The Birth of a Villainess

Upon returning to the Lin residence, Lin Xiaofei was pulled inside her inner courtyard by Bai Lu and Su Tang and was bombarded with questions.

"Young miss! Where did you go?" Bai Lu sniffed and held her young miss' hands as she checked for any signs of injury or dirt that fell on Lin Xiaofei before heaving a sigh of relief.

"Please don't do this in the future young miss. Who knows what will happen to you if you went out alone?" Su Tang worriedly said. Since she was the oldest among the three of them, Su Tang was more matured and was the most trusted person of Lin Xiaofei, just next to her was Bai Lu who was the youngest of them all.

Noticing Lin Xiaofei's wet clothes, Su Tang rushed to get some new clothes for her young miss to wear while Bai Lu also went out to boil water for bathing.

Lin Xiaofei was left sitting on a chair in her room while her maids busied themselves to take care of their young miss. She didn't know whether to laugh or cry over the scene of her maidservants running around like some bees.

Once done bathing and finished changing her clothes, Lin Xiaofei decided to read a book much to the surprise of her maidservants who stood on the corner of the room.

Their eyes bulged largely as they watch their young miss flip the pages and had all of her attention on the book as if what was written in it was so interesting while their young miss didn't see their shock.

In all the years that they have served the Fourth Lin Young Lady, Bai Lu and Su Tang, who was always beside Lin Xiaofei had never seen her even touch a book or even thought of reading it.

So, what was this?!

Bai Lu bit her lower lip and looked at Su Tang with stupefied and astonished look on her face. However, Su Tang had the same reaction as Bai Lu and her mouth was slightly open to express her intense shock.

No one knew but these two maids how much Lin Xiaofei hated books or anything that was similar to it. Back when she was enrolled in the only academy for young ladies in the Jing capital, Lin Xiaofei didn't even last one day before she stomped her foot and left.

The rumors of her ruining the writing tools in the class were soon spread across the capital the next day, but Lin Xiaofei was not embarrassed and didn't try to deny it as she took a stroll in the city as if nothing happened.

But now their young lady was reading a book as if these actions were done regularly and was engraved in her bones.

Lin Xiaofei, who was reading the book was oblivious to their shocks and was deep in thought. In the past, reading books were something she was used to doing in the Fourth Prince's residence since as a concubine, there wasn't that much for her to do other than battling for favors and scheming against the other women beside Yu Fangzhu and reading became her way to pass time.

Her plan to sabotage Yu Fangzhou was with high risk since Lin Xiaofei knew that Yu Fangzhu would take a drastic action to protect the area surrounding the cave and planting the bomb inside would be impossible.

And there was another higher risk of having her plan failing when meeting Qu Xing Xu. Who knows if he was an enemy and was with Yu Fangzhu or anyone in the royal family and once her words passed through his ears, Qu Xing Xu might speak about it to them.

That was something that Lin Xiaofei would never allow to happen or else most of her plans will be considered impossible since adding another formidable enemy in her list would be troublesome.

However, Lin Xiaofei will not give up so easily even if Qu Xing Xu became her enemy.

What's so different from having one or more enemies to her several others?

Lin Xiaofei used her fingers to flip another page when she raised her head and saw the shocks that were on her maidservants' faces as if they had seen something they shouldn't have.

"What is it?" Lin Xiaofei said as she had a frown on her face.

Su Tang shook her head and said, "N-nothing! Young miss, you can continue reading." Pulling Bai Lu by her sleeve, she continued, "I forgot to take the laundries that we hang up to dry outside. Young miss, we will leave you now."

Bai Lu stared at Su Tang with a perplexed expression, she didn't know what her fellow maid was thinking about and the laundries that they washed and hang outside were already taken inside even before the rain started to fall heavily from the sky.

However, even before she could say a word, Su Tang had already pulled her outside and closed the door to their young lady's bedroom.

Lin Xiaofei sighed and put her chin on top of the back of her palm as she came to realize why her maids were so fl.u.s.tered and rushing to get out of the room as to not disturb her.

She forgot that the previous owner was a stupid girl who was infamous for her crass personality and stupidity, it was no surprise that Su Tang and Bai Lu would be so shocked and might get scared that they could run away from her.

In any case, Lin Xiaofei was too lazy to impress anyone nor to explain why did she have a sudden desire to read. She didn't have the time to waste becoming the real Lin Xiaofei. She decided to become herself and there was no need to pretend since it will be useless.

In this lifetime, she will dedicate it to make Yu Fangzhu suffer a thousandfold and take everything he treasured the most from him like how he took everything from her and tortured her for a long time for his own entertainment.

The cave was the first thing she will take from him but Yu Fangzhu should expect to lose a lot more.

Lin Xiaofei only hoped that he would be prepared for what was about to come for him.
