The Buggiest System

"Hmm, who's that in the kitchen?"

Zhou Xiang sat beside her husband, completely forgetting about her earlier resentment for ignoring her.

As she saw the back of the man in the kitchen, she knew instinctively that his looks couldn't be that bad.

Hearing the conversation between her husband and son while she was in her bedroom, she thought that the one in the kitchen was her son.

Now, looking at the man in the kitchen, her mind dismissed it as impossible.

"Oh, and where's Lei?"

"Uhhh..." Zhou Zhenya was speechless at her mother's question. She knew the answer to both of those questions but she couldn't explain.

"The answer lies in a single matter." Zhou Jiahao answered his wife. He pointed towards his son. "It's that man's cooking. When you taste it, you will know the answer."

After speaking, Zhou Jiahao nodded his head in satisfaction. In his mind, he thought that what he said sounded profound and deep, but in actual fact, it sounded really pretentious.

Zhou Xiang put on an expression that had 'are you kidding me?' written all over it. Nonetheless, she wouldn't show this expression to her husband, and so replaced it with a confused expression after a split second.

Although the expression on her face was supposed to be a front, she really was confused as to what her husband just said. 'The answer lies in that man? What the heck do you mean, just tell me directly!'

Zhou Lei finally finished cooking the third egg for his mother. He was fed-up, no matter how one looked at him.

He put the egg on a plate with rice, and put it down on the table for his mother to eat. After that, he sighed and went back to the kitchen to finally cook his own egg.

Zhou Xiang was shocked. She looked at the man in front of her and blushed. 'Too... too handsome, what the heck!'

Her gaze was glued to the man, that she forgot what she was supposed to do. Only when the fragrance of the egg reached her nose did she snap out of it.

'Oh, right.' She glanced suspiciously at the handsome man while she opened her mouth to put the food inside.

The egg touched her tongue.

Boom!

The flavor inside of her mouth exploded!

'Wait... this is a familiar taste!'

Zhou Xiang's tongue recognized the taste. It was similar to her son's cooking earlier.

'Hmm? The answer to both questions...! That's it!' Zhou Xiang finally figured it out. 'So Lei was actually infected by Ya Ya's sickness, huh? I want to be infected as well...'

She sighed as she thought about how her daughter's sickness transferred to her son. 'Maybe it was airborne? Or maybe it was...! Was that what they were doing in the bathroom earlier?! I knew it!'

Her face morphed into shock. She seriously misunderstood what happened. 'So I need to do THAT with Lei? Because doing it with Ya Ya is obviously not feasible.'

Meanwhile, Zhou Lei finished cookingthe egg he had prepared for himself. He didn't feel the need to put it on a plate, as he just needed to try the taste.

He opened his mouth and put the egg inside. He then chewed the egg.

"..."

Nothing.

It tasted like normal.

'What?' Zhou Lei was confused. His whole family enjoyed his egg, but why wasn't he satisfied?

He had seen personally their exaggerated expressions, why wasn't he doing those too?

'Why... does it taste so normal?'

As he thought in his mind, System answered him. "As host has now become a master chef, his taste has become more refined as well. Only the most exquisite meals can satisfy host."

'Wha-huh?' Zhou Lei remembered that there was a stat under the senses category called Taste. He also remembered that it was fairly low, about 25. This was the reason why he was so easily satisfied with the meals that his sister cooked.

Now, he opened System's interface and searched for the Taste stat again.

There it was.

'F**k me? This is actually bad!'
