630 The residents voice their bond

‘Her husband must have been a good person and a good soldier. Is this why Duke Lucas let me read the reports the royal soldiers give him?’ Anna wondered what his intentions were.

Leah, Clara, Beth, Lian, and Olive tried to stand up, but they couldn’t. Their legs had no strength. Their eyes were red, and their face puffy from all the crying. Their lips and throat were sore.

“Please...” “Save mister...” “I like mister...” “Vincent is kind...” “Vincent saved us...” The five of them said one after the other with a wavering voice.

Anna looked at the children, who were trying their best to speak up for Vincent as well. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to report any horrible treatment, yet they did the opposite.

The five children wanted to remain living in the new life Vincent provided. They didn’t want to go anywhere else. They wanted to remain living their current life in the mansion.

“I understand.” Said Anna. These were the words the children needed to feel relieved and reassured Vincent was not going to be taken away from them.

Shortly, the five children lost all their strength. They lowered on the wet yet warm ground and fell asleep with a smile on their faces.

The last people who knew about Vincent’s identity spoke next.

Rafa said how Vincent saved them in a way where he would not bring trouble to those behind him. They were bought, yet they are currently treated as guests, and they also have to opportunity to live the life of an ordinary worker. It was a thing she never imagined after becoming a slave.

.....

Mera nodded while Rafa spoke. The mermaid didn’t know what to say, so she said the first thing that came to her mind. “He didn’t hurt me as the other humans did.”

Mera’s words could prove many things, yet the most important meaning was how Vincent, even if he is called an invader, he is more of a gentleman than the men of this world.

“Horg, ogar.” Holger grunted.

“Vincent is the best male human I ever met, is what Holger said.” Rafa interpreted.

Maid Xu, Zefine, Grace, Eliara, Fliara, Markia, and her daughter Alice sleeping in her arms, Ganni, Maria, Russo, and Lusia didn’t know about Vincent’s real identity. They were shocked at the view happening and shocked to find out the truth.

The Emerald Lionheart Mansion housed about two sides of people living in the mansion. One side knew about Vincent being from another world, while the other side didn’t know the man who changed their lives was the same personal history teaches he bring death and destruction.
In Maira’s case, the presence of Vincent changed her perception of how fortunate a person can be. She couldn’t believe Vincent could gather so many different rare classes in one place. However, now it made more sense.

“It looks the rest feel betrayed for not knowing. What will you do now? What will you request of me, the Princess Anna Lusterfall?”

“Will you request for Vincent to be vanquished before he brings death and destructing as history teaches us? Or will you consider everything he has done as his true personality, thus making him a person with an ordinary personality like the rest of us?”

“Are you going to accept Vincent after feeling betrayed that he didn’t, for obvious reasons, tell you his real identity, or will you hate him for who he is?”

Anna said. Anna spoke as if she was the judge and the people in front of her were the people in need of hearing her verdict.

“Vincent saved my sister and me from a horrible fate. We knew he was different, but we didn’t fathom the thought he was this different.” Eliara said.

Fliara placed her hand on her sister’s shoulder and said, “But he is the only man who didn’t try to take advantage of us. We are willing to give Vincent a chance to prove to us he is not what history teaches us people like him are.”

“I agree. ” Eliara said while nodding.

“I have to accept him since my lady loves him the way he is. Furthermore, he saved the Lionheart family and lady Teresa as well.” Maid Xu announced.

Maid Xu’s words surprised most of those who heard her. Maid Xu was doing most of the work in the mansion while not knowing Vincent’s real identity. In other words, Maid Xu should feel like the second most betrayed person today.

The most betrayed person was Vlad. He discovered his daughter sleeping with one of the people he classifies as his enemies. Instead of hearing for a reason, Vlad chose to kill Vincent instead of interrogating him for a way to go back home.

“Lord Vincent saved my life, and he allows me to live here. I can also leave and ask the Adventurers Guild about my brother’s whereabouts. ” Zefine said. She forced a smile and continued, “If I die, then so be it. The good time here can be seen as living a little bit more than I should have.”

Russo heard Zefine accept living in this mansion while now knowing Vincent’s real identity. Russo looked at his mother, treating what was happening as if it was a theatrical play.

‘My mother currently does not know what is happening. It would be best if she can remain in this state until the situation ends.’ Russo looked at Zefine with a frown. ‘I didn’t know Zefine thought like this... Doesn’t Zefine want to live and have a family in the future?’

“I will not reveal Vincent’s identity. ” Russo said while looking at Zefine. He moved his head toward Anna and continued, “But, your highness, I will need to see more with my eyes. I need to see if Vincent is here to bring us harm. I need to determine if he is helping us to hide in plain sight as a noble.”

“My family also needs to determine what to do with this situation. However, my wife and I will not forget who saved our daughter’s life. ” Ganni said.

“I think the same way.” Said Marika. She and her husband showed signs of doubting the history they learned because the person they not only should avoid but also persecute helped them more than the people around them.

“I am grateful to lord Vincent. My health has become better with his and his family’s help. I don’t want to think they are bad people.” Grace expressed.

After being treated and given the opportunity to work, Grace thought she was living her dream life. However, it was just a dream. The people who were treating her well hid a dangerous secret from her.

Grace held her elbows and continued, “If they are bad people, then I will trust no one.”

The last person to speak or remain silent was Maira. She held her belly after the last kick she received almost caused her to faint.

“Do what you will. If it only takes one person to destroy the world, then let the world as fragile as a piece of glass be destroyed.” Maria said without taking a side.

“Your highness... don’t tell me we are going to let that horrible man cursed to devour us before he destroys the world alive...”

“I know what you mean, Bilka. ” Anna said. She placed her hand on Bilka’s hand and continued, “I have judged Vincent has people he can trust around him. They do not desire his death even after finding out who he is.”

“Thank you for not betraying us.” Lilith showed a sincere smile and bowed. “Vincent comes from another world, but so do most of the beastmen, most of the demon race, most of the monsters, cyclops, lizardmen, vampires, and many, many more races.”

“I am grateful to be surrounded by people who look at the actions rather than the appearance.” Iris bowed while showing her appreciation.

“I know how it feels to be betrayed by those close. I am happy to know people who will not betray us after knowing the truth.” Sakura said before joining Lilith and Iris with her grateful bow.

After a brief moment of no one talking, they heard the sound of a heavy person landing. They turned their head and saw Lucas carrying Ester and Lupa on his shoulders after he caught them.

“Ester! Lupa!” Iris, Lilith, and Sakura expressed with worry before they went to lift them off Lucas’s shoulders.

Ester and Lupa were placed on the ground. Iris made a quick check and said, “Ester is bruised and exhausted. Lupa has a lot of scratches, but none are deep.”

“Zero Zero is also tired.” *Pho* Plow informed after glancing at Zero and seeing it sitting on the ground and gently wobbling.

Only three people were fighting at the moment. Vlad fought against his daughter and the man she loved. The longer the fight lasted, the more disadvantageous Vlad found himself to be.

Vincent constantly recovered as if he was immortal. Additionally, Vlad’s soul was injured. He couldn’t fight at full strength.

Vlad didn’t use any fancy ranged attacks with Energy Flow, similar to when he and Lucas fought. His eyes constantly moved on the Mimi, and he would not make such attacks in her presence.

Vlad fought injured and with a hindrance. Vlad spoke terrible words, and he harmed his daughter. However, Vlad never used big moves that could mistakenly hit his daughter and possibly kill her instantly.

Mimi was wounded dozens of times, yet whenever Vincent was cut, Mimi would be behind him to leave no drop of blood to fall on the ground.
