He jumped onto the ground and rushed to pick up the eggs, lest someone would come and demanded it back.

When he came back, he saw a pool of blood on the ground and wondered, “Who bled here?”

Lin Lan woke up. Listening to Sanwang’s voice, she wondered if this silly child had been beaten up to the point of mental disability.

She quickly got dressed and got up, deciding not to wake the other children up and letting them sleep a little longer.

“Mother, look, eggs!” Sanwang’s eyes were bright.

Maisui turned on the stove and Erwang filled the pot with water, the two siblings cooperating tacitly.

First, they poured the boiling water into the china jar that Lin Lan had bought and  intended to cool it from then, supplying them enough water to drink all day. Then, they had also prepared the soup with some veggies as the base and warmed up the pancakes.

Lin Lan asked the children to share the soup among them and insisted to Sanwang, “Don’t get wet. If you get wet, the wound will become inflamed and then, your fever will kick in and burn your head to a crisp.”

Sanwang was startled, “WIll it truly rot?”

Maisui laughed at him, “You idiot, won’t it be okay if you don’t get wet?”

“But I’ll sweat!” Sanwang exclaimed.

Erwang, “Just lie down still and shake that fan towards your head— you won’t sweat then.”

When she was going to work after breakfast, the doctor stopped by to see Sanwang. Seeing him jumping around, he smiled and said, “Children are truly sturdy; everything will be fine after a good night’s sleep. Adults aren’t that easy to deal with.”

He was talking about Han Jinbao.
