470 A weird pen name

[Is there something bothering you, Jun Ye Rim? We can assist if you need help. We can also listen to your story because I love stories...]

“Yeah. Kazumi is an inquisitive soul.” Vincent interrupted. “But you don’t need to feel pressured even if Kazumi asks. ”

Jun Ye Rim’s expression changed as if she recalled terrible memories. She looked sad yet nervous to speak.

After Jun Ye Rim stared blankly at the table for a while, she took Vincent’s offer. She walked to the other side of the table and sat opposite him.

“If you have made up your mind, I will listen patiently to what is making you nervous. ” Vincent reassured after noticing Jun Ye Rim express troubled emotions.

“Strangers died for... No.” Jun Ye Rim shook her head. “Because of me and my cursed fate.”

Jun Ye Rim started talking about a heavy subject. One where people she considered strangers died because of her.

Vincent and Kazumi remained silent to let Jun Ye Rim take her time. They could see anguish and self-hate in her expression. As if every bad thing was because of her.

“I arrived on this continent without much money, and I am powerless because Blemish is unable to injure living beings.” Jun Ye Rim closed her eyes and opened them a minute later. The eyes looked slightly redder as if she wanted to cry.

.....

“I placed an escort quest to escort me safely from a port in the Selos kingdom to Lusterfall City. A team of adventurers accepted, but not all the adventurers went back home. Two of the five adventurers died because of my cursed fate.”

Vincent and Kazumi grasped why Jun Ye Rim acted distantly. Something happened, and she blamed herself for being weak and needing protection. In the end, she thinks of herself as a jinx. A person in the same category as the people from another world, such as Vincent.

“I heard there is a lot of cold in many parts of the Selos Kingdom. Did they die because of the environment or an attack?” Vincent asked while looking at Jun Ye Rim with a reassuring gaze.

Jun Ye Rim swiftly wiped her face and shook her head. “A snow bear magic beast.” She answered.

[Everyone has their own fate, you know. Being near you doesn’t mean your self-proclaimed cursed luck or fate could affect them to the point of leading them to their deaths.]

“Kazumi is right.” Vincent nodded. “Did you encounter more dangers on the way to this city?”

???????????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????????????????????-????????????.????????????

“We faced a weak magic beast, and it was killed quickly.” Her voice changed slightly cheerier when recalling being praised for helping the adventurers ambush the magic beast.

Jun Ye Rim looked puzzled while mentioning, “I also met with a pervert in this city. He... he touched my behind, and when I was about to slap him, the three adventurers became so angry that soldiers had to stop them from killing him.”
[That sounds like only you treated them like strangers.]

“I agree with Kazumi. The three of them bonded with you while escorting you to this city.” Vincent confidently said.

Jun Ye Rim looked at Vincent as if she expected an honest response, “Do you both think so?”

[Yeah.]

“Jun Ye Rim. did you forget how attractive you are? The adventurers didn’t lay a finger on you during all their time with you. ” Vincent answered, causing a faint blush to appear on Jun Ye Rim’s face.

“I am not attractive or anything.” Jun Ye Rim denied. She raised her white hair and continued, “My hair and eye color are creepy. Humans only look at my body and nowhere else.”

“That’s not true...”

“It is.” Jun Ye Rim interrupted. “The adventurer team showed me how I might have been wrong about humans, but then I met you. A lustful womanizer beast. The lustful beast even ripped my clothes, and I can’t find another man now.”

“Huh?” Vincent became shocked to hear this statement out of nowhere. He closed his eyes and collected himself.

“I don’t mind having you as a wife. You are a good and trustable person. ” Vincent honestly said. He smiled reassuringly and continued, “That way, I can take responsibility and give you a good life. Give you a husband, sisters, and maybe more.”

[Ohh my! You confessed to Jun Ye Rim out of the blue. I wonder...]

*Creak* Jun Ye Rim pushed the chair back and stood up in a hurry. “It-its not like I like you! Womanizer!”

“I will accept a suitable reply whenever you are ready.” Vincent casually said while watching her go away.

Jun Ye Rim stopped and looked at Vincent with a pair of blushed cheeks one last time. She looked at his smile and left to wait for Maria’s magic class to start.

Jun Ye Rim would later meet Lilith. When Lilith noticed a book in Jun Ye Rim’s hand, Lilith recalled how Vincent wanted to spend a day in the library.

Lilith smelled a romance story brewing. She approached Jun Ye Rim and slyly whispered, “I don’t mind having you as my seventh sister. So please take care of Vincent while visiting the library with him.”

Jun Ye Rim couldn’t believe what she heard. The wife was letting another woman become his lover. ‘This family is too confusing.’ She thought.

“It’s not like I go to the library to see your man. I go to read books...”

“Really? Does it mean the book in your hand interests you? To be honest, the damsel in distress is a genre I love the most. That is how I was saved from my confinement by my knight in shining armor.” Lilith said enthusiastically. In her eyes, Jun Ye Rim might become her first female book lover friend. Ester, Lupa, and Iris were her storytime friends since only Ester knew how to read simple words.

Jun Ye Rim paused after hearing about Lilith’s past. Not only did Jun Ye Rim forget to decline Lilith’s request from the shock, but she would be visited many times in the future by Lilith to read a book in her company and also invite Ester, Lupa, and Iris to read them the books she borrows.

Jun Ye Rim would ponder if her bedroom was hers anymore.

Late at night, Vincent returned to the mansion. A frown was on his face after only finding one small book with twenty-page on it. The book had more pictures than words. Furthermore, it looked recently made.

The book was mostly about a few tourist places to visit on the desert continent. Each picture was painted as if a photo camera had taken it. Additionally, Kazumi noticed something strange while reading the book.

After Kazumi had read so many sentences written by dozens upon dozens of writers, the sentence structure of this book was odd. As if the writer of the book wasn’t a noble, they could write perfectly with no spelling mistakes. Even the sentence structure was more refined and less jarring to read.

The writer had the pen name, Tnecniv_M8_Ksamod. It sounded strange, but after Kazumi read many uncommon pen names, she decided this was another weird writer.

The book, however, was very informative. There was only one major kingdom called Mirage kingdom. There were a few more, but they were city-sized kingdoms, and their territories were small.

The large port at the dessert content catering for trips from and to the south content was called Damask.

There wasn’t much information on it, unlike the other places tourists can visit. However, the book mentioned showing this book to the information company GlasSsky, and they will receive free information.

One thing Vincent and Kazumi didn’t like was the slave-trading haven in Mirage City. The king allowed enslaved people to be purchased, sold, or offered as compensation or payment. Additionally, if the slave was beautiful or unique, the enslaved person could be sold to the king for his harem or his army if it caught his interest.

The book also mentioned how many of the slaves became slaves out of their own free will to survive. There aren’t many ways to make money because of the expanse of the desert, so selling themselves as slaves in a public auction or to a brothel was a way to find a home and, if lucky, a good owner.

Sometimes the enslaved people get sold to the army, and those that serve the kingdom well could be rewarded with an apartment. Strangely, becoming a slave to the kingdom was similar to a permanent job with rewards based on their performance.

Vincent went to shout for some time somewhere on team ten island but grasping how he had used Lion’s Roar was still a long way to go.

*Day 138 – 24 October – Saturday*

In the morning, Vincent and Lilith left together to meet with the alchemist.

Lilith held Vincent’s hand and nervously followed him. There were so many students and villagers glancing at them that she was about to have a panic attack.

“Don’t mind their gazes. ” Vincent slyly smirked and encouraged, “They are jealous that I got the prettiest girl around. So, be proud of the appearance you staked your life to get.”

Lilith nodded. She followed Vincent and peeked at the people looking at them from time to time, hoping to adapt one day.

Later, they arrived in front of the potion shop.

Honey noticed them. She quickly sold potions to her customers and closed the window. She exited her shop and placed a one-hour break sign on the window.

“I am truthfully regretful for what happened lucky...” *Cough* “Lady Lilith Lionheart. ” Honey said while apologetically bowing her head.
