The Blue Eyes
Chapter 157 - JACK'S CONFESSION
Four youngsters arrived at the secret laboratory. It was not only them but also a small robot in one of the man's arms.
The two of them glanced around the laboratory in awe. It was their first time coming to the laboratory, and they were amazed by the sophisticated laboratory.
"Your mother hid this laboratory for seventeen years?" The tattoed man, Jack, asked Kevin.
Kevin didn't immediately answer as he put down the robot on the floor. He then pulled a chair and sat on it.
"Kris was the only one who knew about this laboratory before they decided to tell me about it," the young scientist answered as he peeked at his lover. "He was hiding so many things from me as well, Jack. He is the greatest liar in the world."
Kris widened his eyes in surprise as he walked over to Kevin's chair and sat on the armrest. "I didn't lie for bad purposes," he defended himself as he looked down at his lover.
The said lover just rolled his eyes. "You always told me that, Kris," he answered lazily. "You call it white lies, but I call it desperate lies."
Kevin sounded sarcastic, and Kris clearly could notice the tone. He was about to retort, but he stopped himself as he heard Jack speaking.
"I told you that Kris was a liar, and you can see yourself that I was telling the truth, right, Blue?" Jack asked the only girl in the laboratory.
The said girl, Blue, was squatting beside the robot as she examined the white robot with her sparkled eyes. "Uncle Kris did that for our sakes," she replied without looking up at the tattoed man. "I also know that Brother Kevin was only being tsundere just now. He didn't really angry with you, so you don't have to worry, Uncle," she spoke to Kris this time as she glanced at the older man.
Kris was stunned. "You really know your brother so well, don't you, Blue?" He asked the young girl. "But you don't have to worry about me. I'm used to Kevin's tsundere attitude. He spoke like that just now, but he will explain it to me while giving me a hot kiss later tonight."
Now, it was Kevin's turn to widen his eyes in surprise. Not only that, but his face also reddened as if he just went out on a sunny day and his skin got burned.
"You dare to say that to a little girl?" The young scientist asked furiously.
The other man didn't feel scared as he replied, "I was just stating a fact, and Blue is no longer a kid, anyway."
Kevin fumed even more and was about to retort if only he was faster than Jack.
"Can you guys stop with the nonsense? Don't you two remember our purpose of coming to this place?" The tattoed man asked in an annoyed tone.
Both Kevin and Kris turned to Jack and blinked innocently. Ah, they almost forgot their purpose.
"Sorry," Kevin said as he rubbed the nape of his neck awkwardly. "I remember our purpose. We come to this place to do the antidote injection, right? Yeah, I remember."
Jack rolled his eyes. Kevin was professional most of the time, but there were times when the black-haired man acted so childish, even more childish than Blue—
"Brother, can you turn on the robot first? I want to play with the robot."
Oh, Jack just thought that Kevin was more childish than Blue, but the said girl suddenly acted like a five-year-old kid. Just look at the girl's expression as she looked up at the scientist. Blue looked like a kid who was asking a candy from her father.
"You want to play with AZURE, Blue? If you don't mind, please don't call AZURE with an 'it.' You can use the word 'him' instead," Kevin replied as he enthusiastically got up from his seat.
His sudden movement made the chair lost its balance, and Kris almost fell if only he didn't have an amazing reflect. He quickly got up as he stabilized the chair. He could only shake his head to see his beloved's behavior.
The young scientist then squatted in front of the robot and pressed the button on the robot's chest.
Not long after, the robot 'wake up' and greeted Kevin with a smile, "Hello, Master. How can I help you today?"
Blue was amazed to see the robot's cuteness. "Does he only recognize you as his master, Brother?" She asked the other man, but her blue eyes never left the small robot.
"He recognizes me and Kris, but he refuses to acknowledge Kris as his master. They fought every day, and it gave me a headache sometimes," Kevin replied as he shook his head.
"Why did you fight with the cute AZURE, Uncle? It must be you who provoked him first, right?" Blue asked her uncle as she narrowed her eyes toward the man.
"Me?" Kris asked back as he pointed to himself. "The robot is very annoying, Blue! It hates me since the beginning!"
"Kris is the annoying one. It's not me," the robot suddenly chimed in as it glared at Kris.
Kris glared back at the robot, and the scene was quite funny in Blue's eyes to make her laugh out loud. Kevin also joined the laughter as he looked at his lover playfully.
Jack, as the sanest person in the laboratory, could only sigh before he spoke, "Can we start our project and stop wasting our time?"
The three turned their head to Jack and threw him a death glare.
"It seems like you can't wait to get rid of your power, Jack. I remember you were the one who opposed the idea at first, but suddenly you become so excited to do the injection. Don't you think that's a bit suspicious, Jack?"
Jack seemed to be surprised by Kris's suspicion. "You accused me of having bad intentions?" He asked in disbelief. "Come on, Kris! We have been on this journey for a long time, and I have been trying to win your trust all the time. Can you just give me a chance to change?"
"It's not like I don't want to give you a chance, Jack. But, you keep provoking me that I feel suspicious toward you!"
Kevin and Blue just stared at the two men silently. The atmosphere grew tenser all of a sudden, and that was not a good sign.
The scientist got up and decided to mediate the tense. "You are acting like this again, Kris," he stared at Kris with his sharp gaze. "Jack is not provoking you, but it's you who is too sensitive when it comes to Jack. It looks like you are always on guard when Jack is around. What's wrong, huh? Is it related to Jack's secret that you keep for yourself and don't want to share it with me?"
"My secret?" Jack chimed in after he heard his name being mentioned. "What secret? I don't remember I've ever told Kris my secret."
Jack looked confused, and Kris glared at him angrily. It seemed like his eyes were talking to Jack's eyes. The dark orbs tried to transfer what was on his mind through the connection.
Jack frowned in confusion, but then he smirked after he got what Kris meant. "Ah! That secret, huh?" He asked in an amused tone. "That's right, Kevin. I indeed told my secret to your boyfriend. Why? You want to know about my secret?"
The three people looked surprised by Jack's question. Blue even got up from her position and silently observed the situation.
Kris looked nervous. He kept sending an S.O.S signal to Jack, nonverbally asking the latter to skip the conversation and don't prolong the matter. But, to his dismay, Jack just smirked to respond to his distress signal.
"If it's your secret, then you don't have to tell me about that, Jack. I'm just annoyed because Kris keeps acting like that when you are around. I'm curious, but I'm not forcing you to tell your secret."
Kevin was wise as usual. Even in a tense situation like this, he could still think clearly and was not dragged by his emotions.
"My secret is not that important, Kevin. I can tell you about that anytime if you want," Jack replied casually as he glanced at Kris. "No one cares about my feeling, anyway. It doesn't matter for me to reveal the secret."
Kris looked more nervous than ever, but on the other hand, Kevin looked more curious than ever.
"What do you mean, Jack? We care about your feeling," Kevin sincerely comforted the tattoed man. "Don't say that your secret is about your hidden feeling toward someone. Are you in love with someone, Jack?"
The scientist's hypothesis stunned both Kris and Blue. But, for some reason, their surprise expressions didn't look the same. It felt like there were different feelings in their hearts.
"You are worth the genius title, Kevin," Jack playfully praised the raven-haired man. "You are right.. I'm in love with someone, and that someone is in this laboratory."
The two of them glanced around the laboratory in awe. It was their first time coming to the laboratory, and they were amazed by the sophisticated laboratory.
