seen from how much of an asshole I am to my MC by constantly throwing potential enemies on him without giving him time to rest... I'm the type who writes reactive main characters rather than the kind who have full control over everything...
Also, I'm dyslexic so my grammar has always been horrible...
As for 'PatriarchOnion' who will be taking over... I'm not quite sure of his writing style but his stories are way more interesting than anything I could come up with. I really respect him and how he is easily able to write more chapters in a day than I do in a month!
Thank you for reading~! It was my pleasure to bring you this strange story~! :P
