The CEO Who Hates Me

134 Either In Good Or In Bad Times

All were quiet as the family was eating breakfast.

Elder Master Ken was impressed with Arya's cooking skill. It was much better compared to Rita's cooking. The seasoning was enough to his taste.

He wanted to compliment Arya but chose not to do so in consideration to Rita not to feel bad since he did not comment on the latter's cooking at all.

But he's glad to know that Rita was working hard to learn new things like cooking.

His brat grandchild Dean was often on her side to the rescue. Their cook told him that Dean always helped Rita in the kitchen every morning.

He understood that it was not Rita's forte because her skills were not for a housewife material. She was trained and groomed differently. She was a career woman.

He saw it as a great advantage but of course she must learn the proper etiquette of being a housewife too. Although he gave great value for talents who could help with the family business, but the first priority was still the family. She must learn how to become a good wife and also a good mother in the future.

Elder Master Ken's happiness was having a well maintained close family ties, where everyone stayed together and united as one, either in good or in bad times.

He suddenly thought of his eldest son Alex and he couldn't help but feel sad… Although Alex was not his real flesh and blood, in his heart he was his own.

He quickly brushed off the sad thoughts as he did not want others to notice his sudden sadness and ruin the mood. He knew that Alex was giving Ryu a headache right now by being bold and acting on his own.

Alex simply couldn't accept that he appointed Ryu to be in charge of all their business as the CEO of RK Group of Companies instead of him.

He looked at Ryu, the man was really someone born to lead their family lineage... not because in his blood runs the Kens but because he was the one qualified and deserving.

Then he shook his head when he noticed Ryu was staring at his wife most of the time with full of admiration… He was contented having a family meal together like this. He sighed and continued with eating.

On the other hand, Arya was excited to hear everyone's reaction about the foods she prepared. She woke up early to make sure she'll do well in time and based on the way they were eating heartily she felt that she was successful.

Almost the food she prepared were empty.

"This is good. Did you study in cooking?" Ryu's mom complimented her and Arya felt happy.

"No mother but my mom loves cooking and she had taught me well while I assist her at most of the time." Arya answered politely.

Cecile smiled at her as she asked to pass her another bowl of beef broccoli dish.

Karl cleared his throat before he speak, "Ryu and Dean, after this meet me in the library first to discuss an important matter together with Butler Omni."

Though surprised, Ryu nodded.

Meanwhile, Dean did not respond. Instead, he was staring at the foods on his plate and did not eat anything yet while he moved it with his spoon.

Elder Master Ken looked at him and said, "You're spacing out Dean. Are you alright?"

"Huh? You're saying something grandpa?" Dean asked.

"No I'm not but your Uncle Karl did. What's with you? You're not yourself right now and why didn't you eat yet. I noticed you've been staring at your food for some time now instead of eating it." Elder Master Ken said with a creased forehead.

Then he shifted his gaze to Rita and said, "What's with your husband? Check his temperature to see if he's sick."

Rita obeyed Elder Master Ken and touched Dean's forehead and she avoided to have an eye contact with him since she noticed his eyes were focused on hers.

"It's normal Sir." Rita murmured with a hesitant voice.

"Tsk… How many times do I have to tell you not to address me like that? You're now part of the family regardless of anything else so practice calling me grandpa. I'm not a Sir but your grandpa now since Dean is your husband. Call me the same way your husband is calling me."

Rita smiled shyly at Elder Master Ken and replied, "Noted grandpa…"

"Wifey you're not in the office," Dean interrupted while chuckling when he heard Rita answered like she was answering a Boss. 'Noted and Sir' were words he often heard when he was in the office.

He looked at his grandpa and explained, "I'm not sick grandpa, I'm just preoccupied with certain happenings last night so I didn't catch what uncle said."

Karl thought Dean was referring on the event last night so he repeated, "I said, see me at the library with Ryu after eating to discuss an important matter."

Dean nodded and began to eat the foods on his plate. He was so busy thinking what to say to Rita later or what to do so he could get her attention more often.

Meanwhile, Rita slightly bowed her head to hide her blushing face since she clearly understood what Dean meant on 'certain happenings last night'.

'Why would he even think about it during breakfast? The heck, it's so embarrassing...' she hissed silently.

She was very confused with all that happened last night. All was new to her and she was not used with the feelings that were building inside of her right now.

There were so many things that were troubling her and the most of it was the insecurities inside of her...

Yes, she was insecure... She felt like she did not deserve anything and everything good that she was experiencing right now as she stayed as a member of a KEN.

Everything seemed unreal and there's this glitch inside of her... A glitch that was waiting to destroy her good dream any time soon...

So she wanted to build a wall... a wall to protect herself from being hurt and to protect also others to get hurt because of her.
