363 Arriving at the village that needs help

Sakura wore a pair of gloves to hide the skin of her hands. She also wore a large modified hooded robe, but it looked patched and unfinished. It appeared Maid Xu had to enlarge an ordinary robe to hide Sakura’s unpainted skin with clothes, in little time.

[Sakura looks different with green skin, but she is still threatening. I hope the soldiers will let us pass with no problems.]

-I can flaunt my golden identification card in their face and act arrogant like a bigshot.-

[Yeah, acting like a bigshot will help us pass with no problems, I hope.]

“Sakura, you look different. ” Vincent said. He smiled and teased, “But I like your lavender skin better. I like it when you blush, hehe.”

Sakura blushed, yet the heavy makeup covered the redness of her skin. However, her gaze made it evident she liked the compliment.

“How about we prepare for departure? The quicker my lady leaves, the quicker my lady can return.” Maid Xu said. A frown soon appeared on her face. “Nut Lord Vincent, I hope my lady will not have a scratch on her when she returns.”

Vincent shrugged his shoulder. “I don’t mind a scar here and there.” He turned around to stop looking and the frowning maid and went to the kitchen. A smirk appeared on his face when he heard Maid Xu beg Lilith to be careful.

Later, all the food Yula prepared was in his storage, the five wives were prepared, and Sofy with the carriage was waiting for them to leave. Plow sat on Vincent’s shoulder while Zero was on Iris’s head. It appeared Zero liked staying with Iris.

.....

Tula threw a tantrum when she wasn’t going to see Plow for a few days. Her mother scolded her for not behaving and asked the five little children asked to play with her daughter.

Vincent sat beside the coachwoman Sofy. Plow sat on his lap and turned her head. She saw Tula with tears in her eyes and waving as if it was going to be their last time seeing each other.

“Plow will play with Tula Tula later. Plow promises.” *Pho, pho* Plow told Tula. Her words made Tula smile. The little girl in an adult body accepted to wait and snuggle with Plow until she had to go to the academy.

Sofy used her whipping technique to gently yet submissively whip the horses to move. *~neigh~* The three horses began moving the carriage and listened to Sofy’s instructions.

Vincent and Kazumi could do nothing but stare awkwardly at Sofy driving.

*West Gate*

Sofy stopped the carriage in front of the gate. She looked at Vincent and thanked him for the company.

Vincent sat beside Sofy instead of his wives. He chatted with Sofy about the new lifestyle change and how she felt. Sofy felt pleased she wasn’t forgotten as he was the first man not to look at her without lustful thoughts.

Sofy saw Vincent, Ester, Lupa, Iris, Lilith, and the hooded Sakura wave at her. Sofy smiled pleasantly and waved her whip. The horses moved as instructed, and the carriage left.

“Sofy is a strong woman to drive a carriage.” Lilith respected the courage Sofy had to control three horses at once and after a few lessons.

“Humph! I brought the horses to our home. They listened to me when I looked at them. I am a strong woman too. ” Lupa crossed her arms and pouted.

Iris was the only one amongst them who knew how Lupa threatened the horses into submission to follow her commands. However, she wasn’t going to reveal what happened.

“Hahaha. Yes, you are.” Vincent laughed and gave Lupa a head pat. He could feel Plow rub her head against his to show affection.

“Fine, you too.” Vincent ended up rubbing Plow’s fur to keep the two rivals in affection and attention balanced.

Five soldiers approached and asked what the large group wanted to do. The five men looked at the tall hooded woman and asked her to reveal her face.

“These are my women.” Vincent walked beside Sakura and revealed her face. “My hobgoblin woman was born with horns, and I have to hide her face.”
*Sigh* “I don’t know why people are afraid of my cute woman.” Vincent shook his head and acted as if he didn’t know that Sakura looked threatening.

“Cute?...” *cough* “I need to see the identifications and slave...” The soldier looked at Lupa, Iris, and Sakura’s necks and didn’t see the black slave color tattoo. A frown appeared on his face.

[It’s time to flex.]

Vincent smirked. He teasingly waved a gold card in his hand and later gave it to the soldier. The five soldiers gathered, and cold sweat covered their faces.

“I don’t think we have a problem, right?” Vincent asked with a wide smirk on his face.

“N-no, my lord. B-but may this servant ask where Lord Lionheart is headed?” The soldiers politely asked.

Vincent frowned. The soldiers didn’t ask them where they were headed last time, but maybe it was because of Ben.

“Why do you need to know?” He asked with an authoritative tone.

The soldiers slightly shivered. One of them gulped and explained how nobles are different from commoners or adventurers. Their lives are valued much higher as they are the symbol of the kingdom. As such, nobles need to be registered upon departure and arrival.

“We took a quest to help Okan Village from its Great Gray Wolf problem. ” Vincent explained.

One of the soldiers remembered an adventurer returning with wounds on his day shift. He whispered to the other soldiers about the validity of Vincent’s words. Shortly, the soldiers let the group of six pass the gate and watch them leave.

“Good thing I am not sponsored. I don’t want to protect the village from a ferocious beast.”

“Yeah. But it is sad at the same time. Nobles have to take care of their own problems with the soldiers they sponsor, or the military would spread too thin constantly mobilize for every village or town problem.”

???????????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????????????????????-????????????.????????????

“That’s why adventurers are a necessity. But only that strange goblin looked strong in their group.”

“Heh. Maybe that’s why that golden identification card favored noble was acting high and mighty.”

“Speaking of which. He was a Lionheart?... but should the Lionheart family only have a widow?”

“Did you forget about the rumors? The widow married a commoner, and it is also said a demon lives there.”

“Demon? Now that’s why I felt intimated! That goblin looked like a demon, hahaha.”

“Yeah. Demon my ass.”

“Haha.”

The soldiers chatted for a bit and returned to work.

*North West of Lusterfall City – Yevala Forest*

In the forest were footsteps and a strange sound. The sound originated from two wheels being pulled and a passenger covering her face out of embarrassment.

The more they walked, the more Lilith became tired. However, taking many breaks meant they would arrive at Okan Village and return home late. So Vincent took out the seated cart and gave Lilith a ride.

Nothing interesting happened until it started to become dark. Vincent decided to call it a day earlier after not taking too many breaks during the day.

Vincent asked Lupa to help him set the camp. She became happy to be asked, but she soon started to feel sad. Ester was teaching Iris, Lilith, and Sakura how to meditate and increase their mana slowly.

“Don’t be sad, Lupa. Even if you don’t have mana, you can still join them and meditate if you want. ” Vincent said.

Lupa smiled, and her tail wagged. “I will do it another time. ” She said while placing small sticks on the ground. Her eyes went over to Plow, who was also cutely carrying a small stick in her tiny mouth and a few with her eight tails. Both of them appeared to compete.

Vincent wanted to do some exercise after finishing their camp. He looked at everyone enjoying each other’s company. A smile appeared on his face, and it made him say, “Even though there isn’t much to do or to see, I promise to give my girls a great honeymoon in the forest.”

[It appears the night is still young, hehe.]

Kazumi had fun teasing Vincent.

Vincent and Lupa started training together. Plow tried to imitate some of the training, but she failed most of them cutely.

On the other side, Ester, Lilith, Sakura, and Iris meditated with Zero on her head.

Later, they ate, showed Plow what happened last night, and went to sleep after disturbing the forest.

*Day 79 – 27 August*

The next day arrived. Vincent woke up and stretched his body. After eating breakfast, they packed the camp and headed to Okan Village.

About half a day passed. Lupa and Plow mentioned smelling the scent of wood fire and the sound of footsteps of people working. The village appeared in their sight a little later.

Okan Village appeared to be an ordinary village with a wall of logs. However, three sides of the log wall were cut down, and a few houses closest to the walls were demolished.
