Sweet CEO's First Love

Chapter 102 - Perfect English

Seungwoo blinked at the two of them as if they were nuts, and Heart smiled at him.

"He is right, you know. Saint is right. It is hard to admit your feelings, especially when it feels like the whole world is the boundary that's stopping you from being together, but sometimes there's nothing you can do about your feelings. You can't give them up, you can't stop worrying even when you try, and anything you say and do to deter and convince yourself not to feel those feelings only ends up hurting the other person worse than you're hurting yourself. So whatever you said to her, whatever you did. It can be undone, with your honest feelings."

"You were honest with your own feelings, and admitting your feelings, the mistakes you've made, and how much you've hurt someone is the first step to moving forward and enacting change in doing the right thing to fix whatever mistake you made." Heart said.

He looked over at Saint who was nodding at him. His heart was filled with happiness and pure adoration. 'Look at how far we came in such a short time. I don't know how or why, but I think ever since that moment in the bathroom when I met you. I knew you were my fate, my destiny, and I felt an instant connection. I wanted to run away from it. I wanted to die before admitting to my feelings, but I knew at the moment I met you that you were right for me. And the words you said to me crushed and debilitated me. Causing me to waiver and my heart to ache with sadness. For a short time, I wasn't sure how to help you, how to run to you when I wanted to, and hold you tightly when all you were doing was hurting me and pushing me away. But then I couldn't hold it in anymore, you pushed and I broke, and the truth spilled out. I love you. Then, now, and forever... I love you with all my heart, and that was what held us together all along.'

Heart turned to Seungwoo.

"Most often pushing hard to get someone away just leads to that someone breaking, but sometimes the other person won't break and will be there to catch you when you fall, when your pieces shatter to the ground they will hold you tightly together with their love. You have to give her a chance because even if you think she is not waiting in the sidelines for you. She is. She is waiting and aching all alone, not able to let you go, the world could crush her and break her, but she still can't let you go. I know... I know this feeling from personal experience." Heart said.

"The world will always have a reason to stop you from moving forward because inherently it is our flaw as humans to come up with a reason to stop us from moving forward when we are afraid of the outcome of something. Our job, our responsibilities... Our family." He looked over at Saint.

"If you allow it, fear will always find just one more reason, to stop you from stepping out to the edge and opening yourself up to new possibilities."

"You have to decide if your fear is bigger than your desire. Your desire to love and be loved back. Freely and honestly." Saint said.

Seungwoo stared at them.

"But how do I tell her that I love her when I can't be with her because my dad is keeping us apart?"

"I don't have any right to love her and cherish her when my family has done everything to ruin and belittle her's and Mark's for years. How can I say 'I know my dad harasses you but I love you more than anything?'" Seungwoo asked.

Heart chuckled, shaking his head and looking over at Saint.

"Wow, did you guys meet and bond in my dad's psychopath 101 class?" Heart asked with a chipper snort.

Seungwoo rolled his eyes.

"Yeah, it was us and three other unloved tormented souls. Why are you going to hunt them down and fix all the lost lambs in the world?" Saint teased.

Heart blinked at him stupidly. "Wait, what? Really? You met in a group to bond over bad dads?" He asked, his voice tinted with his surprise.

Seungwoo chuckled, his deep voice echoing around the small space.

They all turned to look at Miran who sat staring at her toes, she had looked up when he laughed but put her head back down sadly ignoring everyone in the room again.

Saint pat him on the top of his head as if he were a child.

"I was kidding, you naive, gullible, sexy idiot."

"Wow, complimenting and insulting at the same time. You sure know how to make a man's heart flutter." Heart said back sourly.

"And you two are back to fighting," Seungwoo said amused.

"You two have convinced me. I am going to go talk to her... well mainly to avoid whatever this is turning into. So I am going to go sit over there, and you two continue whatever... well whatever this is," He said pointing at the two of them, before bowing out, turning around grabbing a beer, and plopping down on the little sofa next to Miran.

Her eyes widened and she sat up very slowly, letting go of her toes, her beer sliding out of her hand to the floor, the can clatter across the ground splattering its contents on the concrete.

"Let's go mingle," Saint said wrapping his arm around his shoulders and dragging him into the circle where Kit and Ten were having a conversation with the other girl, Mark, and the other guy, while Changwook lay on a couch alone, playing something on his phone.

"But it doesn't matter inevitably, we will have to go ahead and add new engines if we can't surmise the issue of why they are overheating badly enough that they could blow up," Mark said.

Heart leaned against Saint. He realized they were talking about cars and turned around and walked over to the empty chair next to the couch Miran and Seungwoo were sitting on and the one right beside the chair the other girl was sitting in. He pulled out his phone trying to absorb himself into the screen, he knew if he pretended to be interested in their conversation he would be snoozing faster than a rock.

The screen lit up and he pouted unhappily. It was only one twenty-three in the morning, they hadn't been here long. Heart sighed, he really wished he could bug High, he had no idea how to socialize in situations where people were talking about cars, but Kit liked them, it seemed Ten didn't mind, and Saint, he was pretty sure, got enthralled by the business side of anything. He knew for a fact High loved cars, especially Mercedes, and could talk about them for a good bit of time. He, on the other hand, had zero interest in them and viewed them only as a way to get from point A to point B. If they didn't work then you took a taxi or some other metal object that moved you towards your destination.

His sister had always said, 'If you linger your eyes affixed onto the vessel to your destination you will often miss the very place you were meaning to go.' She had said it so many times when he was little, he had thought she was nuts. It wasn't until he was older that he realized she was telling him to focus on the right things. Which made sense since he was always so misfocused in his own life.

"Are they boring you out of your mind with their car talk?"

Heart looked over at the girl in the chair who had spoken in perfect English. She giggled softly at his expression.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you, I figured you probably don't know any Korean. I know Saint, Kit, and Ten do, but you are not some global star or top of a globally recognized tier one company. But I know that in Thailand English is actually taught pretty commonly in schools so I figured I would just go for it. I don't think these guys realized how stuck you would be if everyone around you was just speaking in Korean without a word edgewise too you."

"But I am truly very sorry, I didn't mean to jar you that much. I didn't realize you were so caught up in your own thoughts. I just saw you staring blankly at your phone doing nothing and figured they had zoned you out to Mars."

"Not going to lie... I am up there with you. I work at the company and it's still all so far above my head, it may as well be a different language." She laughed at her own joke and he chuckled too, instantly getting the same vibe from her as he did from Min.

"My name is Mina, I betcha when they were talking in Thai over there not a single one of those smarties who are so enthralled with their own prowess introduced anyone here did they?"

Heart chuckled. "Your name is going to be really easy to remember. My sister's name is Min. And no, no they didn't."

"Cool your sister's name is really similar to mine. I always wanted a little brother, but I don't have any family."

Heart was about to ask about her parents when she seemingly glossed over it and started talking again.

"I can tell you who everyone here is since they didn't. The one laying down over there snoring on top of his phone is Changwook, he is Mark's little brother. Mark is the suave relaxed one with the sleek hair and a handsome jawline. The other one with more attitude than he can fit inside his turtleneck sweater he is wearing is Jaemin, he is Mark's bodyguard and best friend, he is also Miran's older brother. Miran is…" She leaned to point but before she could say anything.

"The beautiful girl next to Seungwoo." Heart finished.

"Yeah, how did you know?" He asked, clearly delighted.

"It's the only one you don't have to introduce me to. That's the only one he never mentions, yet also never fails not to mention." Heart said, hoping Mina wasn't struggling too hard to understand his English which was good, just not as smooth as hers.

He had learned his English skills from when he was in Kindergarten and up, and had continued learning even after upper secondary when it was no longer mandatory. He had always believed the future was now, and that those who had dropped it for other classes would regret it someday. A second language was useful to have.
