Chapter 37: As a Mother and a Woman

While Hayato and the girls are studying at school, the mother of the girls, Sakuna, is also busy with work.

Humming a tune, she carried the ingredients and put it in the shopping basket.

“It’s fine, it’s no trouble at all.”

At night, I was massaging Sakuna-san’s shoulders.

We were washing dishes together and she made a gesture of protecting her shoulder. So I asked her to let me massage her shoulder.

“You’re very good at it. I feel so much better now.”

“Really? I did it to my mom a long time ago.”

Yeah, I used to do that to my mom every chance I got back then.

When I was still a child and didn’t know how to repay a favor, a shoulder massage was an easy way to pay it off. 

I then went behind her back and started massaging her shoulders, and even though that was all I did, she seemed to be very happy with it.

“Yes, she did. She sure was happy.”

When she patted my head thanking me… her gentleness, her smile… it all was dear to me.

A hand was gently placed on my head as I was reminiscing about the past. It was Sakuna-san’s, of course, she then opened her mouth as she stroked my head.

“Thank you, Hayato-kun. Your mother and I both are so happy.”

Don’t call my mother, not because I don’t want to, but because I’m vulnerable to that word. 

The feeling of wanting to be pampered starts to surface again, and when that happens, I usually fall into her bosoms.

But today I’m different from usual. I moved away from Sakuna-san’s chest and this time I hugged her body.

Sakuna-san is more mature than I am. It probably looks odd for me to lead her like this. This is new for me too.
