Supreme System Devourer
Chapter 53 - Splitting the Skies
Meanwhile, a small army marched towards a large city. They carried powerful weapons with strong auras and their eyes flashed with menace. Their commander walked in front of them with a black cape draped across his shoulders and a gold chain around his neck. Off the chain dangled a single fang.
The fang was blood red in color and exuded a powerful and ancient aura. The commander, himself, gave off a powerful aura of earth, distorting the very space around him. His eyes smoldered with power as he marched forward.
Suddenly, bugles sounded and a shower of arrows covered the sky. Curving in a graceful flight, they fell down towards the army with a vicious screech. Roaring, a wall of pure earth energy rose from the ground and blocked the arrows. The energy was so powerful that each arrow was shattered instantly.
The commander growled in anger and made motions with his hands. The army immediately ȧssumed formation.
The sound of hooves cut through the still air as a man, riding a white horse, rode towards the army. He seemed hurried and panicked as if scared of the presence before him.
Reaching the army, he leaped off his horse and knelt in front of the commander. Handing him a scroll, the messenger stayed silent and kneeling.
The commander opened the scroll and scanned it. His eyes narrowed.
"A trade agreement?" he spoke, in a low tone.
The messenger quivered in fear. He nodded shakily. The commander glared at him, a fiery stare of death.
Shaking his head, he returned the scroll to the messenger.
"Tell them... their loyalty or their lives," he spoke.
The messenger trembled and mounted his horse. He rushed back with all haste, terrified out of his mind.
Seeing his retreating figure, the commander scowled.
"Give them an example," he commanded.
His army moved simultaneously and there was a tremendous boom that cut through the heavens. The commander, raising his arm, sliced downwards. There was a massive boom and the earth split in half.
The commander smiled. The Lightning 1012 Strikes Technique was sufficient enough to scare them.
Energy flew out of the crevice and the sky split into two. Historians would later remember this day as the day the earth and heaven split. They would call this fearless and powerful commander, the Sky-Splitter.
"Yes," he breathed.
The messenger collapsed and the commander ordered the soldiers to take him away. Allowing himself a rare smile, the commander marched his army into the city.
He had finally conquered another empire to add to his growing collection. A large swath of empires had been melded into one, although the divisions were administered by portions of his army and capable generals.
He and his army had conquered the entire Eastern portion of this continent. Soon, the would have taken over it all.
Staring up at the sky, he took a deep breath and closed his eyes. Opening them again, he stared into the sky.
"Master..." he began.
His eyes flashed with a dangerous gleam.
"I've conquered these lands for you," he spoke softly.
looking back down, he nodded. It was time to give this great empire to the man who had already given him so much. The man whom he owed his entire existence to.
A soldier rushed to him.
"Sir!" he spoke.
The commander turned towards him and gestured at him to speak.
"We've taken complete control of this city. It is ready to be ȧssimilated to the Empire, sir!" the soldier spoke.
The commander smiled in reply.
"Good job soldier!" he spoke.
The soldier beamed from the praise.
"Thank you, Commander sir!" the soldier replied.
The commander nodded and dismissed the soldier. Bowing low the soldier saluted him before leaving.
The commander smiled. It was time to go home.
