Hailey tossed and turned, she thought she would be able to sleep but Valerian's words kept on playing in her head over and over again. She tried to shake them off, she didn't care for what he had to say, so why were his words bothering her a lot. She became more and more restless as the hours went by.

A week had already gone by but the same words kept on playing in her head over and over again like a broken record. No matter how much she tried to justify herself nothing worked. Did she also need closure for that part in her life?

She saw Alex a bit more since they worked together and she didn't want to take things further until she sorted out her thoughts. It wouldn't be fair to him if she was with him and yet thinking of another.

Hailey wondered if she should come clean to Alex and maybe that would strengthen what they had or what they were going to have. Yet she felt as if it would drive them further apart, she couldn't tell him that she thought of another, that would maybe make him upset or hurt. She would have to find a way to solve this herself without bringing chaos.

Another thought crept into her mind, that she didn't want to analyze any further but it also kept on plaguing her.

Was she really okay with Valerian leaving for good? That's what she wanted, so why did she feel so bothered about it. When Monday morning came she slumped out of bed and showered. How one could feel so exhausted at the start of the day, baffled her. It felt as if her energy was already used up.

Hailey contemplated if she should call in sick but she thought against it, she needed to go to work so she could get a lot of things out of her mind or to momentarily forget all the thoughts that haunted her when she was alone in silence.

When she got to work, she immediately went to her office, she dove into her work the minute she sat down.

"Hailey..."

"Hailey?"

Hailey snapped out of her thoughts and she looked up to find Alex standing there.

"Yes, were you calling me?"

"I called you first on your phone, and when you didn't answer I decided to come to see what was keeping you busy. It seems as if you are really busy with your work."

Hailey looked at the watch and saw that it was two in the afternoon, way past her lunchtime. "I lost track of time."

"You shouldn't overwork yourself, Hailey."

"I won't."

"Anyways, I bought both of us some lunch,"Axel said whilst he was seating down.

"You didn't have to."

"I wanted to Hailey. I enjoy spending whatever little time that you have."

"In that case, thank you."

"You haven't been eating much lately or going outside."

"I have been taking my sleep seriously these days."

"I miss seeing you, Hailey."

"But I am here every day."

"You are here Hailey in person but not really here. I can see the daydream look in your eyes. And it has been happening a lot lately."

"I just have been caught up in my work lately."

"If you say, then I have to take your word for it."

When they were finished with their lunch. Alex got up, "I better get back to my office."

"Thank you so much, next time I will buy."

"How about tonight then? Dinner on you?"

"I can't tonight, Alex. I have some things that I need to sort out."

"Is everything okay? Do you need my help, Hailey?"

"No I am fine, it is nothing that I can't handle."

"Shout any time you need my help and I will be there."

"I will, and thank you again, Alex."

When Alex left Hailey knew what she had to do. The minute that she was done with her work she got up and went to the place she knew she had to go. When she arrived by Valerian's front porch she took a deep breath and rang the doorbell.

The door opened, "Valerian I...."

A voice that she recognized cut her off, "Not you again!"

"Charlize what...are ..you...doing...here?"
