THAT DAY I BECAME A STAR

How can I still be this pathetic when Farner is waiting for me to come and save her?!! 

"Fuck!!" I regain my balance in midair and while turning to face the hammer hands, I spot the portal that the hammer hands has opened. It is covering half of the city. 

"This bastard." Why aren't the mortars firing at it? There are Longinus coming out of it and with that number, they will definitively be overwhelmed if they do nothing. 

"You still have the leisure to be distracted?!!" 

The hammer hands reaches me and punches the air once again. But I am tired of being on the receiving end. My body can still move so I will give you everything I have before it breaks. 

"Ahh!!! Sever the sky!!" I unleash my script with all the power I can and then use Disperse to reach the hammer hands.

"Your petty tricks means no-"

I manage to dodge his next punch then strike his ribs so hard the Longinus gear breaks. Weird enough, blood flows out of his wounds together with another crystal. 

"Uargh!" 

"Let's see now!! Who will break first!!" 

I start striking randomly everywhere and so does he. Every time I receive his attacks, I feel like my body will crumble to bits and melt. The pain is so intense I can't even see clearly in front of me anymore. But I can't let him use me as a punching bag anymore. 

"You are a sinner!! You cannot-Uargh!!" 

Stop talking and fight already! I don't even have the energy left t scream. I can and will only strike until you die. So hurry up and die. 

"Farner is waiting for me!!" 

Suddenly, the bastard dodges my strike and grabs my head while breathing heavily.

"The heroes? Huff…Huff…Waiting for you? They are all dead by now. Dilt should have already dealt with them. Huff… Besides, even your army is already losing. Huff…We…We have won. Our…Hufff…Our honor has been restored." 

"Your honor. Don't me make me laugh." I punch his arm then grab him by the waist. "I didn't even think of it even though it was so simple." 

"Unhand me, sinner!" 

He starts punching my head but I hold on as best as I can then fly downwards. Why was I even trying so hard to defeat you like some warriors or something? I am not an honorable person. As long as I can reach my objective, then it is fine. Even if you call me a coward.

"I said let go!!" 

The dark light once again appears around his fist. I mustn't let go, even if he blows my head away. When he strikes, my vision goes away, my hearing goes away. I don't know anything. But I will hold on. I will hold…

'You did well.' 

When my consciousness comes back, I am floating in the Angas pool.

"Damn. I really thought I was dead." 

'You were. Almost.' 

The hammer hands almost obliterated my head there I could have died for real if he manages to blast my head away. Thankfully, he only cracked my skull open.

"Where is…" I suddenly see crystals floating in the Angas pool as well. I guess that's what is left of him. "So, I won in the end." 

"You are a coward to the very end, yes." Thando's voice resounds near the position of the dragon. So he really was alive after all. 

"Are you okay?" 

"Does it look like I am okay?" Yeah, it's true that with only a torso and an arm left, you can't be okay.

"I am asking since you were crying earlier." No, wait, more importantly. "Willhem!!" 

I look all around and find him, still in the same position. I fly to him and thankfully, he is still alive. I remove the spike on his shoulder and bring him to the small island as well. 

"Hey!! You better not die, you hear me?!" 

"Urgh…" He is unconscious but still breathing. I heal him rapidly and his pale complexion rapidly changes. That's good. I have prevented the worst. 

"Fuuu…That's one thing which is taken care of. And now…" I look at Thando but he doesn't look like somebody who is trying to fight. His eyes are dead. Pretty much…like the old me.

"You aren't going to fight?"

"Just finish me off already. I don't want to hear your stupid voice anymore." 

"He betrayed you as well, right?" 

"Just finish me off, dammit!!" 

"Don't worry. I know that feeling. I know it all too well." 

"You don't know shit. You are just a murderer. You are the cause of all this. You deserve death." 

"And yet, here you are, begging me to end your life." 

"Grr…" 

"Anyway, since you can't fight, I have no reason to kill you." 

"Just like you killed my family and destroyed my town." 

"…Whatever you say." 

I stand up and go to the dragon who has been silently looking at me for the past while. He looks a lot like Dilt. But how did he manage to have a son?

"Nice to meet you, I guess. And thank you for the help earlier." 

"This guy doesn't speak. Don't bother." 

"I didn't ask you, Thando." 

'It is nice to see the Dragonroad indeed. I got worried over the time since my son got corrupted.' 

'May I ask you for your name?' 

'My name…I have forgotten it. No, it is more accurate to say that I discarded it when I failed to my mission.' 

'You failed?' 

'Yes, my son is trying to kill you in order to free me. Therefore, as the one responsible for giving him power, I have failed my mission that was to help and guide you.'

'Well, I don't really see it that way but…Why does he think killing me will free you? Is that the case?'

'No, it is not. But he comforted himself in that idea since I told him of your existence.' 

'Hm…Anyway, why is he in Floras now?'

'He wishes to kill the heroes in order to absorb the power of the goddess into himself and then kill you.' So he is the one threatening Farner then.

'Okay, I understand. Listen, I don't have a lot of time so I will go straight to the point: give me your power.' 

'No.'
