Sweet CEO's First Love
Chapter 79 - Fifteen Times
Heart knew that if Min had known just how much he was slacking on his schoolwork she would have for sure boxed him in the ears.
Called him crazy, lost her mind, and berated him wholeheartedly.
And maybe even locked him in his room until he smarted the heck up.
It was his own poor choices that were causing him to suffer now. If sitting down and working on schoolwork with your two best friends, hidden away in their dorm could be called suffering.
Which it could... As anyone who had ever been to University before knew for a fact could be considered full-blown suffering.
Nothing was worse than needing to know something so desperately that you decided to cram your brain so full of a dizzying amount of information in some desperate attempt to save yourself from becoming a definite failure later on while everyone else you knew succeeded. Nothing hurts more for a college student than doing your very best in a short time and then being told to recall it all later only to have it all slip out of grasp and your mind fill with the thought. Oh, that's odd, I know that... I wonder what it is.
But still knowing how important that all was for his future, and how he couldn't give up on that future and become complacent just because he had found someone he cared about and loved. And even though his mind felt like it was swaying with all the stress from cramming, and working like a zombie day in and day out as he prepared for midterms.
It didn't stop him from missing Saint.
From wanting to run to him and cuddle into his big warm body. It didn't stop him from desiring to curl up in a ball of those white fluffy blankets, lay on top of the man he cared for like a sheet, and just listen to his heart beating for a moment.
But he also knew that just running to Saint for nothing but an "I miss you and am thinking of you" would be bad for both of them.
He knew Saint was already burdened with wrapping things up and didn't need Heart to show up.
They were each other's weakness, and he couldn't hide the pain that was still a dull ache inside him. He knew seeing him would worry Saint, but that Saint would also be filled with that same desire that Heart himself was filled with every time he saw Saint.
And he couldn't even say it was one-sided anymore. It never had been. Heart longed for him too. He couldn't stay away.
He also felt that undeniable desire to hold each other tightly in each other's arms and feel the warmth of the other.
'They were both the best and worst distractions to each other, ever.'
Heart pouted, and kicked his legs with a sigh.
"Demon Lord, I want to hold you tightly but I can't stress you out with my problems when I know how large your own currently are." Heart said softly to the pillow.
The panda looked back at him blankly,
Heart scrunched up his nose, poked the panda on the nose, then cocked his head to the side and swiped at its face softly.
That didn't heal his frustrations inside him so he picked up the poor bear and punched the thing gently. The bear flew up into the air before landing with a single bounce and rolled away from him to the other side of the bed.
"Traitor. What? Even you are staying far away from me now? Is it so hard to keep you close without missing you so terribly."
"It's not Saint that I miss desperately. I only said I miss you because you are soft and warm." Heart told the bear, before pulling it to him tightly and squeezing it tightly. With a large sigh, he buried his head inside the stuffed animal and couldn't help but smirk.
The pillow still smelled like Saint. It was faint since it had been a month or more since he had stayed over and sprayed the animal with his perfume as a punishment to Heart. But the smell was comforting to smell here on his pillow when he felt so lost and unsatisfied.
Heart heard the door turn and push open, and he jolted awake, not realizing he had dozed off with his face plastered into Demon Lord.
"Yeah," he called, wiping a bit of his drool from his chin. He sat up and rubbed his hands through his almost too long hair.
"Heart?" Oh, were you asleep? Min asked, coming around the corner and seeing his face.
"Ah, yeah, I had dozed off for a second there. Sorry." Heart chuckled softly.
Min smiled but the smile didn't reach her eyes as she watched him like a mother hawk observing his every movement.
Heart didn't really know how to respond. It had been eight days and every day was further away and closer and closer to almost normal. He was back at school from his temporary absences and he had three exams left to do before winter break had begun.
He wanted to tell people he was fine that he was going to be okay, but he also didn't like lying and didn't know how he felt lately. Every day was sorta just spent existing, bouncing around from his daily necessities, minus the internship, and spending time at either the apartment or Ten's house.
He had gone to practice three times with Ten but other than that he really wasn't doing much of anything. Just studying and staying close to Min.
It was kinda what he told himself he would do, since he knew every person needs time to get back to normal. But he still wasn't sure how he could move forward daily without having every person who cared about him come and ask him if he was okay.
"Do you want to come to the new place with us? Tee bought some things for the babies' room and wants to take the stuff directly over there rather than having to bring them here and take them over there later."
"Why do things twice when you have the option to do them once, the right way. Am I right?" Tee asked peeking around the door too.
Heart chuckled.
"See this is why I am happy you said yes to him, finally." Heart said, emphasizing the Finally part, which didn't escape either of their notice.
"Tee is smart and will keep you properly behaved and not overworking yourself to death but instead doing less while you are pregnant with my two lovely nieces... Or nephews." Heart added.
"Since he is handy and can do literally everything." Heart said.
"I can't do everything." Tee intoned.
"I am only an amazing cook, and a mediocre anything else."
"Don't sell yourself short Tee. I remember just how bad this place was after we moved in, and just how nice it was after you made the sinks stop leaking brown goo from our faucet." Heart stated.
Min scrunched up her nose unhappily.
"Don't say finally, he only asked fifteen times. Fifteen! Not one hundred okay."
"I would have asked one hundred times. Do you want me to keep asking." Tee piped up.
Min turned and glared at him. "Also, never bring up the brown goop in our faucets. I don't think Tee ever found out what that stuff was and I think if you keep talking about it I will start to worry about all the times I drank the water before we started getting bottled water."
"Well if either of the babies ends up joined or with two heads we will know it was the water to blame."
Min looked at Heart terrified.
"Is it too late to send him back to wherever he has been hiding the past few months?" Min asked Tee.
"Awe come on you know I am kidding, besides push comes to shove I can feed the right side and he can feed the left." Heart teased, before walking over and hugging Min tightly in his arms.
"I won't be feeding the other side. I will be busy adding a second headspace to all their shirts because I would love our alien baby immensely. It's Min's after all."
Min sighed with disgust. "Don't sit there and encourage him with his stupidity." her face turned from sour to worried.
"This really wasn't the best place to raise any living thing... Oi, what was I thinking? I know that we were in dire straits... "
"But..."
"Aahhh what if some of the things we were exposed to here... it wasn't easy living life here for the past thirteen years... Ah, I don't know." Min stated upset.
"Awe Min Min, I was just kidding, of course, the babies will be fine.." Tee said immediately all of his teasing disappeared as he rubbed both of Min's shoulders trying to relieve the tension that was showing in them, as she tensed with worry.
Called him crazy, lost her mind, and berated him wholeheartedly.
