330 Workshop construction delay

Vincent saw the herbs shop he visited before. “I will bring you here next time. ” He said after stopping a few meters away from the shop.

“I can wait.” Iris didn’t mind. In fact, she felt happy to be asked for another date.

“Iris, how are you feeling after the situation we had with the thugs? ” Vincent worried Iris was still feeling troubled.

Iris moved her gaze from left to right. There weren’t many people nearby as the herb shop was the only shop in the street.

“I feel better, thank you.” Iris smiled, revealing her cute dimples. “B-but do I cost five human cities?” She asked nervously.

“No. ” Vincent answered.

“...” Iris stopped smiling and didn’t utter a single word after she heard Vincent answer with a straight face.

Vincent gave Iris a head pat and reassured the worrying Iris, “I never had the intentions of selling you. Iris, you are priceless to me, yet some people want to know how valuable you are to me. So I stated a price no one can afford.”

“How about thinking of a price for me while we go back home? ” Vincent asked.

.....

Iris lowered her head and started pondering deeply. She gave the impression of doing a significant task.

Vincent smirked. He had to lead Iris back to their home as she was in autopilot mode from deep thinking. Iris followed without being nervous about people looking at them.

[I am intrigued to hear what value or... pfff... how many plants you are worth, hahaha.]

-Kazumi, did you forget that since you live inside me, my value will be shared with your value? If I am worth two bananas, then your worth is the same.-

[...]

Kazumi joined Iris’s silent club as both didn’t utter a word while heading home.

Later, Vincent and Iris arrived in front of their home. He met with the twins, and they informed him about the construction delay, and the builders left earlier than expected.

A great gray wolf attacked the transport, and they suffered small yet hindering time-consuming damage to the transport wagons. On the other hand, the magic beast only injured its head before fleeing.

Vincent thanked the twins and entered the property. “The world tree. Vincent is like the world tree to me.” He heard Iris say.

[I wonder how big this world tree is for Iris to spend so much time pondering about how much she values you.]

“World tree?” Vincent was curious about what this world tree was all about.

“It is a tree of legends. A tree born by the hands of a someone we refer to the guide of life.” Iris explained. She raised a smile and looked up at the sky. “It is said the tree is as large as the world itself, and its roots traverse all over the world. The world tree allows us to return to the earth and helps us to be reborn in our next lives.”
[A guide of life? So it means a druid who most probably was a goblin grew a large tree...]

[The east continent is referred to as the jungle continent! The book of heroes had a reference about how life returned to a continent all of a sudden.]

“Iris. You are also a guide of life. The druid who made the world tree was like you based on what Kazumi and I can gather.” Vincent took a few steps toward the mansion and continued, “Are you going to stay there? Do not let this world tree stay without his guide of life.”

Iris felt relieved Vincent liked her answer. However, she was confused about being a guide of life. ‘I am a druid. I can’t control life like the legend.’ Iris thought before following Vincent.

*Whoosh* The moment Vincent and Iris arrived, the moment Ester, Lupa, and Sakura welcomed them back, Iris was whisked away to where the immobile sore Lilith was resting on a chair to hear about the date.

[Haha. Performance assessment in the morning and date analysis in the evening.]

“...” Vincent didn’t know how to answer without hearing Kazumi teasing about how lucky he is all because of the Cupid Kazumi offering suggestions as if she was the player of a romance dating sim and Vincent the main character.

Later, after Vincent entered inside, he met with Sofy and Maid Xu. Behind them were and the three little girls wearing finished maid outfits. They informed him the dinner was almost ready after greeting with a smile. Well, Maid Xu slightly raised her lips.

Vincent handed the clothes he bought for Sakura and asked if she could help if the clothes required modifications. Next, Vincent gave the three little girls a head pat and left to find a place to train before eating.

‘I need to master the domination aura and how to control the powerful intent. I can’t always depend on the mutation to save me.’ Vincent thought. He was afraid of becoming too dependant on the mutation powers.

Vincent treated the mutation as if it was a separate entity, yet he forgot the most crucial thing. The mutation in the end assimilated with his body, and it has become a part of him, whether he likes it or not.

Soon he met Olive and Lian playing with Tusk in the garden. Both demigoblin kids greeted Vincent with a beaming smile and waved to approach them.

“Look, look. Tusk likes eating grass.” Olive pointed at Tusk lying lazily on the ground and chewing on grass.

“This boar is very funny, haha.” Lian laughed after seeing the boar’s tail wag when Vincent approached to see what they were doing.

[It looks like I got accustomed to living here. But where is Nix?]

“Kids, where is the condor Nix?” Vincent was curious as well.

“Kitchen.” Olive answered while Lian chuckled and added, “Nix looks happy it sees fire.”

[So Nix loves warmth. Well, Yula can take care of Nix while Tusk doesn’t look too bothered on who takes care of it.]

Vincent gave the kids a head pat and told them he was going to exercise before the food is ready. Olive and Lian resumed watching the chubby Tusk lazily chewing grass while Vincent exercised a few meters away from them.

Sakura approached half an hour later. She saw the kids playing, and not too far from them was Vincent doing pushups. ‘I feel nervous.’ She thought.

Vincent stopped after Kazumi said.

[Sakura, oh, my.]

His eyes soon saw Sakura wearing the outfit he had purchased. The outfit was fitted on her body because of the laces, yet it didn’t appear to bother her. The outfit made the tall oni with an athletic build look attractive by revealing her curves and enough skin from the sides to complement her natural beauty.

“How do I look?” Sakura asked after she saw Vincent looking at her without saying a word.

“Beautiful yet bad. Many men might try to steal you from me.” Vincent answered.

Sakura blushed. She looked at Olive and Lian. “Let me take you.” She lifted the two kids and Tusk as if they were a feather and left.

[Sakura is learning to act petite and innocent, yet she had to lift the kids and place them on her shoulders as if they were soft toys.]

“Hehe.” Vincent chuckled. He wiped his sweat and went to eat.

Later, after Vincent ate dinner and saw Sakura blush from multiple compliments about how the clothes made her look attractive, Lupa followed Vincent to the bedroom.

Plow didn’t look too happy that she had to leave Vincent alone with her rival in attention. However, in the end, she had to wait outside the bedroom with her cheeks puffed.

Plow remained pouting until she later entered the bedroom, crawled on the bed, and happily slept on her warm bed.

*Day 72*

*Pho, pho*

“He is mine.”

“No, bed mine.” *Pho*

Vincent was woken up after he heard Lupa and Plow quarreling. He opened his eyes and saw Lupa holding his numb right arm tightly and Plow pouting on his stomach.

[Moring popular guy. The girls are fighting on who you like the most.]

-And how did it come to this?-

[Well, it started when Plow dropped a bomb by saying how you love her soft tails.]

-...-

*Sigh* Vincent sighed. He was a prisoner on the bed as Lupa didn’t let his right arm go, and Plow refused to move away from his stomach. In the end, he had to spend the first few minutes of the morning to stop their little quarrel.

Lupa and Plow became happy. Plow heard Vincent say good things about her tail, while Lupa heard about a flower that could grow fur. However, Vincent needed to inform Iris not to mention the ten-year growth time.

Vincent, Lupa, and Plow went downstairs. Soon the lineup of performance assessors locked their gaze on Lupa, and she was whisked away by Ester, a grinning Lilith, a blushing Sakura, and Iris raising a thumbs all of a sudden.

[Don’t worry about Golden Dew Lily. I quickly told Iris never to specify a date. I told her to always vaguely say how it should take a few months to grow, I think.]

Vincent understood the reason why. He looked at Plow, lifted her, and did his usual routine of going to the kitchen with and meeting the kids, Yula, Tula, Maid Xu, and Sofy.

Vincent ate breakfast with them and enjoyed his food in a peaceful environment.

[My mate. Date. Date.]

“Huh?” Vincent thought it was Kazumi joking in Lupa’s voice, but as he turned his head, he saw Lupa in her white wolf form wagging her tail and moving her head to follow him.
