257 Offering the cure for a price

Lilith stared at Vincent as she felt a hand touching her hip and led to the chair as if he was her dancing partner. She sat on the chair with a delicious plate of food in front of her.

“But, but...” She resisted eating before Vincent summoned another pair of cutlery, cut the meat, and said, “Open wide, here comes the meat.”

Lilith’s will didn’t last long, and she caved in. One of her wishes to be hand-fed by a handsome man came true. Even if by chance she was being lied to, Lilith hoped his words of not minding her body were true.

A while later, Lilith looked better after eating the food and drinking many cups of water. Her complexity became much healthier, and she even raised a small smile.

“May... may I ask your name? Even if you perhaps told me in our previous encounter, I only heard a few words of your... your manly voice.” Lilith said.

“Nice to see a smile on your face Lilith. My name is Vincent, and my surname is Agius, but I am not a noble. I came here with the hope to rescue you after Maid Xu begging me to save you.”

Vincent lowered on one knee and grabbed her hand. He looked into her eyes and announced.

“I want to become a noble, so I need a noble to marry. I talked a lot with your maid, and I feel you are a wonderful woman to have as a wife. You see, displaying kindness even in a terrible situation isn’t a thing everyone can do. People normally take their frustration on someone else.”

“Lilith Lionheart, will you marry me? I can let you live with your parents if you wish. Or become my fifth woman if you desire to be with me. It will be your choice in the end. But I will take you out of nightmare this today no matter if you accept my proposal or not.”

.....

Vincent popped the question to book a future marriage and marry her when the spot would become open.

Lilith looked unhappy and became suspicious of Vincent. “Did my husband send you here to play with my heart? Even you have betrayed my trust...” Lilith grabbed the knife and was about to kill herself.

Vincent grabbed her arm quickly and took away the knife. “Don’t you dare do anything like this in my presence ever again! What about your parents or Maid Xu? What about those left behind? ” He scolded her.

“Isn’t it better than becoming your fifth plaything? I suffered so much, and now my knight in shining armor is a slave trader... I can’t live like this anymore... no wonder you wanted me even if I look this ugly.” Lilith gave up on Vincent.

His words made Lilith doubt his credibility and gave the impression of being there to play a horrible game with her. Lilith might escape one cage just to go in another.

“I never had the luxury to take away my life because my maid saved me every time. I always regretted making her sad, but as I give up, I try again...” Tears started welling in her eyes.
“Don’t cry. I am not as you say. I honestly like looking at your face with your golden hair, clear blue eyes gleaming behind a pair of glasses, and an attractively cute face.”

Vincent extended his hand and picked her tears with his index finger.

“I can offer you a lot, Lilith Lionheart. If you become my woman, not just in the eyes of the law, but my woman for real, I will take care of you because you become my treasure. I treat all my women equally and respectfully, unlike what happened to you.”

“Ohh! And about the adultery part.” Vincent raised a smile and continued, “You are about to become a widow today, but I guess you didn’t hear me the first time I said it.”

???????????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????????????????????-????????????.????????????

Lilith stared at Vincent with a puzzled frown. She became confused by the enormous statement of killing a Viscount. Lilith thought she had heard the word kill before, but she thought it was a dream.

“Don’t worry. The plan is already in motion. Maid Xu with two surviving adventurers went to report about what happened.”

Vincent remembered how she might not know what happened, so he informed her.

“Demel made a fake quest. He reported that you were kidnapped, and your maid said how she couldn’t find you anywhere. Your maid then went with the group sent to bring you back.”

“But” *Sigh~* “Maid Xu was about to become a pleasure slave and the other two survivors as well. The male adventurers were all killed.”

Lilith felt shocked from hearing what could have happened to Maid Xu.

“When I arrived...” Vincent frowned and expressed anger. “I killed twelve of Demel’s private guards that work here. I only met with five guards in this room. But there must be another one hidden somewhere.”

Lilith shivered at the mention of death. The man she fantasized about for being kind to her had killed a lot of people.

Vincent got up and gave her a head pat. “Think of nothing and hide here. I will end your and your family’s misery for good. Your father was worried about you. He was about to cry when I mentioned your name.” Vincent waved his hand and started heading for the door to leave.

[Is the show over? Come on! I want to see more. Even Wolfie and Freerie are patently looking at how the show is going to end.]

-Lilith suffered too much to make a decision about her future.-

“My father? How is my father? Maid Xu told me a lot of rumors about my father. Are they true?” Lilith worried about two things. The first was that Vincent wouldn’t answer, and the second was terrible news.

“Your father is now known as the truthful lion. But because he never lets anyone check his condition stat, no one knows how he is cursed to say the truth or he would die.” Vincent answered.

“I... ”

“I thought something bad happened to my parents, but not this bad... so I wasn’t enough... they had to do that to my parents.” Lilith looked at Vincent with tears welling in her eyes and asked, “Do you know if anything happened to my mother?”

“Your father didn’t tell me if anything has happened to her. I’m sorry.” Vincent apologized.

“Did you mention a hidden guard... will you save them too? Will you end our nightmare today?” Lilith asked.

“Who? Are there more people locked in a wardrobe?” Vincent tried to lighten the mood.

Lilith crossed her arms and shivered while informing, “I saw three children, an elf and a demon, in a damp, dark room lit by one light gemstone. The demon looked like she was beaten so close to death. Her state was scarier than her presence. They took me from that place and locked me here today...”

“Even children? He sells even children!” Vincent clenched his fists, and his bloodlust ran rampant. Lilith became so intimidated and afraid that it became difficult to breathe.

[Close your eyes and calm down. You might kill Lilith if you don’t stop.]

Vincent controlled his anger and rushed to check on Lilith. “I am sorry for scaring you.”

“I know! How about a sweet boiled apple still warm?” He said before summoning a cup with warm boiled apples.

“I made a few of these. Take one as my apology. I can give you more if you like. An apple a day keeps the doctor away, so you need to eat a lot and become healthy.” Vincent patted her head once again.

Lilith started to like the head pat. She wanted it to last longer, but Vincent stopped after it got good. The fragrant smell rising from the cup soon caught all her attention, and her eyes locked on the cup with light steam rising from it.

“Why are you making me fat? Didn’t you say you liked how I looked? This cup with apple pieces will make me at least one or two kilos heavier.” Lilith gently pushed the cup away from her even if drool slid from her lips. However, she didn’t lie. Her condition made her gain weight uncontrollably.

“What would you do if, let us say, someday you can eat normally and have children?” Vincent asked.

“I don’t know... I have had so many dreams in the past ten years that I can’t imagine what I would do anymore... I reached my limit of imagination...” Lilith replied with a sad expression.

“Okay then. Let’s change the question. What would you do if I could cure your condition? Would you keep the secret of the process to your grave? Would you follow me if it’s part of the condition?” Vincent stated.

Lilith stared at him for quite some time. She didn’t know if he was joking or if his statement was true.

Lilith read many books about healing and sickness spells with the hopes of one day awakening into a healer or getting a healing trait no one knew about. Lilith couldn’t find what she was suffering from because her possessions had to be inspected and accepted.

Thus, Lilith couldn’t possess even a low-grade Inspection Gemstone to check her ailment and had to suffer to know what was happening in her body.

“Show me proof. I want to trust your words... but please don’t lie to me... I can’t take it anymore. What happened the past few days made me want to give up...” Lilith showed how she was extremely stressed and depressed.
