The Adventurer System

Two adventurers wandered through the Rank-F forest, where the area began to be surrounded by thick mist as the trees around them stopped releasing a breeze sensation, causing the mist to remain in a specific position.

"Grim, let's stick together because it's difficult for us to fight back if we can't see our surroundings. And I'm aware that you've already received the same quest as I have." Roshy expressed her concern in a worried tone.

After she spits those words, a new notification appeared in front of Yumiro's eyes, along with the dinging tone, from the system.

Ding!

[A new quest has arrived! Victory over the Red Boar!]

[Rewards: +500 experience points, +200 gold coins,]

"Grim, be cautious. The system is teaching us how to fight the monster using only our instincts." She warned the man next to her that the area was engulfed in mist.

He gave her a nod. "Yeah, you're right..." Then he realized his nose had detected a rotten odor that had quickly spread throughout the area. So he pinched his nose to try to mask the odor, but it didn't work because he could feel the monster's presence rushing towards them at breakneck speed.

Shreek!

It appears that the monster stepped on the dried leaves. It was loud enough for them to know that the boar was close by.

Roshy drew her sharp sword right away. "What are you doing, Grim?" She furrowed her brows when she noticed Grim bouncing like a kangaroo and shifting the position of his feet at a rapid pace.

Yumiro's strength and agility were greatly enhanced as a result of his use of all free attributes, which was the primary reason he felt his body was as light as cotton.

"Eh? You didn't notice that I was simply changing my foot position, so the monsters couldn't predict my movements." He said in hushed tones, eager to exterminate the monster in front of him.

Roshy, on the other hand, didn't seem to want Grim Draigh to help her kill the red boar, despite her curiosity about this man's abilities. In her mind, if she lets Grim go, they'll run into two major issues. For starters, if Grim failed to knock down the monster, he could be the one to take the casualties, or in other words, to be killed. The second issue was that Grim didn't have a weapon to use, which meant the monster could last by his attack, and he had a tendency to lure all the monsters in their location.

"Grim, I'll take the front line, and you'll take the backline to serve as my support. We should be able to dispatch the monster in an instant." She explained in a gruff tone, then swiftly pointed her sharp sword to the location where she had learned of the monster's existence.

"I'll just be there to support you? Okay, no worries?" He came to a halt in his flashy pace and looked into Roshy's desire eyes.

"Thank you, and please relax in your current position. Allow me to handle this one." She then dashed inside the mist, swinging her sword to create a force powerful enough to blow the mist away. "It's pointless because they keep spreading. I'm just squandering my energy here."

"I think I should follow her." Yumiro followed Roshy as she made her way to her destination. In his opinion, this was the best way to assist her if she was in a dangerous situation.

It had been two minutes. "Where is the Red Boar--?" Roshy couldn't finish her sentence because, from behind the thick mist, there appeared to be yellow glowing eyes staring at her. Then, gradually, it began to reveal the monster's appearance.

It had red fur, a bulky body, and three horns, two of which were placed beside its mouth and one on the center of its forehead.

Rawr!

Roshy's presence inside the Red Boar's territory elicited a growl from the monster. Furthermore, the red boar launched the first attack by charging at her with great speed. The monster appeared to want to pierce her body with its razor-sharp horn.

[Monster skill: Tackle> can deal 40% damage to your health power by using his speed and massive strength.]

Roshy changed the way she wielded her sword. She then moved it in front of her to block the monster's [Tackle] skill.

Bam!

As Roshy successfully blocked the monster's attack, the red boar horn screeched at her keen sword. She couldn't handle the red boar's strength, though, because her arms shivered along with her sword, and her feet slid back.

She gave her a glance. "What the hell? Nothing is visible to me." She tried to check her back for any sharp objects that could pierce her body, knowing she wouldn't last much longer with the monster's strength.

Bam!

Her back barely whacked on the flat texture of the tree, and her HP was easily reduced by 10%. Even though she didn't feel any pain in the VR world, her desire to stabilize her VR character was triggered.

She coughed as red blood spitted out of her mouth. "I decided to take over this boar from him; he'll laugh at me if I fail this simple quest." She bit her lower lips before quickly regaining her footing.

[Dashing slashes!]

Her sharp sword glowed in the dark with a hint of blue. This appeared to be the skill of certain adventurers with greater strength than the basic attack.

Yumiro mistook it for a magical ability, but it wasn't. It was just a buffed skill that increased her sword's partial strength and movement speed.

Yumiro raised his brows, impressed by the scenery in this vast forest. "Oh, what is it?"

She could feel the breeze touch her skin as she dashed, wanting to aim the monster core.

Swish!

Some blood flowed from the monster's neck, but her sword didn't go much deeper. As a result, the monsters had an opportunity to counterattack and quickly stabbed Roshy's abdomen with its horn.

[Your health is reduced by 30%, your HP is 66]

Roshy's health power had already been reduced by half after only 5 minutes of fighting, which made Yumiro uneasy.

"Why is she having such a hard time?" Yumiro muttered something.

She shouldn't always rely on her HP potion because it only had a 40% regeneration effect, and when she gained more vitality, the HP potions couldn't compensate for all of her health point losses.

"Inventory!" She drank again another potion.

[Player name: Roshy HP: 110/110]

She intended to run again using the same strategy because she was embarrassed by her mistakes.

"It's my turn, step aside," he said as he stepped into the fray. As there was a chance Roshy would end up using all of her options, which could be harmful to newcomers like them.

"Huh? I've only just begun! Please step aside!" She continues to tug on Yumiro's shirt, causing some of it to rip.

"No, that's enough! You're a daring woman, and every time I see your swordplay, I can tell it's subpar."

Roshy lets go of her sword as she hears those words. She was aware, but she was too afraid of making a mistake.

"This is also a game. I don't want to see other people get hurt in front of my eyes; if you want to die, go somewhere else." Yumiro spoke in hushed tones and dashed inside the mist that obscured his appearance.

"Grim?" She bowed slightly, her hand resting on his brow with sparkling eyes.

2 minutes had passed, then a new widescreen appears in their eyes with dinging sounds.

Ding!

[Quest completed!]

"What?! He already killed the red boar!" She widened her eyes then rushed to Grim's location.

In her mind, Grim was cheating since he easily annihilated the monster.

On the other side, Yumiro pondered in the widescreen flickered his eyes.

"Yes!"

Then suddenly his body emitted a massive radiance that no one could stare at. So he used his hands to protected his eyes.

After a few seconds, his Zexel has totally awakened.
