Hailey finished the rest of her work and went to meetings that she vaguely remembered. She wanted to be done with this day. Her mind kept on drifting to Valerian, and she couldn't focus on anything else.

She kept on eyeing the paper with his address that he had given her when he left, she took the piece of paper and crumpled it, and threw it in the dust bin. There may be now she could work.

No matter how hard she tried to focus on her work, she couldn't. When night time came, she packed up her bag.

"Leaving already?"

Hailey looked up and saw Alex leaning against the door, "How long have you been standing there for?"

"Long enough to see you packing frantically."

"I am just too tired, and I had a long day. So I intend on going home and relaxing."

"Can I join you."

"Not tonight Alex, maybe tomorrow when I feel better."

"Okay." He came and placed a kiss on her cheek.

When Alex left, she finished packing up her bag and immediately went to the parking lot. When her car pulled up, she slid in and drove home. She looked outside at the city lights, she lowered her window a bit and felt the air caressing her face. It felt good and she savored the moment.

When she got home, she removed her work clothes and settled into her pajamas. She opened a bottle of wine and sat in front of the t.v, she scrolled through the channels but nothing seemed to interest her at all.

She settled on a channel that she had never watched before. She poured some more wine and drank. Her head swam, and she poured some more. Hailey remembered the look of sadness in Alex's eyes when she had rejected his company again. She put on her slippers and she called her driver.

She sat in the car as the driver drove down the night street. She felt woozy but she had to make it. To make things right.

Hailey stepped out of the car and went up to the front door. She rang the bell and waited for an answer, after a few moments the door opened.

"Hailey."

"Aren't you happy to see me?"

"Are you drunk?"

"Yes and clearly out my mind."

"Why?"

"Because I was supposed to go and see Alex but I ended up here Valerian."

Valerian chuckled and folded his arms.

"It's not funny."

"Well, you do look cute in your pajamas."

"Oh.."

"Do you want to come in Hailey?"

"I don't know what I want, I don't even know why I am here. I don't have anything to say now that I am here. Good question why am I here."

"So.."

Before Valerian could finish his sentence, "No I didn't say I wanted to leave. I don't want to leave. So don't tell me to leave Valerian. Don't you dare? Pretty please don't make me leave."

Hailey could see Valerian's lips moving but she had no idea what he was saying. All she saw was his lips. When he tilted his head, she also did the same thing.

"Hailey?"

Hailey couldn't focus on anything else, her eyes widened and but she couldn't help herself. She turned away, when she was about to scurry off she felt her hand being yanked back and his lips met hers.
