The Birth of a Villainess

Both Wu Jing Yan and Song Yan Yi turned around to see a healthy-looking young female, smiling at them.

Lin Xiaofei stood with her hands folded in front of her and didn't look troubled about anything that might give them any inkling that she suffered last night.

She was still wearing a black dress that made her already white skin even paler and it didn't make her complexion look unhealthy.

Seeing this, both two madams were taken aback and didn't get to answer swiftly as they were confused at why was the fourth miss of the Lin family could still walk freely and lively.

Upon seeing Lin Xiaofei, Steward Liu was petrified. He planned to make some excuses for the two madams and lie to them about the person hanging on the beam. He couldn't let his masters know he failed his mission and it was likely that someone from the Lin residence who hanged the body specifically in the Western Courtyard, where both two madams would frequently hang out.

However, before he could even come up and speak of his excuses for the two madams, Lin Xiaofei arrived without any problems and was smiling down on them as if nothing happened last night.

Steward Liu also wished nothing happened last night and only it was Ke Song who changed the schedule for their plans, however, with the corpse behind them and the beautiful and untainted young lady in front, Steward Liu's heart was restless.

He looked at the two stunned madams and lowered his head in fear of having his head chopped off for the fiasco.

Wu Jing Yan frowned at the sudden appearance of Lin Xiaofei, underlying fear and confusion were starting to bloom inside her.

"Fourth Young Miss," Song Yan Yi called out the name of the young lady in front of them. She was also very curious about how Lin Xiaofei could still come to this place when in fact, she should be sulking in her room after being tainted by a flower thief.

Once they heard that, the servants gathered behind Steward Liu and the two madams were stunned. The crowd dissipated once her words landed as they fear that they would lose their job that pays well just because their Fourth Young Miss reported them to Lin Xiaomeng.

Knowing that Lin Xiaomeng doted on her, they naturally didn't stay for long and went about their ways, carrying their brooms and barrels, and left without looking back.

They long knew the bad blood going on with the Lin family had against Lin Xiaofei. No matter how much they wanted to watch and listen to this confrontation, they also wouldn't dare get involved with this matter or else, their jobs will be at stake and they will get the short end of the stick.

The servants excused themselves and bowed their heads before silently rushing to leave the Western Courtyard.

Steward Liu wished he could do the same as the other servants, but the fact that he was truly involved in the matter, he could only stand there and see the outcome of the fight.

As for the corpse behind, he naturally just have to deny its connection with it and pretend he didn't know anything.

However, unlike how the servants reacted, both two madams were quick to cover up their expressions to hide their real emotions. When their eyes fell on the corpse hanging on the beam, they noticed Steward Liu's dark face and understood what was happening there.

Song Yan Yi's heart leaped and asked the young female who appeared unaffected with the corpse present in front of them, "What does Fourth Miss mean by that?" She swallowed hard, "This… Was this father's idea?"

"Not exactly," Lin Xiaofei smiled at them and didn't deny it, "Grandfather's men found that vile man walking near my courtyard last night and was suspicious thus, they apprehended him and punished him. I heard that he claimed to be a servant from my courtyard, however, how can I not recognize the faces of my people?"

She looked at them and continued, "Thankfully, my maidservants informed me of this suspicious individual and alerted my grandfather or else, who knows what kind of horrible thing would happen if he entered my courtyard. Naturally, grandfather punished him and as for the hanging… I only suggested it to grandfather,"

As if they were struck with lightning, Wu Jing Yan and Song Yan Yi, as well as Steward Liu were rooted in their places, they couldn't believe what they had just heard and felt fear creeping inside them as their eyes trailed on the corpse hanging on the beam.

It was crystal clear what Lin Xiaofei meant by her words.

Their evil intention failed and it was found out by Lin Xiaomeng, hence, he decided to go along Lin Xiaofei to warn off the people who will try to harm his granddaughter.

He never reciprocated when they try to argue with Lin Xiaofei, but it seems that today was different and made things public.

However, they couldn't understand why Lin Xiaofei was so honest with it and even told them?

Of course, Lin Xiaofei was not afraid of anything. She didn't want to be like these pretentious people hiding behind their masks.

She didn't need to hide and pretend.
