Nancy's POV

I got out of the shower. And still didn't know what to wear on my first day at a real school.

It will be nice not to be called a freak, well I ended up dressing like me. I grab a pair of jeans and a round-neck 't-shirt with a pair of sneakers.

"Dad, I'm ready can we leave now?" I ask putting my last book into my backpack.

"Seriously Nancy" my mum yelled. I know she didn't like my outfit. I'm used to pants and 'T- shirts' because I stay home all the time.

Mum bought me a lot of clothes but I feel uncomfortable in them.

"Cindy that's okay I'm sure Nancy was in a hurry to dress up, you look great honey" my dad whispered.

I know it was a lie. I don't remember the last time I saw my own reflection in the mirror.

"Thanks, dad"

I replied gently, having a second look at my own outfit.

"Come here I got you these shoes they will fit you perfectly and look at this honey this top will look much better on you than your mum will you like to try it?"

he said with a wide smile that I couldn't say no. He wanted me to change.

"Yes dad" I took the top and changed. It was not loose like my 't-shirts but I love it.

I changed my sneakers to flat shoes. They were perfect and it felt good.

"You look beautiful honey" my dad awes as he holds my hands to sit. He is my dad, he will love me either way.

He took off the cap I had on, untied my hair, and combed it slowly. My mum was watching us from the kitchen and she had tears in her eyes.

She insisted my dad let her fix my hair but he refused. He didn't know what he was doing but I love him for doing it.

"Does it hurt honey?" he asked.

"No dad but at this speed, I guess we won't finish today"

I joked as they both laugh and my dad sniffs and let my mum take over. For the first time, I had my hair loose around my neck.

My dad left my backpack and my jacket

behind the car seat. "Bye mum, love you" I kissed my mum goodbye.

"Bye princess love you more" she kisses and hugs me back

"Dad let go," I said, trying to jump into the front seat.

"Today you are driving to school by yourself," he said as he handed me over the car keys.

"Dad what?"

"Yes princess, your mum and I wanted it to be your 18th birthday surprise but on second thought I don't want people thinking you are still a daddy's girl.

We found out most college girls in this town drive their own cars.

Your mum and I didn't want you to feel any less from them. Now hurry jump in you are running late" my dad whispered as he helped me put on my seat belt.

My mum joins him. "Off you go princess" I started the car and took off. I saw them waving behind me.

Akins University College is not a huge school. It happens to be the only college in the town and most about 99% of the town's folks schooled there.

I got to do little research about my new school last night.

I didn't know it would be this hard to find a place to park.

After several minutes of searching, I finally found a small spot under a tree to park.

The space was small but unfortunately for me, I scratched the truck on my left.

I was relieved when I realized there was just a small scratch on my car practically invisible if you don't have a closer look at it.

I turned to examine the other car that had a scratch. My bad the damage was huge.

People started gathering around. They were whispering among themselves.

It looks like I was in trouble.. The owner of the car must be a bitch or a dick.
