Fake 103: Gremlin

“Kyakyakyakyakyakya.”

The gremlin raised a voice similar to that of a monkey.

Although the myrmecoleon has been defeated, there are still two gremlins left. So, this isn’t the time to relax. (T/N: Yup, it is two gremlins. Though there was no indication that there were two in the previous chapter.)

“By the way, do gremlins have any particular abilities?”

“I don’t know the details, but they shouldn’t be weak since they are E-rank.”

“They are E-rank even though they are so small!?”

The size of a gremlin is between that of a small and medium-sized dog, so it is quite small for a monster.
The fact that they are E-rank even with this size probably means that they have some kind of power outside their size.
One of the gremlins shrieked and charged at me. I waited with my sword ready, then the gremlin suddenly accelerated.

“[Lightning]. Wha!? So fast!”

Having sensed the danger, I dropped a lightning bolt at the space between me and the gremlin. Nevertheless, the gremlin’s acceleration is strange.
It suddenly accelerated like a two-stage rocket, and for an instant, it looked as if its body had blurred and split.

Aoi followed by activating her skills, launching a barrage.
These guys are a type of monster that specializes in speed.
Speaking of fast monsters, there are also jaguarmen. However, these guys are hard to hit because of their small size; moreover, these guys are probably faster than the jaguarmen.

I also put up a barrage with my skills, so the gremlin didn’t come closer from there. However, my skills couldn’t hit it either because it had avoided all my attacks at high speed.
Previously, we had trouble defeating the jaguarman as well; both of us aren’t very good with this type of monster.
Another gremlin came around our flank by avoiding the front where our barrage was concentrated.

Leaving our front to Aoi, I fired an explosive flame at the approaching gremlin. But it easily slipped through the small explosive flame that I fired and pressed on.

I immediately fired a lightning bolt, but the gremlin broke through it by accelerating further.

I swung the reinforced ceramic sword that was held in my hand at my front where the gremlin was.

While enduring the gremlin’s attack, I invoked a flame thunder from an extremely close range.
