Strongest Shinobi

After spending a long time in the hospital, Izana could finally leave after his chakra had recovered and his chakra chanels were stable. When he walked through the village, the usual hateful eyes had become those of pity, as the news of Itachi killing more than half of his clan was spread through the village.

The Uchiha had become more drawn back from the village affairs and had started to bond a lot more with their offspring. The act of becoming stronger was fixed in the younger generations mind as Izana could see them train beyond their limits.

Even young Sasuke wasn't excluded as he wanted to be strong enough to chase after Itachi and find out his reason for attacking the clan.

It was moments like this that made it hard for Izana to remain passive, as he had to refrain himself from speaking.

After spending a training session with Sasuke, who was thrilled at having Izana teach him how to make his kunai change directions while in the air, Izana was called by an Anbu from the Third. It wasn't that surprising as he still had to report how the mission went, though the third had gotten a clear idea from Jiraiya.

Following the Anbu to the Hokage's office, Izana was let inside immediately where he was greeted by the Third and Jiraiya. The latter motioned for him to start, so Izana did. He spoke of how the mission progressed right up till his massacre of the enemy nin and escape from Ame.

After that everything was already known. After all, the Third did have a hand in it.

"What is going to happen to Danzo? He betrayed the village."

Izana said, a slight sliver of anger and hatred in his voice. Glancing at him, Jiraiya warned him with his eyes to keep his emotions to himself.

Restraining himself, Izana still wanted an answer.

"Danzo will be handled by myself. Anbu will be placed to monitor him and if he should ever fall out of line again, I will know. Don't worry about Danzo. He will be punished if something like this happens again. For now, his Root division has been dismattled."

Still not satisfied with the results, Izana glowered a bit, but still accepted the Thirds decision. If his Root were dismantled, then he wouldn't have anymore hands and feet around the village. His means of spreading discord would be detained to the minimum.

"Understood."

Izana said as he couldn't do anything more about Danzo without the Thirds permission.

The Third nodded and cast his gaze on Jiraiya.

"Jiraiya, I trust you to investigate where we had been talking about before."

Jiraiya nodded, his gaze serious as he left the office not that long after.

"Izana-kun. I understand your misgivings about Danzo, but let me take care of it. This will not happen again, I assure you."

The Third said, taking a few long breaths from his pipe. He seemed to take this matter extremely serious, as he seemed as upset about it as Izana was. If he looked closely, Izana could even see him having become a lot more older over the days.

"Then I will trust you to do so, Hokage-sama. Though I can't speak for my people. The previous incident and the deaths of so many of us have made them anxious. Even if they trust you, Hokage-sama, they won't trust Danzo anymore, so keep him away from the Uchiha."

Having said his piece, Izana left the office only to see Danzo walking towards the office with an angry look in his eyes.

Izana smirked as he tapped his right eye, glad to see the man glowering back at him.

Danzo's hands twitched as he subconsciously grabbed his aching arm.

While continuing his gloating, Izana left the Hokage building.

"Hiruzen! What were you speaking about with the Uchiha brat! He dares to mock me."

Danzo said as he burst into the Hokage's office.

The Third sighed as he stared intently at Danzo.

"I don't know what you are planning Danzo, but I can assure you that as long as I am Hokage, you will not touch the Uchiha or the Jinchuriki."

The Third said as he took a deep breath from his pipe.

"I have delayed this matter for too long. Your actions have gone too far Danzo, even for me. The Root will be disbanded and your right to assembled them has been revoked. If word comes out you have left the village, I will take action. If word comes out you have laid your hands on the Uchiha, I will take action. And if word comes out you are planning to do something to Uzumaki Naruto, I will take action. Am I clear, Danzo?"

Danzo glared in anger at the Third.

"Our friendship can only protect you this much. Don't seek my bottom line again Danzo. If I notice you are conspiring with other villages, you will be dealt with like how we deal with traitors."

The Third said.

"This will not end well Hiruzen! You know it. Once something happens, don't come running to me!"

Danzo said, his fury obvious to all.

Having said what he wanted to say, Danzo burst out of the Hokage's office wile fumming in rage.

'Blasted Uchiha! Blasted Uchiha brat! This will not be the last of it!'

Danzo thought as he rushed back to the Root underground base.

Kneeling there on the ground were his Root Anbu, his personal army.

"The Root has been disbanded. This does not mean you are not under my command. Listen to what the Hokage says, but don't forget my orders. Keep an eye on Uchiha Izana and if there comes a time he is in peril, don't hesitate to strike him down! He is a threat to the village!"

Danzo said, with the Anbu replying in unison.

"Understood."

The Anbu all disappeared from the underground base as they went towards the Hokage's office to receive their assignments on where they would be stationed.
