The Alpha King

Xavier and I made our way down to the basement/cells that he had in his mansion. Xavier informed me that that was where they held any prisoners. Seeing as Xavier rarely ever visited this mansion of his he had people who ran it and it was also used for council meetings and all this other werewolf stuff sort of like a headquarter or embassy.

As we went down the stairs leading to the basement Xavier took ahold of my hand in silent reassurance and I squeezed his back.

My heart was pounding and I was honestly so nervous. What if this was part of Cadmers plan? What if he wanted us to catch Adam? Was this his way to capture me again?

I couldn't help but think that it was to easy, catching Adam was to easy and why?

We walked to the end of the hallway where cells on either side where empty. I immediately noticed two weres standing guard outside the cell right at the very end of the hallway and I couldn't help but shiver. Just the thought of seeing Adam so suddenly makes me feel sick I can't even think straight. If it weren't for Xavier's hand supporting me right now I would of collapsed.

Xavier strode ahead and I was slightly behind him, he continued to hold onto my hand.

Xavier's breathing increased and I noticed his stance became increasingly aggressive. I didn't even have to look into his eyes to know they were filled with murder and rage.

" Open the door," he demanded and the guards obeyed immediately. Mumbling a quick thanks to them I stepped inside the cell and came face to face with my once best friend.

My heart really hurt.

Adams face was heavily bruised and battered but I felt no sympathy. He looked straight into my eyes and continued to stare at me, completely ignoring Xavier.

" YOU DARE LOOK AT HER?!" Xavier bellowed completely breaking the tense silence. Adam causally glanced at him as if only now noticing his presence.

Xavier didn't miss the disrespect and growled low and threateningly in his throat.

Adam was so stupid he actually had the guts to scoff at him and in the blink of an eye Xavier was before him with his fist enclosed around Adams throat.

Xavier was shaking, he was beyond any reasoning at this point. I stood still in slight shock at his menacing behaviour and how utterly terrifying he looked. His power filled the cell easily and it became so overwhelming that I knew I had to bring him back to some sort of reasonable behaviour before he kills Adam who happened to be our only lead at this point!

I quickly walked up to where Xavier was leaning over Adam, who sat chained in a chair, gasping furiously for breath. He was turning purple and his veins began to pop out, he looked like he would burst any second now.

I touched the back of Xavier's shoulders to try to get his attention but he continued to choke the life out of Adam so I said his name out loud and that finally drew his attention away from Adam.

With his fist still enclosed around Adams throat he turned his head sideways at me and his eyes were so dark blue they almost looked black in fact I think they were black.

I sucked in a quick breath and touched his face.

" Xavier...please come here for a second...I-I need you," I said softly. I didn't know what else to say to shake him out of his bloodlust.

He tiled his head to the side a bit, a complete animalistic thing to do and then his eyes slowly started turning back to a lighter shade of blue. He thrust his fist forward and Adam still chained to the chair went flying backwards onto the ground.

I heard his shriek of surprise and his rapid gasping of breath but I couldn't care less.

Xavier walked towards me and then he walked a bit faster and hugged me while putting his face into my neck.

" Sorry..." I heard him mumble into my neck. I sighed and told him it was fine. We stayed like that for a bit and when Xavier removed his face his eyes were back to silver and he looked calmer, more composed at least.

Taking his hand I said,

" We can't kill him yet okay."

He nodded his head at me and went to where Adam was still on the floor. He bent a bit and abruptly picked the chair and Adam along with it up.

Adam looked wildly at us and was still slightly purplish with Xavier's huge hand print around his throat. I'm sure Xavier could of easily broken his windpipe but wanted Adam to suffer for as long as possible.

" Listen... and listen carefully. I will only ask you something once and I expect an answer. If you fail to give me any of my answers I will inflict the most agonising torture upon you that you will in the end wish no beg me for your death. Do you understand?" Xavier said with lethal calm now opposed to his lethal fury only moments before and I don't know which one was more scary.

" Yes," Adam bit out between clenched teeth.

" Adequate, now tell me where Cadmer is."

Adam visibly paled at that and began to shake slightly I'm guessing in fear either from Xavier or what Cadmer would do to him if he betrayed him.

" I-I..."

" You what?!" Xavier spat.

"I don't know!" Adam almost screamed. I realised that Xavier didn't even need to use any torture weapons because my god his mere presence right now was petrifying. If I wasn't his mate I think I would of run for the hills screaming.

I think Adam was even more petrified due to the fact that we both knew Xavier was hanging on by a thin thread and one wrong move and Adams head would go rolling.

" What did you just say?" Xavier asked softly and moved even closer to where Adam was sitting. Adam shrunk back and closed his eyes as Xavier leaned closer and whispered something in his ear.

" I-I...S-Swear I don't k-Know!" Adam stuttered.

Before Xavier could lash out and do something we both would regret I said sternly, " Xavier".

He stopped mid way with whatever he was about to do and drew back away from Adam with a snarl.

I was getting tired of this. Adam needs to start talking or else Xavier is going to lose his cool and kill him and that can't happen.

Walking away from the wall in front of them I walked up to where they were. I ignored Xavier's warning look to stay back but before I could saw anything Adam quickly started sprouting utter nonsense.

" Tori I'm so so sorry please please can you forgive! Please understand that what I did was because I didn't know any better and and Cadmer he-he well I-I was so scared to disobey his orders and yes at first I was just doing my job but then I got to really know you and and I began to care for you so mu-"

" ENOUGH! " Xavier roared furiously.

" ENOUGH OF THIS BULLSHIT!" He roared again when Adam went to open his mouth but shut it real tight at Xavier's stare.

" I agree." I said calmly once again but inside I was fuming. How dare he confess he cares about me! How dare he! I stepped closer to Xavier and stood slightly in front of him about two or three footsteps away from Adam.

" Adam listen closely. I don't care for your proclamations of caring because it's fucking bullshit like Xavier said and I will never, not ever forgive you for what you did. But if you really mean it or if even care for your own life then you are going to tell us every single thing about Cadmer that you know.

You are going to tell us about his plans and his motives and his hideouts and everything because if you don't then that makes you useless to us and I therefore do not have any need of you. I will walk out of this cell immediately and leave you to the mercy of my mate.. Do I make myself clear?" I said staring directly into his eyes not flinching once nor letting a single emotion of how shaken I was just being this close and having to threaten him show on my face.
