"How good to see the great king here. Oh, I see a guest as well. My honor to meet the great king, Lord Alexander." suddenly they heard a voice out of nowhere.

...

Gerard's eyes were fixed at his front, showing no interest to look at the person whereas Alexander's immediately pin pointed from where the voice came. He gave a deadly stare at the man standing near the stairway; a floor above them. Dressed in all black, his black eyes stared back at Alexander. His facial features were not at all impressive but the aura around him was dominating. But nothing compares to Alexander. The man started climbing down the stairs, intentionally putting pressure on each steps so as to show his dominance. The click clack of the shoes echoed in the empty house. Alexander could easily hear the man's heartbeat which was steady but loud. He tried to supress his nervousness and acted all fine... this is what Alexander observed.

"Pleasure to meet you, Lord Alexander." the man took his right hand forward for a handshake but soon withdrew it.

"Oh sorry, let me introduce myself first. My name is David." his face broke into a formal smile as he went forward for a handshake.

Looking at the hands Alexander calmly put his hands in his coat's pocket. He would never touch that hand which killed his brother Jacob. The very presence of this man was irritating. Alexander maintained his calm as he wished to kill this person right away. But no, he had already planned for something more torturous and painful.

Looking at how his hand was still waiting for the handshake, Alexander smirked.

"It's definitely nice to meet you, David." chills ran down David's spine when he heard icy cold voice. His hands slightly trembled when he retracted his hands back to his side.

"David, we have something to discuss." Gerard finally spoke.

"Sure, why not? Let us move to the room." David turned around to head towards the room.

"We will talk here." Gerard ordered.

Turning around David titlted his head, his lips pursed.

"Are you afraid, Milord?" he smiled and gritted his teeth at the same time.

When Alexander watched the sinister smile form across David's face, he already understood that this person wouldn't be easy to handle.

"We aren't here to waste time." Gerard couldn't control his temper. This man was annoying.

"I will respect your decision this time. Next time don't forget to ask your servants to serve us tea. We will have a tea party." David started walking towards them till he reached Gerard. They were separated by hardly half a meter.

"I know why you have come here. Let me tell you, I cannot be punished. Do whatever you wish to but I will be proven innocent in the end." he whispered... loud enough for three of them to understand.

"Oh finally! The time has come. Thank you for raising the topic on your own." Alexander mocked as he walked forward and gestured David to step back.

"Five steps back, David."

"It's been ages... why are you still after it?" David questioned, his lips twitched in irritation.

"Why did you kill her?" Alexander questioned back.

"Well, I would've spared her life but she was too stubborn. It was painful seeing her die but it was necessary you know..." David stare never left Alexander's eyes.

"And who are you to decide?"

"She was supposed to be my lover. But that son of a b**ch possessed her. He took away her from me. But--"

"Oh well, the very reason why you killed Jacob because he was superior to you and you were a no match to compete with him. You felt insecure... you were threatened by his capabilities. Why would Emilia choose someone so lowly when she had a prince falling for her?" Gerard could no longer supress his anger and blurted out harsh words. But truth can never stay hidden.

The obsession and passion of David took away two lives.

"She was my student and I trained her to be the next head warlock but what she did? Reject my proposal? She was ungrateful!" David started to tremble as he spoke. His biggest insecurity was being disclosed in front of him which he could hardly accept. He loved her so much to the extent that he was ready to give his everything up just to spend the rest of his life with her. But in return he got betrayed.

"Sh-she used to talk nicely to me! She must have loved me or why would she talk so nicely to someone she doesn't love!?"

"She was nice to everyone. Sh--" Gerard got interrupted.

"NO! She only loved me! But then everything changed when Jacob came in her life. I should have killed him before they met. I regret killing him after she got pregnant with his child." David gritted his teeth. A vein on his forehead became clearly visible which showed how mad he got.
