THAT DAY I BECAME A STAR

If there is one thing that pisses me off, it is waiting. I have been here for like what? Well, I don't know how much time but still, it has been too long. I even went back to the entrance that collapsed once to see if I could blow it up to get out but like I thought, if I do that then I will definitively be buried there. 

And waiting here is so boring. There are no noises, no sounds, and almost no light. The dome prevents most of the sunlight from entering so it is always like the end of the dawn here. 

"Krieekkk!!!" 

Finally, some movements!! I guess the soldiers have arrived.. I check by the window and as the place gets brighter, some Longinus position themselves at the entrance of the city. There is a Longinus on a building near the entrance as well. This is the first time I see him…or it. It has a human appearance after all.

"Another one of those strong bastards." He must be the same as those two super-strong ones I met before. 

That Longinus waves his hands around like he is synchronizing them and the others on the street, do as he wants. He must be the commander here. But then, why did we not encounter one at Oregon? Did he flee? Was he killed? This is suspicious. 

Suddenly, the Longinus looks in my direction. I immediately hide without closing the window. If I did, he would surely know that there is someone. I wait and wait and wait until the whole city returns to its dark state. Then, I close the window but soon after that.

"Hm…Strange. I am sure it was closed earlier." He is already here!!! Because there are too many Longinus' presences around, I didn't get to properly feel him getting close. "Could it be that somebody got past those failures?" 

Failures? Ah, yeah, the guys from earlier. They were failures? From what experiments? If this guy is participating in the experiments conducted by Veronica then I must find a way to capture him. 

"Alright, let's see who is-"

"Brrr…." Right as he is about to open the window, a Longinus comes and makes the same noise as a cat. Was that a dall? Wait, first things first, those things can make those sort of noises? It's true that I found one sleeping so it might not be that strange. Though it is creepy to imagine one doing that. I am much more used to the screaming.

"Ah, yes. The report, right? I should tell her that the preys have come as predicted. I hope she will be pleased and reward me after I get this over with.

Still, whatever it was, thanks. You just saved me from a lot of trouble. Also, he said she, right? That means this guy definitively works for Veronica. But how much of a monster has she become for a Longinus to be looking forward to her reward? This is getting weirder and weirder.

After that, a lot of time passed. I thought Frankher had already arrived since that Longinus said that the preys had arrived but it seems I was wrong. From time to time, I peek through the window but there are no changes. Still a ton of Longinus and no movements from outside. I wonder how many days have passed now. I went to check on the hole earlier but there were no changes as well over there. Now, after sleeping for I don't know how long, I am bored.

"Sigh… I am bored."

Should I go out and wreak havoc? Yeah, right. I am the one who will be wreak. And in less than a minute at that. Small fries aside. No, I can't say that since there are way too many of them…Anyway, that guy must be strong. He must be as strong as the first one who gave us so much trouble. But that's also a good thing. Now, I will get to see how much I have grown once I fight him…

Suddenly, I hear noises at the door of the building. I barely get the time to jump in the well that I hear footsteps entering. It would be better not to use Angas so I use a knife to stay inside the well without falling.

"Hm…Weird. You said you heard the noise of a delicious prey here?" 

"Brr…" 

"There is nothing, though." 

It's that guy again. Fuck. The beast which is accompanying him starts walking around. I hear it jumping here and there. Then, a cracking sound resounds. That thing must have busted my resting place. Shit.

"Brr…" 

"Don't worry. Everything shall return to ashes anyway. As it was from the beginning. Let's go then. The preys have come and the feast will start." 

They finally leave and as I get out of the well, the roof is collapsed. You could have at least spared that place, you fucking bastards.

"KRIEKKKK!!!" 

Abruptly, like sudden raindrops, the Longinus start screaming. They scream as madly and loudly as possible. This…This is a war cry.

"AOFAOGVODKVOA!!!" The powerful Longinus starts speaking in a language that I don't get at all.

"KRIEKK!!!" 

"AJAPDVB!!!" 

"KRIEKK!!!"

"VAOVJAPJBV?IV!!!" 

"KRIEKKK!!!" This would probably feel motivating if I knew what he is saying but since I don't care.

Then the dome gets lighter again the Longinus charge outside. The ground vibrates from them pounding it as they walk. This is an army marching indeed. 

The ground keeps vibrating and vibrating nonstop. The roof of the building finally collapses entirely and I am forced to get out of it. Thankfully, when I do, there are no Longinus in the vicinity. I jump on another roof and the guy is far from me. On the roof of the tallest building of the city. There is a Longinus dall next to him as well and some Longinus are still in the city, covered partially by the mist. The pillar emitting the ray of the dome is behind him. 

There are still a lot of them at the entrance going out.

"It seems he was right. There was a delicious feast for us waiting to be eaten. Tell me, delicious meal, did you come alone?" 

Even though he is very far from me, I can hear clearly. That an impressive voice he got. 

"Yeah, I did!!" I scream back then bring out my raizen. Let's start with the physical one and use the other when at the best time possible.

"I see. Then you will be mine alone. So as not to spoil my hunt." 

As he says that, the dall behind him sits down like K'nor and crosses its front legs. So this will be a one on one, huh. I should be happy since I will be able to measure my progress but I am not. I know that with all the crystals that are saturating my senses, I cannot properly feel his presence but still, it doesn't change the fact that he is strong. Moreover, I don't have access to draconic power right now, so I cannot be careless. 

"Let's us start then." I jump from roof to roof. It is better if he doesn't know I can fly for now.

"Yes. You must run. Run and exhaust yourself while struggling for your survival. Only then will you be a fitting prey to be feast upon!" 

His left arm then turns into a giant bow the same size as his body. Whatever he will shoot from that, if it hits me…

"And now, dance." He pulls the string with his right arm and as it is going back, a black line forms itself then flies like lightning as he releases the string.

"Shit!" The arrow leaves with a shockwave and I escape from it by the nick if time. Like I thought, this guy is strong. The building behind me that gets hit by the arrow is vaporized. It didn't just get destroyed, it got freaking vaporized!! 

"Oh…You have good reflexes. But is that all?" 

"Kriek-"

A vanguard comes out from the mist but dies right after that. I grab his crystals and continue running. The sound of another arrow being released and the shockwave that comes with it breaks the silence of the city and once again, I evade it without looking this time, though.

With the power and speed of those things, he shouldn't be that accurate, right? So as long a…No, I must not drop my guard. He could be faking it to bring me into his trap as well. 

A sloin comes out this time, but I evade his fang and stab through him from behind. 

"Kriekk!!" That didn't kill him though. I remove my blade and jump to the side and I hear the next arrow being unleashed. Right as I land, the arrow pulverized half of the building, the sloin included. 

"Ah, shoot. I thought I had you this time. You are a pretty tough one, huh. That's good." 

It's just that you are the annoying one.
