The Birthday Of a Special Stranger

Sophie was chattering with the guests when she suddenly noticed Anna's irrational behavior of holding Edward's hand. She hesitated for a bit and then decided to interfere in order to stop her friend from making more embarrassing things. She dropped the social blending and approached Anna.

Anna stood still in her place. She wanted to leave the spot but her legs and body failed her. She felt completely helpless in the presence of Edward, but her self-confidence suddenly came back when she heard Sophie's voice.

" Oh Anna you're here ! Hello everyone, I hope you enjoy the party ! "

Sophie gently held Anna's hand and dragged her away from the crowd while talking.

" Enjoy the party everyone ! "

Sophie walked upstairs towards a guests' room. Anna on the other hand was having a hard time deciding what to do.

They soon reached the room, closed the door and sit on a sofa.

" Anna ! What were you thinking by grabbing his hand in front of all the guests ! "

Anna nodded in agreement as she took off her heels.

Chris and John also witnessed the awkward situation between Anna and Edward. Chris looked at John's pale face, smirked then talked in a serious tone.

" What was all that about ? Can't you handle your woman properly ? What will people say about this, John ? "

John did not pay much attention to what happened between Anna and Edward since he hated them both. However, Chris's provoking remarks reminded him of his important status is society, which may somehow be shaken because of his fiancée's recklessness.

" Shut up, Chris ! "

John was walking away from his friend when he suddenly bumped into his future mother in law.

" Oh sorry.. "

She looked up and smiled gently.

" Oh John it's you my dear ! How are things going ? I hope you're enjoying the party ! "

John was irritated because of his fiancée and could not smile. Suddenly, an evil idea crossed his mind.  He whispered as he approached his fiancée's mother.

" I'm fine Mrs. Dion. However, I believe you should pay more attention to your daughter's embarrassing behavior. I already run out of both patience and tolerance "

Mrs. Dion's face darkened, and by the time she could reorder her thoughts,  her son in law was already gone.

She murmured alone as she tried calling her daughter.


" John must have seen what happened earlier ! Anna.. this ungrateful child is going to be the cause of my death "
