The Blade Summoner

My new class became more and more enjoyable as time passed. Joel and Robin testing out their spells, soemtimes breaking something in the process. Well, they are the main reason for trouble around here, but they don't mean anything bad with it. They are just unable to control their magic yet and get impatient with their training process periodically.

If they broke a window, one of their own bones or the small shed near here, they get lectured by our teacher again. I actually feel sorry for that shed, in the short time I was here it was already destroyed five times, three times of which it was obliterated. The shock of the first two times was gone now, so I giggle with the others now. With my damned girly giggle.

It was quite refreshing though. Even if I was always forced to spar against the teacher, there was new things pretty often. Sometimes Viola challenges me again, sometimes I try new things against the teacher. In both cases does the challenger lose, may it be Viola against me, or me against the teacher.

The score is around this right now: Twelve for me, zero for Viola, Twenty eight for teacher and three for me. I am learning fast, but it was only enough for me to get a win with tricks. If dirt get thrown up by a blade accidentally, or one of the other fights reflect the light into his eyes - I had a chance to win. Meaning: Not really often.

Now exhausted after every day, I got home to the bears paw. Reasonable, considering my morning run and the six hours of consecutive fighting. Not so reasonable was the amount of people gathering in the front room in recent days. Out of any reason the owner of the bears paw thanks me for my patronage every time I enter, if I ask someone they always tell me something like this: " You get customers in here after all, if this keeps on we will need to let you live here for free"

No idea why, but living here for free would certainly be nice. The high percentage of females here doesn't really bother me either, I just miss the old guys that were here before. They were funny if they were drunk...

And they didn't make Claudia call me a playboy. God knows how she got that idea.

This cycle was repeated. Waking up, running, going to school, then training there and sleeping here. Every day, with the only difference being my chances to win against the teacher. I suppose this is the reason why I train after all.

Several weeks later, after the cycle got almost automatic there was a fast change. Suddenly, I was able to beat the teacher without tricks. Without breaking a sweat. He tries to attack but I was able to dodge it easily. It was as though the blade had become slower. That was not something I expected from the training, so I went to the principal to ask him about it.

In the unlikely case that he answered me for once, that is. Unexpectedly, my knocking on his door was answered this time. Not by the principal, but at least the door was open. Getting my questions answered wasn't done for either, considering that Wert was the one stepping out right now.

W:" Hey Cecily, are you here for the principal?"

Ce:" I am here to ask questions, if it is the principal or you doesn't make much of a difference for me"

W:" Go ahead then, the principal won't be back for some time, he has important matters to attend to."

My mind is already preparing the next questions, as I speak out the first one.

Ce:" So I was training with the sword recent days, should I expect any sudden changes?"

W:" Depends. I wouldn't count on them, but there are some possibilites you could encounter."

Ce:" So the time in battle going slower is acceptable?"

W:"..."

Ce:" Hello?"

W:" I'm sorry, this is something we need to involve more people for. As long as the principal is not here, I am afraid - I cannot answer you question."

With that he hurried away. Although he tride to hide it, his face was pale and his eyes wide open. Like he was utterly shocked, his little smile looked out of place immensely. Was it a good or bad thing now?!
