The Commoner Consort: The Country's Respected Empress

Maya gets stunned, seeing Xavier leaving 'Is he not going to talk to me?!'.

She runs after him urgently after whispering to Sarah "Wait for me!".

Sarah who was almost in tears due to Xavier's right appearance there, blinks dumbfounded. She didn't expect Maya to run after Xavier immediately.

Xavier walks towards Charles without turning back. Even though he sensed Maya's presence behind him, he didn't turn even once to face her.

Maya gasps while running and walking to reach upto him "Sir!".

Xavier pulls the reigns of the Charles and walks away from her sternly.

Maya couldn't help wonder "Have you become deaf too?! I am calling you! Stop!".

Seeing him still walking, she blurts hurriedly "Don't you want to apologize for something, Sir?!".

Xavier stops hearing her and curses under his breath "The nerve of this girl!".

He turns and stares her in anger "What did you just say?".

Maya lets out a relaxed breath and smiles "It's good you stopped! I couldn't have followed you-".

Seeing him looking back at her madly, she smiles helplessly "I apologize-".

Xavier hisses "For lying to me?!".

Maya is taken aback by his sudden anger but still states "I just didn't say the truth".

Xavier states sternly "That's lying M-My Lady!".

He stammers while completing his sentence. Even though he could still use the common etiquette words to call her, he could not use it like before.

Something made him to think that was wrong.

Maya defends for herself "No Sir! It's not! There is a difference between deliberately lying and just hiding the truth!".

Xavier turns away "I don't want to talk to you anymore!".

Maya frowns sensing something wrong and asks "Then you too were lying, weren't you? You too didn't tell me anything about you?! At least I am apologizing! Look at you!-".

Xavier glares at her which made her to stop speaking. Without speaking anything, he hops on the horse and leaves the place.

Maya stood there in a daze. She felt her heart burdening just by seeing him going away.

'Is he still angry?! But this is not fair! Both were wrong in this situation! How can only he be angry?! He should not be angry when both kept each other's identity in dark!'.

She frowns feeling something on her cheek. She realizes her eyes were damped by her own tears.

She clutches her fist "This siblings are literally swore to make me cry! First his brother and now it's him!".

She doesn't want to cry for this unjust reason but she couldn't help it. She walks back slowly, wiping her tears.

'So he is Xavier. How similar they are! Before hearing or knowing anything of the others side, they end up judging others however they want!'.

After Maya left the Pavilion, Sarah explained everything happened to Celina and Robin.

Sarah is blooming with happiness and looks around the people in disdain. She smiles "Prince Xavier indeed a wise man!".

"How?! He didn't even punish them for their deeds! How could he be a wise man,  Sarah?!".

Sarah smiles broadly hearing Celina's complaint. She tugs her hand "He left the decision to Our Queen you fool! Just think about this. If he personally punishes them in Queen's Pavilion, doesn't it mean he is showing his power over Her?! Would these Officials have respected Our Queen still?! Who knows! He would have even looked down on her for that even after Prince Xavier's presence!".

"Oh!"

Celina gasps in enlightenment.

Sarah nods "I am glad that Prince Xavier appeared in right time and did a right thing!".

Celina whispers looking around secretly "What happened to those men?!".

Sarah smirks and pulls Celina towards the window "Take a look at them yourself!".

Celina laughs seeing them still kneeling at the entrance with their heads bowed. She giggles "Serves them right! For what they have done to our Ma'am!".

Sarah nods and frowns thinking 'Why is Maya taking time to return?'.

Maya enters the Pavilion upset. She doesn't know why she feels like she had to speak to Xavier. Being him in angry with made her at unesae.

"We beg Our Queen's mercy!".

She jerks by the sudden chores and realizes the Officials were still kneeling.

The man too is kneeling without uttering a word.

Maya looks away and speaks "Everyone can raise. You can search everywhere except my chamber".

GASPS!

"Aren't you going to punish us?!".

Maya stepped ahead to walk but stops hearing the man's question. She turns to look at him who is staring at her as if he is trying to find something. She couldn't find the meaning of the look whether he is still arrogant or he is just mocking her.

She smiles faintly "Who am I to punish you?".

Without waiting for him to speak, Maya leaves the place and enters into the Pavilion.

The man was left unpunished and shocked not to mention the crowd of men accompanied him.

As soon as Maya entered her chamber, Sarah whispers pulling her secretly "Why did you permit them to search?! Don't you remember how awful they were previously?! You shouldn't have forgiven them!-".

Maya says calmly "I didn't punish them because they don't deserve it-".

Robin interrupts Maya this time "Please forgive me for interfering Ma'am, but they shouldn't have been left unpunished -".

Maya asks glaring at him "Did you pay respect to me when I came back that day?!".

Robin hangs his head down spellbound. He couldn't answer her as he didn't even asked her about her identity and not to mention they ended up harming her!.

Sarah argues "But they disrespected you!".

Maya asks "Did I punish the soldiers in this Pavilion for that?".

Sarah looks at Maya strangely "No'".

'She should have done it. I too completely forgot to remind her-'.

Maya smiles "Doesn't that mean I am not going to punish anyone?".

Sarah and Robin looks each other puzzled.

Only Sarah opens her mouth in confusion "Why?".

Maya speaks "Because I am an unwanted Queen here Sarah!".
