The Admiral of Hogwarts

#256 - Hogsmeade Tour

Almost all third-year students were talking about their first trip to Hogsmeade, and no one wanted to miss it.

A wooden box appeared in the Ravenclaw common room, and the young wizards only needed to put in their permission slips signed by their parents or guardians.

Every morning, this wooden box would grow four legs and trot out of the room, then go to Professor Flitwick's office to spit out the forms.

On this morning before Halloween, there were more people eating breakfast in the Great Hall than usual, especially the third-year students, almost all of whom were eating breakfast while chatting about what they would do after going to Hogsmeade.

Of course, not everyone was so happy. For example, Hugo saw Harry sitting at the table looking dejected, with Ron beside him seemingly trying to comfort him.

"Don't worry, Harry, you'll always find a chance in the future." After finishing breakfast, Hugo and the others walked to Harry's side and comforted him, "We'll bring you some of the local specialties."

"Thank you, but don't worry about me." Harry tried to put on an indifferent look, "I can use this opportunity to finish my holiday homework."

The group arrived in the Entrance Hall together, and then Harry said goodbye to everyone and returned upstairs. At this time, Filch was already waiting at the door, checking a long list, vigilantly staring at each face, not letting anyone who shouldn't go out slip through the door.

"Staying behind, Potter?" Malfoy shouted when he saw Harry going upstairs. He, Crabbe, and Goyle were all standing in the line. "Afraid of running into Dementors?"

"I think there must be something between Malfoy and Potter." Seeing this scene, Veneto's eyes flickered with strange light, "This kind of provocation is too much like a lovers' quarrel."

"But they're both boys—" Hermione, who was beside her, was taken aback by Veneto's words. After all, in the early 1990s, the atmosphere in Europe was still very conservative, and some things were not recognized by the public.

"Yes, but we should be tolerant—" Veneto had a compassionate expression on his face, looking full of sacred light.

"Okay, stop teasing my sister." Hugo said to Veneto through the Admiral Network, "You know, my sister likes to split hairs in many places. It would be troublesome if she took it seriously."

Soon, Filch finished checking the list and let everyone out. Hugo and the others' first stop was to follow the crowd to Honeydukes Sweetshop.

Honeydukes was crowded with Hogwarts students, and along the walls were shelves lined up one after another.

These shelves were filled with all kinds of tempting sweets: large slabs of creamy peanut brittle, shimmering pink coconut ice, rows upon rows of hundreds of different kinds of chocolates, a large barrel of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, a barrel of Fizzing Whizbees, and so on.

On the other side, the room was filled with various candies with special effects.

For example, Drooble's Best Blowing Gum, which produced bluebell-colored bubbles that wouldn't pop for days, Pepper Imps that made you breathe fire from your nose, Fudge Flies that made toad-shaped peppermint creams jump in your stomach, brittle sugar quills, and exploding bonbons.

"Vampires think this stuff tastes good." Veneto said, looking at a plate of lollipops with a bloody smell, "I heard there's also a top-quality one made with dragon blood, which can only be pre-ordered and can't be bought on the market at all."

After spending more than ten minutes shopping at Honeydukes, Hugo and the others squeezed out of the crowd and walked forward along the road. After only a few steps, Veneto pointed to a parchment in the window and said, "We need to hurry up a bit."

A notice was posted in the window, which read: By order of the Ministry of Magic, customers please note: Until further notice, Dementors will patrol the streets of Hogsmeade every day after sunset.

This measure is purely for the safety of Hogsmeade residents and will be canceled as soon as Sirius Black is recaptured. Customers are advised to complete their purchases before evening.

"It is indeed a bit bad, so we only need to take a look at the Owl Post Office from the outside, which will save a lot of time." Hugo said, looking at the notice, "But we must go to the Three Broomsticks. I heard they have the best butterbeer in Britain."

"Are you talking about beer?" Hermione leaned in and asked, "I don't think we're old enough to drink alcoholic beverages, at least not before fifth year—"

"You're right, sis." Hugo shrugged at Hermione, "But there's no alcohol in butterbeer. It's just a non-alcoholic beverage made with ginger."

Although they persuaded Hermione, they still didn't go into the Three Broomsticks pub because it was crowded with people. Fortunately, they finally found a good place to drink butterbeer.

After visiting the Owl Post Office, it was noon. After looking at the time, the three of them left the center of Hogsmeade and turned onto a small road to have lunch.

There was a small pub at the intersection. A dilapidated wooden sign hung on a rusty bracket above the door, with a picture of a severed boar's head, bloodstains seeping through the white cloth covering it.

This was Aberforth's Hog's Head pub, a good place for underground transactions. But Hugo and the others didn't enter, but continued forward past the empty doorway of the pub.

On the original open space of the Hog's Head pub, a two-story building with a turret stood there, and a burst of music faintly came from the house, followed by the aroma of food.

On the door of the small building, a sign spelled out the words "The Dockside Diner" in letters shining with magical brilliance, and next to the letters hung a red-painted iron anchor.

Pushing open the door, the sound of music and the aroma of food immediately became richer, and then a young waiter appeared in front of them: "How many guests are there?"

"Three." After Hugo finished speaking, he followed the waiter forward. The room contained small square tables for two or four people, separated from each other by brown partitions inlaid with glass. Soon, they were seated in a partition.

"This doesn't feel like the style of wizards." After hanging his robe on the back of his chair, Hermione looked around and said. "It feels more like the decoration style of those Michelin restaurants in London."

"Yes, this is the decoration style of Muggle restaurants." The waiter who brought them the menu said, "Our boss said that as a new store, she thinks differentiated competition can better open up the market."

"It seems your boss has quite a business sense." Hugo said, taking the menu. Because it was still about half an hour before meal time, the occupancy rate in the store was already close to 90%.

After ordering a few dishes full of exotic flavors, Hugo then ran to the back of the restaurant under the pretext of going to the restroom, and then met Rebuttal, who was waiting at the back door.

"I should have seen Sirius Black." Rebuttal said directly after seeing Hugo. "These days, we have been picking out edible leftovers to feed stray cats and dogs. The black dog that comes almost every day is likely to be Sirius Black."

"Don't act rashly yet." After hearing that Sirius Black had been found, Hugo thought for a few seconds, and then said. "You'd better lock down his current location first, and I'll find someone to talk to him when there's a chance."

"Don't worry about that, the Unicorn will complete this task." After hearing Hugo's order, Rebuttal said. "The other party's anti-reconnaissance ability is not weak, but he shouldn't have noticed the Unicorn's reconnaissance planes disguised as small birds."
