445 Visitors approach by a man-made fate

The door opened again. This time, Lilith and Clair appeared. Lilith brought a chair outside as if she wanted to spectate hunting the wild boar, while Clair requested to have a wild boar without too many wounds on it.

Both women brought a frown to Elias and Nick’s faces. On the other hand, Vincent smirked at the sight of Lilith sitting cozily, waiting for the action to start.

Kazumi left Vincent’s body and went to take a look. She didn’t take too long to return with the message to prepare for a feast. However, she also mentioned how the wild boar was injured. It had a small sharp rock embedded in its shoulder, and it was running towards their way.

Vincent used Overheat and took CQC combat form. This was the moment of truth. The moment where he had a live target to practice against.

Nick knew of Vincent’s strength. He tapped on the anxious Elias’s shoulder and signaled to be followed. Nick went to sit near Lilith, and it confused Elias even more.

“Doesn’t Vincent need help?” Elias questioned.

“Only if it is an Alpha Magic Beast or a Demonic Beast. Vincent fought against a Great Gray Wolf head to head, so an ordinary animal isn’t a problem.” Lilith answered as she had seen firsthand the corpse of the large wolf and no one injured because of Vincent.

Furthermore, Lilith heard what happened in Aero Forrest multiple times. Vincent appeared as a heroic main character to Lilith as he fought dangerous foes while protecting the maidens in distress. The real-life story fascinated her more than any fictional story she read in books.

*Rustle, rustle* The wild boar appeared. However, Kazumi noticed mana surrounding the boar with her Mana Sense. She saw mana swirling around the boar’s body, quite similar to Wind Armor.

.....

[So this is the fate Darwin talked about. The boar is being protected and probably led to this location. The wound might be from Melissa’s team. It seems our happy holiday is about to end by five annoying girls.]

Vincent focused his gaze, and it was as Kazumi guessed. The boar was suffering from a wound, bleeding, and fear. It also had Wind Armor protecting it from further harm.

‘Swinging my arm and trying to cut down the boar has become more difficult now. I think I should go back to basics.’ Vincent thought.

Vincent threw a punch with his index finger extended. The boar lunged at Vincent to injure him with its tusks.

When the two forces collided, the mutated blood gauntlet overpowered the defense Wind Armor provided and pierced the boar’s skull.

“Shatter!” Was the first word to flash in his mind.

Almost all Vincent’s mana surged to the single point his index finger pointed to. A chaotic burst of mana rushed into the boar, similar to a lightning strike.
As it traveled in a straight line, from the head, and to the spine, until ending at the tail, miniature root-like lightings of chaotic mana severed and destroyed any muscle tissue attached to the boar’s spine in about five inches distance.

The wild boar fell to the ground. The damage sustained to its muscle tissue because of the injection of chaotic mana was hidden from any outside gaze.

“I ended up doing a finger shank with mana...” Vincent removed his finger and shook his head.

Vincent didn’t look too happy after losing the practice target in the blink of an eye. The thought of returning to Aero Forest and searching for large beasts, the same foes he didn’t want to encounter, flashed in his mind.

[No Vincent. Your words were true. The mana entered the boar, destroying anything in its path like a lightning strike. The move’s name Shatter sounds proper to how it deals damage.]

[The application of mana gathering and control is quite similar to the usage of Force Shock, but calling this move OverShock or Finger Of Doom sounds a little bit too much.]

Vincent stopped using Overheat and looked at the boar. Vincent recalled how much he changed from his arrival in this world to the present time. From weak to strong. What Vincent perceived as dangerous now became as weak as a pesky fly.

Vincent summoned a blade and cut a few arteries to drain the boar from its blood. He summoned a rope and asked for help. Nick and Elias went to help while Clair looked at Lilith was a puzzled expression.

“Umm... Lilith. Why are you so relaxed? How can you look so brave and calm?” Clair asked. She looked at the three dragging the boar to a nearby tree. “You said that Vincent was strong, but even then, I closed my eyes when the boar lept at him.”

“I trust Vincent completely. If Vincent says he got this, then I am certain I have no fears. If he says I am in danger, he will do his best to protect me. Even if...” *Sigh* Lilith frowned and paused for a moment. “Even if he becomes selfless to protect us as the others told me.”

The door opened once again. Jun Ye Rim appeared, and she said, “Those five classmates or whatever are coming here because of fate.” *Bam* She closed the door after informing them about the approaching team one, Melissa’s team.

Elias was helping with tieing the rope when five figures entered his sight. As the scout Jun Ye Rim notified, five female students from Class A appeared.

The one leading the team was a woman with a unique hairstyle. The two large curly drills on each side gave the impression of spinning when their owner looked quite angered to have their kill and their point taken.

“V-vincent!?” Melissa stuttered in shock. She raised her gaze and saw a wild boar hanging on a tree.

The rock was removed, but the wound was still in the same place. This was the boar that escaped and mysteriously escaped quicker than an ordinary boar possibly could.

“That is our boar!” One of Melissa’s teammates exclaimed.

“Hahaha.” Vincent laughed. He looked at Melissa and continued, “This was the fate created by your father. He visited and asked if I could let his daughter and her team in my cabin. I agreed on the condition of following my rules.”

Melissa and her teammates moved their gaze from the boar. The sight of a cabin and a clear area gave them a lot to ponder about, as if it was prepared before the test.

“Preparing a building before the test is against to rules. Furthermore, my father never mentioned there is a building in the forest for students to take shelter in.” Melissa spoke about a minute later.

“I broke no rules. I brought it here with the power of money, hahaha.” Vincent joked.

Melissa and her teammates began to look frustrated with Vincent’s actions toward them. They started to feel as if they were mocking them.

“Money? My father has a lot of money, but I know that I can’t physically fit a cabin inside a bag of holding.” Melissa said. The four teammates nodded.

“Melissa. That is why certain things in life are priceless. Some things can never be sold. Thus, their value is boundless.” Vincent said in a sarcastic tone.

“But...”

*Sigh* “Stop asking on and on. Just treat this boar as the lodging fee, okay? You can stay in a safe place protected by us and sleep on the sofas. Marquis Byron Sunrise chose some comfy sofas for my cabin.” Vincent interrupted.

“Sofa?...”

“Sleep on a sofa or sleep outside.” Vincent interrupted again.

One of Melissa’s teammates looked at Elias after she wasn’t too happy with this arrangement. She was in a team with the daughter of the academy’s headmaster, yet Vincent acted as if didn’t care.

She pointed at Elias and complained, “What about him? He isn’t from your team. Where is he going to sleep?”

Elias became worried Vincent might have to kick him out of the cabin. He looked at Vincent, yet on his face was a smirk.

“There is one spot left on the bed. But it is on the male side.” Vincent winked and continued, “You can take his place if you want. But you have to sleep in the middle of two men. Who knows, maybe you can start a reverse harem with Nick and me.”

Melissa’s teammate looked at Nick. She took a step back and hid behind Melissa. She acted as if Nick was about to assault her in broad daylight like the rumors of his infamy state.

*Clap* “Then it is setteled. Go upstairs to clean yourselves. You can join us later for dinner. Dinner is on the house.” Vincent summoned a sword and chopped the boar’s head. The five girls averted their gaze as he thought and went inside the cabin.

[That was a fun episode, haha. I wonder what other drama can the drama queen Melissa stir. Darwin said she was giving him trouble. I hope we can enjoy the few days left.]

-Yeah...-

The jinx Kazumi was at it again. Later that day, Melissa and her four teammates complained about how nobles shouldn’t be treated like this.

Fortunately, they would stop complaining when Vincent threatened to let them sleep like the other noble students were doing.

The happiest person in the cabin, apart from the constantly giggling Kazumi, was Clair. She felt happy to hear Melissa, her teammates, and Elias praise her cooking skills and how tender certain parts of the boar were.

‘Mother. The five classmates that didn’t want me are now giving me compliments. I am happy to have joined the team with the Lionheart family as mother suggested... but I feel ashamed not to have heeded mother’s words. They were true like always.’ Clair thought with a joyous tear welling in her eyes.
