The Blue Eyes
Chapter 51 - NOSTALGIC
Her blue eyes looked timidly at the mysterious old man who was still holding her chin tightly. It had been two days since Blue had been on the island, but this was the first timge she met the old man.
Earlier, she had been secretly following Jack because Jack's departure left suspicion in her heart. Jack said an important person had come to the island, and she wanted to know who the important person the tattooed man was referring to. She thought maybe she could get a hint from that important person.
That was why the young girl secretly caught up with Jack until finally, she saw who the guests were. She then tried to overhear what they were talking about. She had tried to hide well, but in the end, the werewolf superpowers found her.
And, here she was now, sitting on the dirty floor like she was being judged by the four men.
The beautiful girl felt very intimidated by the mysterious old man. Even though the man continued to smile, but his hand was still tightly gripping Blue's chin. Even though the man continued to beam, but his aura was so intimidating.
Blue wondered in her heart, 'Who is this man? I think I have seen his face before, but where? Or is it just an illusion?'
"You have got enough courage, kid," the old man finally spoke as he released his grip on Blue's chin. He got up and looked down at Blue. "Why did you eavesdrop on our conversation? Is there anything you want to know? You can ask me now."
The man looked friendly. His voice was also gentle, in contrast to Mike who did look frightening and rude. But somehow, Blue was more afraid of the mysterious man in front of her than Mike.
"Who are you?" The question finally emerged from the thick lips of the young girl.
The four pairs of eyes in that place continued to stare at Blue closely, and then they laughed at her question.
"You were eavesdropping just to ask that?" This time, it was Mike who asked.
Blue did not answer the werewolf leader's question. She only glanced at the man, then looked back at the stranger in front of her. It felt like if she didn't keep a close eye on the stranger's movements, her life might be in danger.
"It's okay, Mike," the old man responded to Mike's words. "I want to know why our little girl wants to know who I am," he continued as he stared at Blue.
Blue stared back, albeit timidly. "Jack said that you are an important person, and I want to know how important you are," said the blue-eyed girl.
The old man raised his grey eyebrow, then laughed loudly. "Just because of that you want to know who I am? Why are you so innocent?" He asked between his laughter.
"Blue, you better apologize for bothering us," Jack finally spoke up again after being a listener for long.
Blue turned to the young werewolf and sneered at him, "Why should I apologize? Is this person really important?" Her blue eyes then glanced at the old man again.
Blue's words and gestures brought laughter to the old man's face. "It's okay, Jack," he said to Jack without looking at the young werewolf. "This kid is really interesting." He then focused on Blue again. "I will give you what you want, but on one condition."
Blue's gaze was still fixed on the mysterious man as she asked, "I just want to know who you are, do I have to fulfill your requirements just to find out?"
Blue, that girl was unpredictable. Even though the true fear still flooded her heart, but she could hide it all behind her cold facade. Since childhood, she was used to learning to maintain cold expressions even in difficult situations.
Since childhood, she had often been the victim of bullying, so she was immune when people bully her. Yes, although sometimes her cold mask collapsed when she was very scared and cornered, like what happened in a narrow alley a few months ago.
At that moment, Blue thought that the thugs would do something bad to her, so she was terrified. But, tonight was different. She knew that she was wanted by the werewolves' horde as their savior, so they wouldn't hurt her. The logic was the reason why Blue still acted cool right now.
"Kid, you amused me tonight. Who taught you to behave like that, huh?" The grey-haired man asked again, but Blue had no intention of giving him an answer.
"She grew up in an orphanage, so it must be her foster mother over there who taught her," Mike voluntarily explained because Blue remained silent.
"Is that so? This kid's character reminds me of someone, so I want to know what kind of foster mother she has in the orphanage," the mysterious old man spoke up again.
"Don't hurt my mother!" Blue finally responded. Her temper rose when she heard the two old men talking about the head of the orphanage, whom she loved so dearly.
"But, it looks like the two of them are not very similar. Isn't that right, Mike?" Ignoring Blue's warning, the old man spoke again. "This kid is very cold, and her expression is very flat. Of course, she is different from that person who is gentle and warm. The only thing they have in common is their courage and determination. Do you remember the last day we saw her, Mike?"
Again, the old man acted as if he was feeling nostalgic. Look at the smile that spread wide as if he was remembering a happy past.
Blue couldn't tell what the old man was reminiscing. The expressions on his face were mixed. She could see anger, hatred, disappointment, pain, and also longing.
'Why are there so many expressions on one wrinkled face?' She wondered.
"You have been reminiscing the past. You are so old, aren't you?" Mike chimed in.
"And, you don't feel that you are old too?" The old man replied.
The two men then laughed together like old friends. The two younger men could only smile slightly and didn't want to interrupt the warm atmosphere between the two old men. They now felt like mosquitoes who could only watch and listen to their conversation.
"You are right. We are both old now. Seeing these young people makes me feel jealous," Mike spoke again after he stopped laughing.
"You don't have to be jealous, Mike," the mysterious old man responded. "With Blue with us, she can give you eternal life, so you no longer have to worry about dying after you get old."
The old man's response stunned Blue.
'They want me to give them immortality? Do I really have the ability to do that?' Blue wondered. 'What kind of power sleeps inside my body? I thought it was just a power to kill.'
Blue still remembered how he killed five thugs at once, so he thought her only power was to kill people.
'But, wait a moment. Why did this mysterious old man say 'you' and not 'us' to the leader? Shouldn't they all be able to obtain immortality with the power?' A hole in the old man's words seemed to be giving Blue an important clue.
"Who are you?" The blue-eyed girl asked again, making the mysterious old man turn to her. "Are you a human?" She continued afterward.
The four men were a little stunned at Blue's question. It seemed that the question was unexpected for them.
"Why do you ask like that?" Instead of answering, the old man asked back. "Aren't werewolves indistinguishable from humans? So, why did you ask me like that?"
Blue didn't know why either. She only guessed from the words that had been said by the old man. It was true that she couldn't tell the difference between a werewolf and an ordinary human when the werewolves were in disguise.
"If you are also a werewolf, I want you to transform into a wolf right now," the young girl bravely challenged the mysterious man.
Again, Blue's words stunned the man for a moment.
"Kid, it turns out that you are braver and more assertive than that person," said the old man.
'Who the hell is 'that person'?' Blue grumbled in her heart.
The old man had been talking about 'that person' nonstop, but Blue had no idea who he meant. Honestly, Blue was already tired of talking with these creatures.
"Jack, you'd better get Blue back to her hut now. It looks like she is tired and needs a break," Mike finally got back to talking after he realized that their conversation seemed endless. Blue kept insisting, while the mysterious old man kept playing with the girl.
Jack nodded obediently. He then grabbed Blue's arm, lifting her to her feet because the beautiful girl was still sitting on the floor.
Blue was just about to take a step to follow Jack, but suddenly her arm was pulled from behind. She turned around and found that the mysterious old man was the one who did that.
The old man brought his face close to Blue's ear and whispered, "You want to know who I am? I am your creator, I am the creator of all werewolves on Earth."
Earlier, she had been secretly following Jack because Jack's departure left suspicion in her heart.
