307 Can I take a look at your treasures?

Vincent smirked, but he didn’t reply. He straightened his back and asked Sakura, “Could I hear the details now?”

Sakura nodded with a pair of blushing cheeks. The mood surrounding them changed from one of uncertainty to one of acceptance.

Sakura was still bewildered after Vincent finally took the lead and performed a breathtaking steamy act. Well, green steam, to be exact.

“The workshop will be about the size of a small house. It will be ten meters wide on all sides. It will also have the first floor to be used as a resting area or a storage room.” Sakura turned her head and pointed, “The wall will also be improved, he told us.”

“Improved?” Vincent asked. Kazumi was also intrigued by these words.

“I heard him say how the wall will have a second layer of stone from the outside, and the height of the wall will increase up to ten-meter tall. The gate, however, will remain the same.” Sakura informed.

[That sounds great. I bet Byron doesn’t know who actually destroyed the wall, hehe.]

[Those who learned what happened from rumors should think that the wall was destroyed in order for the attackers to escape instead of being destroyed you.]

.....

-I was thinking something along those lines.-

-A taller wall will make us feel safer since there is only one entry point.-

“Do you know when they will start?” Vincent asked.

“They should start tomorrow. But Vincent...” Sakura said. Her voice became lighter as she tried to act like an embarrassed petite girl. Well, Sakura still looked menacing. She resembled an obvious dangerous honey trap. One where all the bones would be crushed when one indulges in romance.

“Does it mean I am officially your woman now? Does it mean there is a man that loves this ugly oni? Does it mean I will not be ostracised because of my ugly hard body and never taste betrayal ever again?” Sakura asked multiple questions.

It revealed her state of mind. How she was constantly afraid, yet she wanted what Ester, Lupa, Iris, and Lilith were having. She wanted a partner that accepted her, both her body and her rough tomboyish personality.

“Why would I go to the trouble of breaking the code to only love women who will become mine if you weren’t already my woman?” Vincent asked as he approached Sakura.

“The moment we were both undecided, and the moment you” *cough* “embraced me, was the moment I decided to make you, the strong and attractive oni who acts like a demon to become mine.” He said.

“Hey. What does acting as a demon mean? I am trying to act as petite and reserved as possible. I am not a brute.” Sakura didn’t like hearing she acted like a demon because it signified how rough she looked and acted. A new word to stay away from was placed in the not-to-say list.

[Note to self. Never tell Sakura that she, an oni who is a variant of the demon race, is acting like a demon. Who knows, maybe someone will receive another slap, I mean, pat on the back.

*Cough* “Let me help you cover pits and make the ground flat. While we are at it, I can store a couple of trees for later use as well. I tried storing planted trees before, but only unplanted ones are unrestricted. It is similar to how I had to dig the plants with the soil around them to store them in a perfect condition.” Vincent said to try and change the possible dangerous subject.

Vincent summoned two shields and handed them to Sakura. “I don’t have shovels, and I don’t know where to find a pair in this place. But we can use these shields the soldiers dropped instead. It will be better than kicking the soil to fill the holes, hehe.” He chuckled at his ingenuity.

Sakura nodded and received a shield. Soon both of them proceeded to fill the small pits back. Later they placed the shields on the newly covered pits and used the weight of their bodies to press and flatten the ground.

*Two hours later*

Two hours flew by, Vincent and Sakura became much closer while helping each other and sometimes making a mistake which in turn would make the other person and Kazumi laugh.

Afterward, Vincent frowned as he could only store a couple of trees because his Soul Dimensional Storage became full.

Vincent turned his gaze at Sakura and noticed she was acting more unreserved than two hours ago. He assumed the Soul Synch stat should have increased. Curiosity got the better of him, so he decided to check.

“Sakura, it seems you have both accepted me and accepted being around me. ” Vincent said. It made Sakura look at him with a puzzled frown.

“You see, I have a stat that shows how much we are fit for one another. I think it calculates how we feel for each other after we accept even the tiniest thing we consider a defect.” Vincent explained. Then he raised a smile and added, “It was ten percent two hours ago. Now it is twenty-one percent.”

“Is it called Soul Synch, perhaps? I heard it from the animal-eared woman, Lupa, was she? Well, I heard her boast how she doesn’t mind other women being with you because she was the first to reach fifty percent and has a wolf pup.” Sakura replied.

Vincent didn’t want to lie to anyone he cared for. He wanted Sakura to know about Soul Synch, as he had informed Iris when they were rushing to the cave where the goblins stayed. However, his worries were all for naught as Sakura seemed to know about Soul Synch from the boasting Lupa and she didn’t look bothered.

“So, how do you feel about this subject? I know it can not change our relationship as it is simply a value meter, yet it could make people who like privacy hate me...”

“The red hair human. Ester, was she? Lupa and the quiet goblin don’t seem to mind. So I don’t need to worry then, correct?” Sakura interrupted. “And about the wolf pup part, was it the one I saw in the darkness?” She then asked.

“Yes. I am not sure if the little wolf from Lupa and the butterflies from Ester were born after reaching fifty percent Soul Synch, but there might be other conditions for a soul pet to be born from our soul bond, but who knows.” Vincent informed.

“Can I take a look at your treasures? I am excited to see them.” Sakura suddenly asked. She didn’t blush and spoke without any nervousness. However, the words ‘your treasure’ could mean many things such as.

[Does Sakura want to take a peek at your balls?... I mean family jewels? If so, the situation escalated quite fast, I say, hehe.]

“W-what do you mean so suddenly?” Vincent stuttered after Kazumi filled his head about a possible misinterpretation.

Sakura smiled and rubbed her hands together. She looked both excited and interested in whatever she called treasures.

“You know, those two small things you have. ” Sakura said. She approached Vincent until there wasn’t much distance between them. She lowered on one knee and extended one hand. It looked like she wanted to receive the said treasures in her hand.

[My, my. Sakura sure is bold, hehe.]

[Okay, I looked around, and there is no one nearby. You can show her your family...]

“Can I touch them too? I want to feel their texture and hold them. ” Sakura added more certainty to the steamy situation. It might not be a misinterpretation after all.

*Sigh* “Fine. Let me show them to you if you want to see them this badly.” Vincent moved his hands and grabbed his pants. The moment he was about to pull his pants down...

“I want to see how people from your world can tell the time, and I also want to see the fire starter device I heard about. ” Sakura said. Her intentions were revealed, and it was a misinterpretation on Kazumi’s side.

[...]

“...”

Vincent and Kazumi both froze from the huge misinterpretation both arrived at from hearing such words accompanied with such actions. The treasure Sakura meant was different and on a whole new level.

“S-sure...” Vincent stuttered. He quickly showed Sakura the watch and the smartphone. Then he retreated a few steps back and took a silent deep breath.

[Sorry... My bad.]

Kazumi felt terrible for what she suggested.

-I didn’t embarrass myself, so don’t feel guilty.-

“This watch object is impeccable. It is telling the time accurately since we heard the fourteenth bell ring not too long ago.” Sakura said while inspecting every nook and cranny of the watch.

Vincent cleared his thoughts and looked at the watch. “This is a basic cheap model. Some watches can even allow distant communication or have life-saving features. But the technology in my world is different and advanced than this world. Replications might be impossible.” He explained.

“That’s sad...” Sakura sounded devastated, yet she raised the smartphone next. Sakura inspected every nook and cranny, yet she felt confused about the feature to cause a fire. There was no exit point to cause a fire.

“How does this device make a fire? I heard how you instantly created fire as if it was a fire spell.” Sakura asked. She hoped the smartphone could at least be replicated if it simply started a fire.
