The Adventurer System

Chapter 166 - Inevitable

When the moment, both of them raised the transparent crystal. A red widescreen kept flashing in their eyes.

"Eh? It can't be--" Yumiro already had an idea, as it wasn't the first time the teleportation crystal didn't work.

However, he was still confused since Asarki said they could leave the Barlane dungeon whenever they wanted.

Bam!

Next to him, a woman who wore a white robe suddenly kneeled to the ground. As she also couldn't escape in this place.

So she quickly took a glance at Grim with wondered eyes. "Grim, what just happened? Why I can't use the teleportation function?" She said in a high voice.

He raised his shoulders along with his hands. "I don't even know."

Hippie annoyingly scratched her head and her legs making unnecessary movements. Seems like a child that couldn't give what it needs.

"We're doomed, we can not escape in this place!" Hippie yelled and her voice echoed all over the place.

"Calm down and stop being idiotic. It can never help to resolve this problem." He slowly kneaded his chin while thinking all the possible ideas of how they could get back in the Adventure Capital.

In his mind, even though they went into the Masterpiece's exit they did still not escape in this place. As the long bridge earlier was already destroyed by the strong explosion and the only way to reach the next surface was to fly.

"Do you have any flying skills?" He asked her nonchalantly.

"I'm a swordsman, Grim. It is impossible for me to cast magic at this point." Hippie worriedly explained.

He hummed. "Hmm... Is that so?" Then suddenly, an idea popped inside his head as she recalled something. "How about the surfboards? I see all the adventurers in the Capital could fly by using that surfboards."

She shook her head along with a sigh. "Grim, that surfboards it's too expensive. I can't afford an item that the price is ranging to 30,000 or 40,000 gold coins."

In the VR world, surfboards had the function to elevate by using wind crystals under them. So the adventurers usually used the surfboards as the main transportation.

Yet, a certain adventurer should learn how to control its magic power. To maintain its stability and speed: since its speed is based on how much mana do you have.

"Oh, you're right. We are doomed." He coldly responded.

It came to his mind to use his [Dropple feet] skill that he could mimic by just eating the Kobold's core. Hence, the Masterpiece room seemed elevated in the middle of this vast place. As a result, he couldn't determine how far the wall was around them or there was a wall in this place.

"Grim, what we should do?" Hippie hastily asked her, as she didn't want to spend most of her time in this kind of place.

"You should help me to think before I kicked you outside." He warned her with furious eyes.

To gather information, he sauntered closer to the podium position in the middle of the oval stage.

As soon as he stood up next to it, Yumiro saw some blank pieces of the puzzle with a note over them.

[Build the masterpiece]

-Collect the 10 remaining puzzle pieces inside the portals.

On the podium, Yumiro couldn't understand the image as its puzzle was broken. So he swayed his hand calling for Hippie to take out with this image.

"Come over here, tell me what can you understand about this." Yumiro said in a low voice.

She stood up and quickly went to Grim's location. "What is it?"

When the moment she standing next to the podium, she narrowly looking at it. "That's a crown, isn't it?" She pointed her index finger into the broken golden crown on the puzzle.

"Oh, you're right."

By hearing it, Yumiro understood this task was linking to his current quest. Nevertheless, the problem here is what the thing awaits them inside the portal.

"Hey, I'm going to enter one of these portals, would you come with me? Or did you want to stay here and wait for your body to decompose?" He mocked her.

"Of course, I'll come with you. B-But, please take good care of me!" Hippie begged, then deeply bowed her head. "I'm the breed winner in our house and I spent all my money to buy a capsule. Because as of now, the main source of income is this game." She said while her tears formed in the corner of her eyes.

Yumiro flinched, after hearing her reason why she decided to play this game. At this point, everyone has a reason why they desperately played this game. Even though they could harm other adventurers.

He tilted his head, then glimpsed at him with cold eyes. "Leave everything to me, I'll do my best to help you. But, I have a warning once I notice you're going to betray me, I'll never hesitate to kill you. I don't care who you are or is about with your family, always keep that in your mind."

After those words, he went and standing in front of different colors of portals.

She rapidly nodded her head, as she felt this man wasn't lying when he said he was going to kill her.

"I promise, I'll never do that. Betrayal is not of my principles, my grandparents raised me well so you can guarantee I'm not kind of that woman." Hippie gave him a piece of mind.

He shrugged his shoulder, then darted his in front of him. "If you say so..." However, Yumiro would watch her movements.

Both of them were looking at the portal which was obvious it would give a new perilous situation to them.

"Sooner or later the monster will attack us." Then he added. "So raise your guards, and don't intimidate if numerous respawn."

"Yes, Grim I'll try my best to become more useful in this expedition. Also, thank you for bringing me here, I just need to earn money no matter what."

Inside her mind, Hippie needed to earn money for her grandmother laid in the hospital for two weeks. In that long time, their hospital bills were increased bring up with all the maintenance medicines.

"We have the same situation, so if I were you try to collect all the non-valuable or valuable we could see. It can help to increase our profits here."

"Yes, Grim!"

After a few seconds, Yumiro was thinking about which portal they would take. Yet, he was having a hard time as he was thinking the color of the portal was represented something.

So to wouldn't think too much, he let Hippie choose a portal. "Hippie, it's your choice. Pick up any of those portals."

"Eh? Why me? It's a big responsibility I couldn't do that." She worriedly shook her head. "You're the party leader here, you must be the one who would make a decision."

"As you said, I'm the party leader. So I'm ordering you to pick a portal. Also, don't worry I won't blame you. I'm just not good at picking."

Inside his mind, every time he took a new path the situation there was going first. So he was thinking if Hippie picked the portal it could change the outcome of this expedition.

Hippie deeply sighed as she saw Grim was persistent with this. She stomped her feet walking in the portal.

"Don't blame, huh?! You're the one who forces me to do it." She then pointed her index finger at the orange portal.

"Yeah, yeah, it's fine." He slowly waved his hands as he didn't care about it.

"Let's take the orange portal, I could sense the monster here is weaker." Hippie said that seems like she was assured about this.

"If that's your choice, let's move in." He grabbed Hippie's shoulder as he wanted to enter first. "Once I enter you should follow me quickly because there's a chance we could separate from each other."??

As soon as Hippie hearing those words, she went closer to him and grabbed Grim's shoulders.

"If that so... Let me grab you in your waist. I don't want to separate from you." Hippie said and didn't notice she tightly grabbed him.

'What the hell?! She's off guard.' His face was suddenly reddened as he felt something soft on his behind.

"Hey, what are you doing here?!" He's was uncomfortable but he couldn't push her back. "Whatever."

"Grim, please enter in the orange portal."

Yumiro extreme heat crawling up to his head. "Jeez, this is annoying." He held Hippie's arm, then charged into the orange portal.

Click!

"Oh, crap!" Yumiro slipped and lost his balance, the main reason why they entered the blue portal. "Look, what you've done. We passing now in a different portal."

"Sorry, Grim. I just don't want to be alone in a perilous place like this." While passing the portal, she couldn't let her hands into him.

Bam!

When the moment their feet touched the surface, their eyes were dazzled at the strong sunlight.

"Hey! Hey! Why we are here in this place?"
