The Blue Eyes

Kevin's heart dropped, and he couldn't even feel the bones inside his body because he felt so limp right now.

Grace, as the one who killed the hope in the scientist's heart, noticed the man's expression and was about to say something, but the door of the room suddenly opened from the outside.

Kevin didn't even turn his head to the door, and he kept his head low. He could hear footsteps approaching him, but he didn't care.

"How come no one informed me that Kevin has woken up?"

Kevin's heart seemed to be losing its beat before, but when he heard the question, the heart pounded loudly once again. Looking up to the side, he could find Kris standing next to the bed.

"Kris!" He didn't even care about the pain on his shoulder as he immediately hugged Kris tightly.

Kris was puzzled, but he still returned the hug nonetheless. "What's going on here? I just went back from the government office to help with the investigation, but my fiance already missed me, huh?"

Kevin suddenly let go of his fiance's body as he frowned, "What do you mean? Mrs. Hasler told me that something happened to you."

Kris raised an eyebrow, and he glanced at Grace Hasler. Kevin followed the gaze, and his eyes captured Jack's figure in the process.

"Something indeed happened," Grace replied. "The government wanted to get more information from Kris and Jack because you're still unconscious, so I didn't lie to you, right?"

Kevin was speechless, but then he decided to question his fiance, "Are you okay, Kris? You are not hurt somewhere, are you?"

Kris's heart was deeply touched by his fiance's caring attitude, and he rewarded his fiance with a handsome smile before grabbing his fiance's hand and kissing the smooth palm.

"I'm unharmed, Kev," he replied in a whisper.

Kevin heaved a sigh of relief. He thought something bad happened to Kris, but when he saw his fiance completely unscathed, he was delighted. 

"I'm sorry because I didn't believe in you, Kev. I shouldn't have trusted Steve blindly. I feel so stupid for trusting someone like him."

Kris looked guilty, and Kevin sighed before grabbing Kris's hand and landing a kiss on the back of the hand. "You are not wrong, Kris. You are right for not believing me because I did lie a lot to you."

Kris just realized that Kevin indeed had deceived him all along. "You have to explain everything to me, Kevin!"

"Kevin just woke up after he slept for 24 hours, but you immediately interrogated him, Kris?" Jack commented lazily.

"I'm okay now, so I will explain everything to you all," Kevin decided even if the people didn't urge him at all.

The young scientist was so stubborn, and the people finally let him explain what he wanted to explain.

Kevin started the explanation from the moment when he noticed how his body felt so strange after the antidote extraction. He was supposed to lose his ice powers, but sometimes, his body suddenly felt cold. Not only that, but his hand also managed to heal the wound caused by Julia so fast, and he started to feel suspicious.

He secretly did a throughout check-up on his body with the help of AZURE, and he found that he still had the powers inside his body. In the end, AZURE showed him another hologram message from his mother that said that he still had another task to do, so he still needed the powers inside his body.

It turned out Selena had instructed AZURE not to extract all the formula from his body, and that was why he still had blue eyes. Not only that, but AZURE also gave him a secret formula so that he could upgrade his powers.

"My mother didn't tell me the details about the task, but I know that we can't just let go of our powers. That's why I found a solution to fake the normalization of the DNA and even added a secret formula to upgrade our powers," Kevin ended his explanation.

"But, why did you lie to us about your plan, Kevin?"

Kevin displayed a guilty expression on his face upon hearing Kris's cold question.

"I'm sorry," Kevin could only utter the two words to respond to his fiance's statement. He often got angry because Kris lied a lot to him in the past, but he ended up lying to the people in the end.

"I believe that Brother Kevin has a reason behind his lies," Blue suddenly dared to chime in.

His lovely sister defended him, and Kevin smiled warmly at the blue-eyed girl. "I do have a reason, Blue," he agreed with the girl. "I was not sure about what was going to happen in the future, and I thought it would be best if I was the one who knew about it. I knew you would find out eventually, so I let the time to tell you the truth."

Kevin tried to give an honest and wise answer, but Jack scoffed at his answer. "Do you know how I felt when those monsters were about to give me the final blow? I thought yesterday would be my last day, but suddenly my body got bigger, and my powers got stronger as well. That moment almost gave me a heart attack, Kevin!"

Jack looked a little annoyed when he scolded the young scientist. He still remembered how his life was on the line when he was cornered by the werewolf monsters, but then he suddenly transformed into a stronger monster.

The transformation had saved him, but Jack was still irritated by Kevin's dishonesty.

Both Kris and Blue displayed the same expression as Jack because they experienced the same thing. Kris also thought that yesterday would be the last day for him before suddenly his body transformed into his strongest form.

"You talked about yesterday's event, so... how are Mr. Dawson and the others? I heard he talked about a bomb before I fell unconscious, so I wonder whether he's still alive or not," Kevin stated again nervously.

That was right. Before he completely fell unconscious, he vaguely heard how Derek Dawson talked about a bomb, and that was why he dreamed about an explosion earlier.

He could hear Kris sigh beside him. "I did what you wanted. You said that I shouldn't let them die, so I did."

[Was it another suicide with a bomb? Kris still remembered how Selena committed suicide with a suicidal bomb, and it turned out Derek Dawson was planning the same thing.

"Do you think I will let you die easily?" Kris asked the former General darkly before turning to Jack, who was still holding Kevin on the floor. "Your body is bigger than mine, and I'm sure you can bring those bastards to leave this building, Jack."

Kris didn't give him detailed instruction, but Jack could get what the other man meant. He immediately handed Kevin to Kris before rushing towards the three men and transforming into a giant black wolf. He carelessly bit the three men and threw them on his back before running to leave the building.

Kris, with Kevin in his arms, followed suit at a high speed. When they were ten meters away from the building, the iron building exploded.

They couldn't save the werewolf monsters and Primea's human army from the explosion, but at least they could save themselves along with the three villains.]

Confirming that the three criminals were still alive, Kevin then shifted his gaze to Grace. "Have you met your father, Mrs. Hasler?" He asked the short-haired lady.

To his surprise, the lady suddenly looked up at him with her piercing gaze. "He's not my father, and I will never want to meet him," she answered darkly.

Kevin could understand Grace's feeling, so he decided not to question the lady any further. Instead, he drifted his gaze toward his parents again. He didn't say anything, but his parents seemed to understand what he meant.

Benjamin sighed before turning to Grace. "We are very sorry for hating and blaming you, Grace. We thought Derek was a good man, and we kept siding with him instead of supporting you." The old man looked so embarrassed as he apologized to the fierce lady sincerely.

Grace knew that Kevin's adoptive parents didn't like her, and perhaps it was because of Derek Dawson's persuasion. She was sad, but she knew that she shouldn't harbor any hatred toward the innocent couple.

"We'd better forget about the past, Mr. Lowell. At least, everything is normal once again, and let's not have hard feelings in our hearts," the head of the Intelligence Agency replied in her professional tone.

"Speaking of hard feelings," Jack's voice could be heard again. "We now have the powers inside our bodies again, so will it give a hard feeling in your heart, Mrs. Hasler?"

Jack suddenly brought up the sensitive topic about their powers because Grace was the one who was so persistent in asking them to let go of their powers before.

"It looks like I've been the antagonist in your eyes all this time, right?" Grace returned to questioning the tattooed man. "I forced you guys to get rid of the powers because it was Professor Selena's request, but it turns out she also left another message for Kevin to keep the powers inside his body. It's all the professor's scenario, you know?"

It was indeed Selena and all her lies. She had deceived a lot of people in her life.

"But at least everything is settled once again," Julia suddenly butted in. "You want justice for the death of the tavern lady's husband and son, right, Kevin? I've reported the matter to the government, and they will give the lady compensation and a formal apology."

Kevin's blue eyes glimmered at Julia's statement. He was glad that the tavern lady finally got the justice she deserved.

"Who said that everything is settled once again?" Kris spoke up again after being quiet for a while. "There's still a big problem that needs a solution."

The tanned man's statement confused the people as they gave a questioning look at the man.

Kris knew that the people were curious, so he continued with a serious note, "When do you think I should marry Kevin?"
