81 May Your Wishes Come True (1 / 2)

The night on the island was quiet and serene, with hardly any sound other than the waves crashing against the shore.

The moonlight spilled onto the beach like a piece of exquisite silk, smooth and delicate.

People walked on the soft sand, letting themselves go.

The guests came out of the villa, carrying sky lanterns, gathering on the beach.

“How about here?”

Tang Wan looked around, the spot seemed appropriate, far from the woods yet not too far from the sea, and the wind tonight was blowing towards the sea, so there was no fear of the lanterns falling on land and causing accidents.

Everyone nodded in agreement: “Okay, let’s do it here!”

Lighting the lanterns required cooperation, one person holding up the sky lantern while another lit the fire below.

Fang Zhou naturally prepared to help Zhang Zhiyin, but just as he squatted down, someone called him from behind.

“Brother Fang Zhou, I can’t light it by myself, can you help me?”

It was the pure and harmless Chu Xinran.

Fang Zhou naturally wouldn’t refuse her, nodded at Zhang Zhiyin, and said softly, “Wait for me a moment.”

Then he got up to help Chu Xinran.

Zhang Zhiyin paused, watching the interaction between the two, thoughtful.

Was it her imagination? Why did it feel like Fang Zhou was also quite tolerant of Chu Xinran? Even as much as his first love, Qiao Sisi.

“Light the lantern,” he said.

Fang Zhou held the Kongming lantern with both hands, flashing Chu Xinran a smile.

She returned the gesture with a sweet smile, softly replying, “Okay.”

He had intended to make it quick, but his eyes caught the words the girl had written on the lantern.

“I hope Fang Zhou will always be mine alone.”

Those words, they seemed familiar, like she had said them on the day she cut her hand!

Fang Zhou abruptly looked up at Chu Xinran, thinking: No way, she still hasn’t given up?

The girl’s sweet smile appeared again, her head nodding slightly—a small gesture, but enough for Fang Zhou to notice.

“Do you think this Kongming lantern can fulfill my wish?” she asked.

Chu Xinran was essentially asking Fang Zhou if he could always be with her.

Her eyes, filled with innocence, were now reflecting the ignited flame, flickering with the wind, just like Chu Xinran’s sincere heart.

Suddenly feeling burnt, Fang Zhou quickly lowered his head to avoid her gaze, whispering, “It’s just a symbol of hope, don’t take it too seriously.”

After saying that, he handed the lantern back to Chu Xinran, casually adding, “There, you can release it soon.”

Then he quickly left her sight, returning to Zhang Zhiyin, his hurried steps as if something was chasing him.

The girl behind him held the lantern with one hand, her gaze firmly on Fang Zhou, not shifting in the slightest.

In her heart, she thought: This isn’t just hope, it’s a prophecy. You will be with me, always.

Back with Zhang Zhiyin, Fang Zhou found that Qin Yun had already lit her lantern, and with Zhang Zhiyin’s help, hers was now complete.

Han Xi and Tang Wan were also helping Qiao Sisi light their lanterns, but all tacitly avoided asking about each other’s wishes.

The five of them moved swiftly, leaving the male guests who wanted to help with no choice but to awkwardly light their own lanterns.

Darn it, no chance to show off!

Qin Yun glanced at Zhang Zhiyin with a smile, seemingly casual as she said, “Your lantern is quite special.”

While the other lanterns had various marks, hers seemed to bear only one line written by Zhang Zhiyin, nothing more.

Zhang Zhiyin nodded in response, “Yes, yours is very special too.”

81 Wishing Your Dreams Come True (2/2)

Praised for her choice of lantern, Qin Yun boldly showed it to her.

“Look, this is my wish.”

Zhang Zhiyin looked down to see, besides the HX mark, only the words ‘Together till old age.’

A simple and unadorned expression of Qin Yun’s wish, likely for a lasting relationship, to grow old together.

Zhang Zhiyin lifted her smile, sincerely wishing, “May your wishes come true.”

Hearing her blessing, Qin Yun raised a smile, more genuine than ever before.

She thanked her in a low tone, “Thank you.”

My rival wishes me and Fang Zhou to grow old together, how nice.

Poor Zhang Zhiyin, kept in the dark, even complimented the returning Fang Zhou, “Qin Yun’s handwriting is so beautiful!”

Fang Zhou caught Qin Yun’s triumphant look and knew what she was proud of; he had overheard their conversation.

He could only agree outwardly, “Yes, it’s very beautiful.”

While inwardly lamenting: Zhiyin, don’t play with her, this bad woman has a thousand tricks up her sleeve, you can’t outplay her!

Qin Yun smiled very satisfied, her whole being radiant, refraining from saying any more strange words to Fang Zhou.

However, she casually asked Fang Zhou, “What wish did you write?”

She had clearly seen Fang Zhou give the lantern to Zhang Zhiyin earlier, and now asking him was actually an indirect question to Zhang Zhiyin.

The latter smiled slightly and turned the written side of the lantern to show her.

Zhang Zhiyin had written ‘I hope my sister stays healthy.’

Qin Yun raised an eyebrow, finding it strange. She hadn’t heard of Zhang Zhiyin having a sister. Wasn’t she an only child? Could it be a cousin or someone similar?

But she smartly didn’t continue to inquire; to do so would be impolite and overstepping.

Qin Yun was always the one who understood the ways of the world the best, she would never make such a low-level mistake.

As for Fang Zhou? He was one of her own, asking him was no issue.

“Should be about time, right?”

Fang Zhou surveyed the area, seeing that everyone’s sky lanterns were mostly lit.

Since he didn’t have a lantern himself, he decided to be the one to count down.

“Come, let’s count down from five and let go together!”

“Five!”

Everyone’s voices overlapped, mixed with excitement and thrill.

Some were releasing a sky lantern for the first time in their lives, ecstatic to the point of almost squealing with joy.

“Four!”

The live stream audience also silently counted down in the chat, sharing their feelings.

From noble mtl dot come

“The sky lanterns are so beautiful, especially when released by the sea. I can’t even imagine how happy a child I would be if I were there!”

“I think so too, it’s like fireworks, a beautiful hope and expectation. People can only live bravely when they have hopes.”

“Wuwuwu, next time I want to release a sky lantern with someone I love, it would be so beautiful!”

“Three!”

“Two!”

“One!”

As the final countdown echoed, ten sky lanterns were released into the air, carrying everyone’s beautiful wishes as they floated upwards.

At this moment, blessed by life itself, they shone more beautifully than the stars and the moon.
