#235 - The beginning of the multiverse street slicker
As for how to solve Gwen's problem, Yang Le already had an idea in mind. This method was incredibly simple: to live in another universe.
In fact, in the comics, that's exactly what Gwen from Earth-65 did. Earth-65 had enacted a 'Superhero Underage Act,' which completely prohibited superheroes under the age of 21.
Spider-Gwen was naturally one of those prohibited. Under the law, Gwen had no choice but to leave Earth-65. This is also the origin of this multiverse wanderer; it was all out of necessity.
However, in Earth-65B, where Yang Le and the others were, perhaps due to Yang Le's influence, superheroes began to appear in large numbers, and even superhero star companies like those in 'The Boys' emerged.
Moreover, judging from the current trend, unless a malicious case like the Nitro incident really occurred, the 'Superhero Underage Act' was unlikely to appear.
The group chatted for a long time. During this time, Harry and Peter were enthusiastically discussing various superhero matters, while Yang Le and Gwen were just echoing them from the side, as their interest wasn't as strong.
It wasn't until Harry glanced at the time and realized he was about to be late that the conversation finally ended. He had to rush back to help Norman. As Harry grew older, Norman had begun to consciously cultivate him.
Harry was also happy to help. Although he still had schoolwork to attend to, he felt that his father was finally acknowledging him, and he was busy and enjoying it.
Seeing that Harry was about to leave, Peter, not wanting to be a third wheel, also left with Harry. Besides, hitching a ride was a win-win situation.
After Harry and Peter left, Yang Le and Gwen naturally began to clean up the mess. After everything was settled and they were sitting together in the living room watching TV, Yang Le told Gwen the idea he had come up with earlier.
"Gwen," Yang Le called out to the person beside him. Although they were watching a TV show, Gwen's mind was clearly not on the plot.
"Huh? What's wrong?" Gwen's reaction was a beat slow, probably still thinking about what had just happened.
"You don't seem very happy." Yang Le muted the TV. "Still thinking about becoming a big star?"
"Kind of." Gwen tilted her head and leaned on Yang Le's shoulder. "I actually still want to go back to the kind of life I had before."
"On the surface, I was an ordinary student, but secretly, I was a superhero. I studied peacefully during the day and fought crime at night. Although life was a bit tiring, having you by my side to help made me enjoy it, and more importantly…"
"What is it?" Yang Le asked curiously.
Gwen bent her knees and hugged them with her hands, her fair and delicate feet stepping on the soft sofa, sometimes deeply, sometimes lightly, and muttered after a long silence, "I really like the feeling that only you and I know each other's true identities."
That little secret between the two of them intoxicated Gwen. Whenever she thought of it, she couldn't help but feel happy.
"I like it too. It seems we're very compatible." Yang Le said jokingly, and Gwen just rolled her eyes at him.
"Okay, no more joking." Yang Le put away his joking heart and said seriously, "I have an idea, Gwen."
"What?"
"How about going to another universe?" Yang Le touched Gwen's head. "Don't rush to answer, listen to me carefully."
Hearing this, Gwen's mouth, which had just opened, slowly closed, and she put on a listening look.
Yang Le continued, "Now, with Valeria's help, our time-travel technology is very complete. Going to another universe is as simple as taking a bus to another city. So, although it's called time travel, in reality, we're just going to another city to study. We can come back anytime we want. If your dad wants to visit you, it's also very simple."
After listening to Yang Le's words, Gwen fell into thought. To be honest, she was tempted. Going to a familiar yet unfamiliar universe with the person you love, where no one knows you, sounded too cool and too rock and roll.
But Gwen couldn't elope with Yang Le based on her own selfish desires. She had to discuss this with her dad, George, and at least inform him.
And so, Yang Le and Gwen visited George in the evening. By the way, Yang Le also bought George a new house, in the same community. Yang Le had very carefully arranged for George to live in a place not too far and not too close to their home.
Of course, Yang Le didn't tell George that he bought the house, but had Harry tell him that it was provided by Star Company, otherwise this stubborn man would definitely not accept it.
"Wow." George opened the door and pretended to be surprised when he saw the two of them. "I thought it would take you a long time to remember this old guy. You came to see me so quickly, it's really beyond my expectations."
"Dad." Gwen said helplessly. "We're here to see you because we have something important to discuss."
"I have a feeling it's nothing good." George sighed, then stepped aside. "Come in, but let me tell you, your dad has a bad heart, don't scare me."
After the two entered the house and told George about their plan, George showed an 'I knew it' expression.
"I knew you two were up to no good." George folded his arms and sat upright on the sofa.
Gwen hurriedly explained, "Dad, don't think it's too mysterious. Actually, it's no different from living in another city."
"This city is a bit far away."
"Then… another country?"
Looking at Gwen's well-behaved appearance, George couldn't help but laugh.
"Wh… what's wrong?" Gwen looked confused, not understanding why George was laughing.
"I agree." George said with a smile.
"You agree?" Gwen was even more confused, and subconsciously looked at Yang Le beside her, who shook his head to indicate that it had nothing to do with him.
"It has nothing to do with Harby, you should have a little more faith in your dad." George frowned. "Do I look like an old stubborn man? You know, your dad is also a superhero now. I've traveled to other universes too, so I naturally know that what you're saying is true. The main thing is that I'm relieved to have Harby with you."
Actually, the main thing was that George understood Gwen too well. Even if he didn't allow it, this rebellious little girl would secretly leave with Yang Le. Since that was the case, he might as well agree generously, and he could also close the distance with his daughter. If he didn't close the distance, his little cotton-padded jacket would leak air.
"I knew Dad was the best!" Gwen excitedly pounced on George. If it were before, she would have hesitated, after all, Spider-Woman's pounce was no joke. Now, George, after being strengthened, could completely withstand it.
"This old bone of mine can't stand your tossing." George said with a smile. "But you must remember to come home often."
