Fake 78: Victory In The Snowfield Battle

As soon as [Lightning] landed, I retreated a little to gain more time to respond in case the enemy was still fine.
When I checked the place where the lightning bolt struck, a faint shadow could be seen, which looked like a monster.

“Rin-kun! [Explosion].”

“There you are! [Lightning].”

Once again, the two of us fired our skills at the shadow.
The shadow dissipated and couldn’t be seen anymore. It seemed to be defeated for real this time, but I can’t stop paying attention to the surroundings yet.
I squinted my eyes to look forward, but it felt like the visibility was getting worse, probably because the snow was falling more densely.
This means we won’t be able to see anything if the sun sets, so we must finish the battle as soon as possible.

“Rin-kun, another one!”

Although I couldn’t see it, Aoi seemed to be able to see it.

“There! [Explosion].”

Since Aoi released her skill to her front, I also began my attacks in the direction where Aoi fired her skill.

“[Lightning].”

“Rin-kun! Not over yet! [Wind Cutter].”

Our field of vision was cleared for a moment due to Aoi’s skill, so I was able to catch a glimpse of the enemy monster in our front.
It is a jaguar man!
It isn’t wrong to say that that enemy is the worst match-up for us in the current situation. In this bad weather, it will become more difficult to catch the enemy if we let it move at high speed.

“[Wind Cutter].”

I also fired a wind blade following Aoi. Although my half-strong wind blade was not able to clear our field of vision as much as Aoi’s, it was still enough for us to catch a glimpse of the jaguar man.
I don’t know how many enemies there are, but it is not time to hold back.

“Got you! [Vortex Fire].”

“Not yet, Rin-kun. [Explosion] [Explosion].”

Aoi also seemed to have the same idea as me and fired her skill in rapid succession. However, no matter how fast she fired her skills, she was always a step behind.
The jaguar man is still alive and kicking.

“Aoi, use [Wind Cutter] and secure our visions! I will finish it.”

“Understood.”

When we bombarded our skills randomly, there was always a lag in timing, and we just ended up falling behind the jaguar man’s speed. Therefore, I will focus on the attack while Aoi keeps our visibility clear.

“Rin-kun, it is coming! [Wind Cutter].”

Aoi’s skill precisely exposed the jaguar man’s position.

“End with this! [Vortex Fire].”

I immediately activated my skill and fired a flame thunder at the jaguar man.

“Did we finish it?”

I was able to see until the flame thunder hit the jaguar man. However, the snow obstructed my vision again, making me unable to confirm its disappearance.

“Rin-kun, I think… it is probably finished.”

“Yeah, I wonder how many of them are left?”

“I’m not sure, but considering that we’ve already defeated three monsters, I don’t think there will be many even if there are still monsters left.”

“You are probably right.”

After that, we stayed vigilant on the surroundings for quite some time. But since no more monsters appeared, we decided to return home after I dug out the magic stones one way or another.
However, we weren’t able to ride our racing bicycles on the return trip. So, we had to push our bicycles through the snow to return home.
It wasn’t that bad since Aoi was by my side. Putting that aside, the pocket warmers were not that useful in this cold and snowy weather. When I got home, I immediately took a quick shower.
