The Blue Eyes

Chapter 249 - KRIS IS MISSING

Kevin was beyond panicked when he drove his silver car to the orphanage.

Last night he was sure that his fiance would go back to their house, and he stayed up all night to wait for the man to return.

However, reality betrayed his confidence, and Kris didn't come back at all.

Kris didn't come back last night, and he immediately headed to the orphanage to let Blue and Jack know about that.

He knew that Kris was angry, but he felt that it was strange when Kris didn't even come back to him. Kris had never left him alone like this, and he had a feeling that something was not right here.

The current situation was threatening, and the real Kris wouldn't leave him alone and would protect him until the end. Kevin was sure that there was something behind this incident.

Kris didn't leave him, but that went missing. Kevin was certain about that.

The silver car stopped in front of the orphanage building, and the owner of the car immediately ran toward the building. Opening the front door of the building, he immediately rushed to the living room.

"Blue! Jack!" He looked like someone who was losing his mind as he screamed in the living room.

Hearing his scream, Jack immediately ran toward him. "Why are you screaming like a madman, Kevin? It's still early in the morning, for God's sake!"

The tattooed man scolded him, but Kevin could care less. "Where's Blue? I need to tell you guys about an urgent matter."

The blonde frowned upon hearing Kevin's statement. "It's morning, and Blue is in the school. She's having her final exam now."

Blue was having her final exam, so he shouldn't disturb the girl's study. If Blue knew that her uncle was missing, then the girl wouldn't be able to focus on her exam.

Blue was a smart girl, and if she failed her exam because of this incident, it wouldn't be good for the girl's future.

"Then, we shouldn't tell Blue about it, Jack."

The blonde couldn't understand Kevin at all, and he just kept furrowing his brows as he gave the young scientist a strange look.

"Can you tell me what happened and stop talking nonsense? Why do you look so panicked like this? What happened, huh?"

Kevin realized that he had confused Jack, so he took a deep breath to calm himself down. "Kris didn't come back home last night, Jack. We should find him soon!"

Jack was stunned for a moment, but then he went back to his flat expression once again. "Kris was angry with you yesterday, so it's normal if he didn't come back, right? You said yourself yesterday that he needed some time alone, so why do you look so worried now?"

Kevin indeed said that yesterday, but that was not what he meant.

"He indeed needed some time alone, but it doesn't mean that he wouldn't come home at night, Jack. I know Kris, and I believe that he would still come back to me even if he's angry at me!"

Kevin's confidence stunned Jack. The blonde knew that Kevin and Kris loved each other so deeply, but this level of understanding still amazed him.

"Have you tried to call Kris?" The tattooed man then asked again.

"I have tried to call him, but his phone died, Jack. It's not normal for him to turn off his phone," Kevin answered.

He indeed tried to call Kris many times since last night, but the phone died. This morning he tried to call the number again, but it was still the same.

Kris wouldn't act so childish to the point he would turn off his phone for so long, and that was why the black-haired scientist was worried.

Jack sighed as he massaged his temple with his right hand. It was still morning, and he just finished taking a shower, but then he immediately heard the bad news that gave him a headache.

Thankfully, the kids were in their schools now, so he didn't need to bother about them too.

"Maybe his phone ran out of battery or something. You shouldn't think negatively like that. Kris is not that weak, and nothing bad will happen to him."

Jack comforted him, and Kevin sighed heavily. Kris was indeed not that weak, but he didn't have any weapons with him. Kevin was afraid that Kris was attacked by the bad people again.

He was about to say something to Jack again, but then he could feel his phone vibrate in his pants pocket. Signaling Jack to wait, he then fished out the phone from the pocket. He could read Luke's name on the screen, and he immediately answered the call.

"What's up, Luke? Did you find something about Steve?"

Kevin sounded so eager, and Luke could hear the panicked tone in the man's voice.

"What's wrong, Kevin? Did something bad happen?" Instead of answering his question, Luke questioned him back.

"Kris didn't come back home last night, Luke. I need to find him soon, so have you found new information about Steve?" Kevin didn't want to waste any more time as he directly asked his colleague.

"What? Kris didn't come back home last night?" Luke asked again in surprise. "But last night you were so sure that he would come back to you, right? Why did he end up not coming back?"

Kevin sighed heavily. If he knew the reason, then he wouldn't be this worried.

"Can you just answer my question earlier, Luke? Have you found something about Steve?"

Kevin once again asked the same question because his previous question didn't get an answer. He had a feeling that Steve had something to do with Kris. He didn't know why did he have that kind of thought, but it was just his heart that told him about that.

Kevin kept urging him, and Luke sighed before replying, "That Steve guy is indeed the killer.. He's a real criminal all this time, Kevin."
