The Commoner Consort: The Country's Respected Empress

Kalki smirks playfully seeing Xavier's shocked face "You have met her before, haven't you?".

Xavier "…" I knew it! I knew that he would have seen through me!

Kalki leans back wondering "When was it?"

Xavier asks dumbly as he is nervous for unknown reason "When was what?"

Kalki just looks at Xavier strangely as if he is behaving odd.

Xavier gathers his wits back and clears his throat "The next day… after that night of attack".

Kalki frowns and nods subtly processing something in his mind. He wonders "Weren't you on your way to the Southern Country that day?"

Xavier couldn't help get speechless as he is well aware of Kalki's memory!

'Now he would definitely find everything!'.

Kalki stands and sighs loudly. He grabs his sword which he has places on a table and announces "With the drama she created today, I don't think she would be fine in the Royal Palace. Escort her back to the Pavilion".

Saying so, Kalki starts walking away as if he doesn't have time to discuss further about anything. 

"Don't you have something to say?"

Kalki stops hearing Xavier before he turns to go and looks back at Xavier who is staring back with a determined face as if he would find the complete truth behind this marriage drama. 

Kalki asks carelessly "What do I have to say?"

Xavier scoffs "A lot. You have a lot to explain about this 'marriage' of yours. Why don't I find a wedding ring on your finger if you two are really married? Xander, do you want me too to stay in the dark?". 

Kalki smiles mockingly "You aren't in the dark anymore,  are you?".

Xavier asks in disbelief "How could you do this, Xander? And why are you even doing this? I don't think you are doing this for the Emperor-".

Kalki states interrupting him "Father. He is our father, Xavier".

Xavier stops speaking and turns away "He is just The Emperor for me".

Kalki smiles as if understanding Xavier and states "I brought the girl for Father's content. I don't want to impose anything on her just because of Father's edict. The rest is history".

Xavier smiles at ease finally and asks teasingly "Does Our Crown Prince speak these many words with any other person?".

Xavier would become so proud about himself for making Xander to speak more words. Usually Xander never speaks to anyone even if it's necessary.  More than that he is so intimidating that people would never want to speak to him too.

But if Xander shares or speaks something with someone which is the rarest moment of his. But if he does, then it would be Xavier.  Xander doesn't talk much even with his own sister Veronica.  Literally, they never talk. At least not as much as he talks with Xavier. 

Kalki smirks "I won't waste my time by answering that". Saying so, he walks out of Xavier's chamber.

Xavier shakes his head and smiles broadly. His whole mood brightened remembering Kalki's words. He sighs grabbing his favourite Bow "Now I have to escort you to the Pavilion, My Lady!".

He walks towards Emperor's chamber and finds that she didn't came there.

He gets suspicious and goes to Maya's chamber and finds only Sarah greeting him outside the chamber.

Sarah bows respectfully. Before she could greet him, Xavier orders first "Prepare the carriage. Lady Maya would be returning to her Pavilion shortly".

Sarah nods with a frown and blinks confused 'Wasn't she in Imperial Court with them? When did the court adjourn? How is he here...wait!  Did the Imperial Court adjourn this early today?!'.

His suspicion grows and he asks noticing Sarah's face "Is she in her chamber?".

Sarah shakes her head "No, Your Highness. This servant is still waiting for her arrival from the Imperial court".

Xavier frowns and looks at the servants behind him who immediately bowed and ran towards the Imperial court.

When Maya left the ImperialCourt. 

Maya walks behind a servant who is leading her the way. She is still finding difficulty to locate the chambers.

Even though the chambers of the Royal Palace are different from each other visibly, she finds difficulty to find the right way to her chamber as everything is identical and huge.

More than that, she was feeling nervous ever since she stepped out from the Imperial Court. She couldn't believe herself talking the way she did in the Imperial Court. She sighs 'As long as this path could lead me to my 'welfare', I am glad to walk in this path-'.

She frowns when the servant lead her out from the Royal Palace building. She looks at the servant suspiciously and asks "Huh... Are we going in the right path?".

The servant stops and states "I beg your forgiveness for not mentioning before, Your Majesty! Our Emperor asked your presence in the Empress Pavilion".

Maya nods her head and follows him without asking many questions.

She doesn't have to worry when she is in the Royal Palace, does she? After all this place is the well protected place in the whole country unless like her Countryside Pavilion.

She walks looking around the path and marvelling the beauty of the lawn.

'These people really have wonderful mind and skill to create such an architecture! Even though it's quite ...less traditional than the temples in Hindustan... It's really breath-taking! I wonder how grand the Royal Palaces look in Hindustan... It might vary from this building. Would it look like these grand buildings?! I should have tried to see some palaces in Hindustan too! Who knows how grand it would be! Seems I woukd have died as a mere commoner if not for this suddent decision in my life!'.

While looking around the places, Maya realizes  that she reached the doorway of the Empress Pavilion.

At the moment she gets a strange thought and looks at the opening door suspiciously 'Wasn't the Emperor in the sick bed? How could he has come-'.

"My warm greetings to the Sister-in-law!".

Maya blinks seeing Princess Veronica in front of her "..." Why in the world is she here?!
