The Birth of a Villainess

"Why is this not moving?" Lin Xiaofei heard the overly familiar voice of Qu Xing Xu from the other side of the door.

'What is he doing here? Wasn't he supposed to be teaching the boy right now?' Lin Xiaofei's eyes bulged in surprise as she hurriedly put all the items back inside the box.

She didn't care if she didn't put them in their original order and closed the box immediately as the door was forcefully opened under the pressure of Qu Xing Xu's strength!

'Damn it!' How could she forget that the man was a beast and do not follow reasons?

Lin Xiaofei panicked and when she closed the box, her hand was accidentally bitten by the edge of the box, drawing blood and cutting it.

"Ah!" She shouted in shock and pain.

"What's wrong?" Qu Xing Xu lazily strode inside acter breaking the door connecting their rooms and some part of the wall. His strength was simply immeasurable.

However, his tone carried a sense of concern as he walked towards her and saw how she clutched her hand above her chest.

"Don't you know how to knock?!" Lin Xiaofei murderously glared at him.

"I did. I knocked and called out your name a couple of times." Replied Qu Xing Xu, earning another glare of daggers in his direction. 

Qu Xing Xu called her name and knocked a couple of times but got no answer from her side. The door was also blocked from the other side. He wondered what she was doing and when he remembered that she almost died from both being drowned and assassinated, he risked forcefully opening the door.

"You could've waited for me to answer… What would you do if I was changing clothes? If I was doing something!" By this time, Lin Xiaofei was fuming. Not only because she was almost caught by him, but also due to the fact that Qu Xing Xu was beginning to forget that she needed her privacy.

Instead of being guilty and apologizing, Qu Xing Xu's eyes gleamed brightly. "Were you changing? I see that you don't have your maids with you, why don't I help you?"

"You…" Lin Xiaofei was already bleeding from the cut in her hand but with the way Qu Xing Xu was acting, it won't be long before she starts coughing blood!

Why did she even think that this guy could turn out to be the oriole? He's nothing but a shameless man who can't control himself!

Lin Xiaofei controlled herself instead. It wouldn't do her any good if the news that someone found her killing the Duke of Xin was found out immediately after she committed the deed.

Besides, Lin Xiaomeng would surely have no face to show if she ended up killing Qu Xing Xu. The last thing she wanted to happen also was to implicate others for a meaningless murder.

"Get out." She lowered her voice intentionally as she tried to keep herself sane. 

Qu Xing Xu stood still as he was surprised to see her becoming really angry at him.

"Xia-Xiaofei, don't be angry anymo-" Qu Xing Xu started but one glare from her was enough to shut him up.

"Just get out." She told him, her voice was filled with the promise of death.

But to Qu Xing Xu, what he heard was full of rejection and her hatred for him. That terrified him the most as this could even make her turn away from their contract and marriage.

He wanted to go to her but he was forced to get out. With the way she was looking at him, it would be bad if he stayed.

However, what if he left and that angered her more?

Qu Xing Xu heard that women were quick to change their moods. That is why he became anxious that this was a test for him. A hurdle he needed to pass so he could officially be a true husband.

On the other, Lin Xiaofei had no idea what was on his mind. She was actually growing nervous the more Qu Xing Xu stayed inside the room. She was indeed angry at him but she was more overwhelmed with the fear that he would take notice of the box on top of the table.

She sneakily stepped forward and used her body to block his view of the box. She stood stiffly with the table behind her as she monitored his reaction and movements.

The two of them had different thoughts and different views of the situation.

However, her bleeding hand seemed to not care about it as the blood continued to flow and drop on the floor.

Almost instantly, Qu Xing Xu finally took notice of the blood and got worried even more.

"You're bleeding!" He said and strode towards her.

Lin Xiaofei panicked and stopped him by raising her hand and said, "It's nothing but a paper cut."

"It doesn't seem to be it though…" Qu Xing Xu didn't believe her as the blood seeped through her sleeves. "Let me see it." He told her and didn't wait for her to refuse him.

He took her hand and checked it. He was right. It was indeed not a papercut as a cut like that wouldn't appear as if something bit her.

But strangely, it also didn't look like it was a bite from an animal or human as no teeth marks were left behind on her skin.

By no time, Qu Xing Xu had pulled her to the bed. He let her sat on it as he cleaned her wound and his complete attention was on her injured hand.

Meanwhile, Lin Xiaofei's attention was taken by the box still sitting on top of the table. 

"You should be careful." He told her as he continued to clean it. Qu Xing Xu made sure that he was being gentle with her and not hurting her further.

"I can do this by myself. You just go back to your room." Lin Xiaofei wanted to take her hand away from him and push him but he didn't let go.

Qu Xing Xu frowned. "I can't do that. What if whatever injured you contained poison? It is better if I order someone to call the physician inside to see if you're really alright."

"I'm not made up of porcelain. I don't break that easily." Lin Xiaofei helplessly shook her head at him being so concerned over a small cut.

Qu Xing Xu raised his head to look at her, meeting her eyes, and said, "I never said you are. However, don't forget that you're mine."
