Chapter 31: Delicious Food With Wonderful People

At the Restaurant de Nihon [*Japan]

“This round dish is super good! It’s juicy inside and crispy from outside, a perfect balance!”

“I love this noodle dish! The sweet and slightly salty sauce soaks into the noodles and the moment you put them in your mouth, the mellow aroma spreads quickly and they are so delicious that you can’t stop asking for more.”

“I’ll take this thick pie-like dish! It’s loaded with vegetables, seafood, and meat, and with just one bite of it, I feel like I can easily defeat even the strongest of monsters!”

There was a spacious restaurant in the prime location of the royal city, where a huge number of people were sitting at tables enjoying the so-called Japanese B-class gourmet food.

Commoners, adventurers, nobles, royalty, and those from other countries, regardless of status, all dined at the Restaurant de Nihon.

Although it was a three-story restaurant, the first and second floors were already full. There was a long line of customers outside, looking on in envy as the inside customers paid their bill and left the restaurant with satisfied expressions on their faces.

A man in a Self-Defense Forces uniform and three beautiful women in gorgeous dresses entered such a popular restaurant.

“Welcome! Please come inside… to the 3rd floor.”

A female employee in a uniform was guiding the customers in a cheerful voice, but as soon as she saw the four, she opened her eyes wide and bowed her head politely.

The first and second floors were for general seating, while the third floor was reserved for distinguished guests.

The four of them looked around the interior of the third floor, which had a nice atmosphere, with a sense of satisfaction.

Of which, the man opened his mouth with a loose cheek.

“Agnes-sama, I’m truly grateful to have you here, for you to open such a splendid shop in such a prestigious place in the royal capital.”

Agnes, in her dress, shook the glass containing the lemon-infused water she had been given and drank some of it. The moment she took her mouth away from it, her saliva formed in strings. She looked at Haruto seductively, as if deliberately showing it off, but Haruto looked away embarrassed. Then, Agnes began to talk casually.

“Everyone loves Haruto’s country food. Japanese cuisine and Haruto-kun are similar in the way they are gentle to everyone, regardless of status, but with a ferocious flavor.”

Seeing Haruto’s troubled reaction, she gave him a smug, curious look instead of a mischievous, glazed-over gaze.

“Fufu, you made the right decision to open a shop here. The Medici family will surely use this place as a source of income. Haruto-kun’s dream will come true and he’ll also get some money, exactly two birds with one stone.”

“I think it’s because of how well Agnes-sama does her job. I never thought that she would be able to plan and manage this restaurant all by herself.”

“I can work without worries because Haruto-kun is there to protect me, right?”

Seeing them having such a conversation, Carol, the lady with the red eyes, spoke to them.

“I have a feeling there’s a lot more delicious food in Japan than this!”

Carol, Haruto’s sister-in-law, looked at Haruto with a shine in her eyes. 

“Well, there’s other things like sushi and tempura, maybe I’ll try making them sometime. I can’t guarantee the taste though.”

“I’m excited because every dish my brother makes is delicious!”

“Hahaha.”

Carol licked her lips as her breath bounced. Haruto sighed and averted his gaze, but the girl whose eyes were so deep blue that reminded him of the deep sea wouldn’t let go of him when he turned away.

“Haruto.”

“Hmm?”

“I’m so happy…”

“Me too. Alice.”

After the disappearance of the Alan family, the security of the Kingdom of Laodecia was improved dramatically. There was no longer a group of people who would attack the mansion, and most importantly,

Haruto was protecting the three beautiful ladies of the Medici family.

Alice was so happy that she couldn’t help it.

She prayed for this happiness to last for a long time.

The four of them prayed simultaneously in their hearts.

“I brought the food you ordered.”

An employee then put down the container, which contained takoyaki, okonomiyaki and yakisoba, in a sophisticated motion.

“Since it’s wrong for us to rely on Haruto-kun’s summoning magic all the time, we made the dishes from the ingredients from all over the kingdom of Laodecia. Try it and let me know what you think?”

“Okay.”

Haruto replied shortly and quickly took a bite of the takoyaki, yakisoba and okonomiyaki in front of him.

The three beautiful ladies leaned forward  clenching their fists, staring at Haruto, in front of them.

Their posture emphasized certain parts of their body, so it was hard to look away…

(Alice and Carol, aren’t yours even bigger than before!)

(No! Don’t even think about that right now! I now belong to the Medici family as well! We’ll do that when we get back home…)

Shaking his head as best as he could, Haruto examined the taste that passed through his tongue and……with a smile on his face, he said,

“It’s so good! A wonderful combination of the Kingdom of Laodecia and Japanese flavors!”

Haruto and the others left the restaurant after finishing their meal.

As usual, there was a long queue at the restaurant, and the heat was hardly cooled down.

Haruto gazed at the scene happily. There were couples, adventurers, children, elderly people, etc.

However, there were two other people who smiled when they saw this scene besides Haruto and the others.

Standing on the road that led to the alleyway, he looked at them with regret as if he was thinking back to the bygone days, but he smiled to cover it up. But because of his yakuza-like appearance, he was clearly a suspicious person when seen from a distance.

The moment Haruto saw them, he signaled to Agnes and the others with his eyes. Then, Haruto and the others quickened their pace.

They looked a little surprised at the sudden arrival of Haruto and the others.

They both rolled their eyes at the look on Haruto’s face. But immediately turned away and started walking.

They both walked away, waving their hands.

Alice, who had been staring blankly at the path they had taken, opened her mouth.
