The Adventurer System

Xarki Guild is one of the well-known Guilds in the VR world, even if we talk about the fighting skills and how many life-taking quests they accomplished.

Vardo is the Xarki Guild captain, that still takes the position of being a top 10 Global rankers adventurer.

What are the requirements to have a position in the Global rankings? It has one answer, it was to challenge the adventurer in an official duel. Which is called "Orioan's Duel."

Yet, challenging a Global ranker, it's not that kind of easy. As you need to satisfy them why they need to accept your invitation. Or to be specific, the challenger needs to show valuable items like a rare magic scroll, upgraded sword, and armor, etc. This is the only way to have an official match.

If one of those Global rankers accepted the invitation for a duel match, they had one week to prepare and settle the match inside the arena. In the place that had different themes like; snow, desert, and even the rear of a volcano.

Then once the Global rankers lost from the match, their points would probably decrease and the challenger had the chance to take over their positions.

However, sometimes the prize of the winner depends on how the two adventurers discussed their rules and bet in the match.

On the other side, five members of the Xarki Guild allowed the system to broadcast their current expedition inside the mid-level dungeon.

Not to receive popularity from the adventurers who watching them, the reason was to show what were the true capabilities of the Xarki Guild.

They entered the orange portal which links to the other place. After a few seconds, they immediately teleported to the place where had a slightly dark sky and dripping of small cold particles.

So to weaken their fatigue and stiff movements because of the snow. Those adventurers suddenly changed their attire into new attire that could lessen the freezing passive effect.

"Be careful, we are already inside the mid-level dungeon. So if a strong monster approaches us, try not to destroy our formation."

A blue hair young man said. In his right grasp was the gleaming sword while his left grasp was a stunning shield. He was the party raid leader since he had a crown icon over his head. His screen name was Baltimore and Level 40 warrior.

In this party raid, all five members had levels that around 35 to 40. Yet, one of them was Harun the middle-aged man that Yumiro met in the Adventure Capital.

If you base in his outward appearance and bulk physique. You might think, Harun belonged to the defensive class or attack class. However, it was different. Since he had Grimoire in his hand that supposedly item for mage class or well known as the "Arcane."

The mage/arcane class has the ability to manipulate the four basics magical attributes in the VR world. Fire, air, water, and ground were the basic attributes.

Moreover, this class was specialised in making Aoe damages or poking an enemy which called single target (ST). Arcane/Mage class also could use a minor healing magic and debuffed skill that will affect the adventurer or monster base stats. And because of the high damage, they could release, they had tolerance for receiving an attack.

"No, this is bad. Why Captain Vardo assigned Baltimore to become our party leader? I shouldn't lower my guard." Harun murmured.

He knew what kind of behavior Baltimore had, which made him have doubtful thoughts inside his head. Nevertheless, he never let got noticed by his party members.

As far as they wandered around, the place temperature was starting to decrease, and their footprints were shaped to the snow surface.

The perilous dungeon was commenced to welcome the adventurers as the strong blizzard fetching on their faces. And because of this occurrence, they have a hard time seeing what was in front of them.

Everyone had a severe expression as they knew the monsters would approach them in no time.

"We must focus to accomplish our quest, and if you notice the dropped item can slow down our expedition, let it go. The scroll is our priority here" Baltimore said as his arm positioned on the top of his eyes to deflect those snow melted in his eyes.

"Yes!" They said at once.

"Mr. Baltimore, what is the exact scroll that we are looking for?" Feira said a woman had wands on her hand seemingly she was the cleric in this party.

[Cleric class] is one of the primary needs of a certain raid party. This class is responsible for debuffing and buffing each party member.

[Debuffing] it's one of the basic skills of Cleric class that would wash away the all bad effect it took from the damage. [Buffing] skill helps to awaken the true potential of a certain adventurer.

Even though the Cleric class isn't specialised in a close-combat match, still, this class is in demand for all the strongest guilds. Since once a guild had an excellent Cleric it could maximize the true potential of all its members.

"A magic scroll..." Baltimore smirked at her. "The quest said, this is the right place to look for it." Baltimore said and sharpened his eyes to gazed around.

The magic scrolls in the VR world was the fastest way to learned magic, but it cost a high currency exchange.

There were two different ways to learn magic. The first one was the magic scroll and the second one was to enroll in the magic academy.

The two other members look at each other and nodded a bit, one of them was Uru belonged to the Arches/Ranger class.

[Archer/Ranger class] specializes in mid-range and long-range combat. It had high mobility and high precision to take down a single target (ST) or AOE. An example of their weapons was a gun and bow that are suitable for their basic stats.

Then the last member was Grover that belongs to a Shielder class mostly known as Tank. This class role was to protect all the damaged dealers and immobilized the opponents by using their giant shield and high vitality (+VIT).

Boom!

2 hours had passed, then suddenly a massive collision happened in their route in the midst. While the force pushed them back.

[Solidify wind!]

But Harun was already aware of these instances, as he quickly cast a wind barrier for everyone to stopped it from perhaps damage.

"Nice cover, Harun. Everyone! Let's build again our positioning." Baltimore yelled to them then took the front line.

Baltimore and Grover were positioned at the front line as they had the capabilities to could last from the high damage attacks. While Uru and Harun occupied each side to maximize their skills to land a strong attack in mid-range combat. Then Feira positioned in the backline to observe her members if they need a buff.

Since Baltimore was the party leader he was responsible for making shot calls to his party members.

Boom!

Another expected massive collision occurred, but Harun had a high MP so it means he was capable to last long his wind barrier. "Don't move, let the monster reveal itself." Baltimore said while seeing the place was completely enveloped by the snow because of the unknown monster attack.

They already clasped their weapons just to be ready for the explicit occurrences from the monsters.

"It's showing, let's ready!" Since Grover took the front line he slightly saw the enormous body of the monster. "N... No, it's bad we should retreat for now." He said with a shivered tone.

As soon as the monster revealed itself everyone was stunned as they already knew that they facing strong monsters.

Pop!

On their every elevated screen a notification flashes to their eyes.

[Monster name <Polar bear>]

[Monster name <Polacrisis bear>: It was the 2nd evolution of polar that possess a strong physical body and some magical power.]

Unlike the Polar bear had white fur and sharps claws. The Polacrisis bear had a touch of black fur and it has two dark horns that sparking like an electric circuit.

Xarki guild stood up in front of two polar bears has 6 ft of height while the Polarcrisis bear has 10/ft of height.

Harun slightly bites his bottom of his lips as he knew this monster was hard to deal with, unlike, the other monsters he faces before.

"Ah, why I drowned in this kind of situation, but it can't help we need to clear this dungeon no matter what it takes." He uttered to his mind while checking how many MP potions were left inside his inventory. "10? I hope it will last before until the very end." He closed the screen and pinpoint to the monsters.

But on the other hand, Baltimore seemingly doesn't look wanted to withdraw from this monster. 'If I succeed in this expedition, there's a chance that I could attain Mr. Vardo's trust' He seems to smile while he was under the pressure. 

"No, Gover. We're adventurers and this is our adventure if we are afraid to face this monster we never grow." He brings out his sword without any hesitancy.

Somehow, his party members were encouraged by his words as they showed a strong desire to their eyes.

"Yes, our party leader was right. I want to step on Heaven's Dream and if didn't take this challenge I would never have a chance to step on it." Uru said while pulling the string in his bow.

"That's the spirit." Baltimore keeps encouraged them even he felt bad about his decisions.

Zzzzz!

Then suddenly the Polarcrisis bear charges an electric current in its horn enable for the adventurers to get alarmed in their positions.

"Hey! Let's hide for now. Harun and Feira try to cast again the barrier this is bad!" Grover yelled while his expression couldn't be expressed by his face.

Shizzzkkkk!

Boom!

A tremendous explosion occurred in the area, and everyone watching them had a severe expression.

"They probably died!"
