The Comprehensive Evolution of American Comics
#344 - Threesome
Three days have passed since the disbandment of the Young Justice League. Due to the reckless actions of those kids, Yang Le, who had just landed a decent job, was unemployed once again.
Honestly, when he first heard the news, Yang Le felt like it was April Fool's Day. However, considering it was Batman who called to inform him, Yang Le had no choice but to believe it.
Yang Le was speechless, unsure whether to be happy or sad. Happy that he got a vacation right after receiving a huge paycheck, and sad that this vacation was indefinite.
Although Yang Le didn't think Batman and the others would really turn those kids back into ordinary people, Batman's mention of 'indefinite' still made Yang Le uneasy. After all, Batman's mental state was hard to predict; he might actually make the kids live as ordinary people for a few months.
But thinking about it now was useless, as the situation had already happened, and time travel couldn't be used for such trivial matters. Since he was on vacation, he might as well continue his trip as planned.
So, Yang Le drove off in his beat-up car, leaving all the Young Justice League matters to his mutant clone.
The mutant clone only found out about the original body's departure the next day. To avoid being caught by Cyborg or having Batman discover any clues, Yang Le didn't specifically notify the mutant clone but left a note at Mount Justice saying: 'I went out to play. Contact me if anything happens.'
Although it was a clone, they were essentially the same person. The moment the mutant Yang Le saw the note, he understood Yang Le's intentions. At that moment, he had a thousand words in his heart but could only hold them back.
Initially, the mutant Yang Le had some complaints, but after living in Mount Justice for two days, those emotions disappeared. This was because Mount Justice had complete facilities, not to mention basic living facilities, but also a lot of entertainment facilities.
After all, superheroes are also living beings. They experience a lot of battles in each mission, and these battles will accumulate into pressure little by little. To release this pressure, some entertainment is naturally needed.
Adults have many ways to release pressure: drinking, shopping, parties, going to... ahem, in short, many of them are not suitable for teenagers. Therefore, as the base of the Young Justice League, Mount Justice naturally has many ways for teenagers to de-stress.
Board games, game consoles, computers, all kinds of things almost filled an entire room. Kid Flash Wally was originally looking forward to this room, but he was banned from hero activities before he could even use it once.
And these fun things were naturally accepted by Yang Le, Superboy, and Megan. That's right, and Megan, because she had just arrived on Earth and didn't really have a place to live. She had been living at Martian Manhunter's house before, but Martian Manhunter wanted her to interact more with people her age, and plus, someone needed to watch over Superboy and Yang Le, so this task fell on Megan.
At first, the three of them were a little restrained, mainly Superboy and Megan were a little restrained. Yang Le, besides pretending not to understand at first, was having a lot of fun later on.
These two were completely on par. Megan didn't know how to get along with people other than Martians, and Superboy simply didn't know how to get along with people. It's hard to imagine what would have happened between these two without Yang Le.
Megan was always actively looking for topics, wanting to build a good relationship with Yang Le and the others, but Superboy always responded coldly. As for Yang Le, he was a little tired of Megan's old-fashioned American teen drama style of making friends.
Megan always exaggerated in some places. It was obvious that the actors in the TV series would do that to emphasize their emotions. Fortunately, because Megan's Earth form was very cute, Yang Le felt okay. If it were the protagonist in 'I Am Not Starfire' doing these actions, Yang Le estimated that he would not be able to help but transform into a super giant and shoot a beam of light.
Speaking of Starfire, Yang Le was actually very curious about where this alien princess, who was considered one of the original Robin's official pairings, was now. He didn't know if she would come to Earth in this universe and have a sweet romance with the eldest young master. Yang Le still liked this CP very much, not counting the one in Teen Titans Go!.
By the time Yang Le came back to his senses, the fighting game character he was controlling had already been taken down by Superboy next to him.
"I won," Superboy curled his lips, smug.
"Yeah, you won," Yang Le said helplessly. After teaching Superboy how to play video games, especially fighting games, he had never won against him once.
After all, he was Superman's clone. Even if he only had half Kryptonian genes, it gave him reaction abilities that ordinary people couldn't match. Yang Le in his gene mutation state had no way to compare with him.
Anyone who plays fighting games knows that in a confrontation, you often need to use prediction or bait to break the situation, but Superboy doesn't need these at all. He can react as soon as he sees it, and even half a frame of animation can't escape his eyes.
Yang Le had already let go of the fact that Superboy was playing the game by looking at pixels after two days, but Superboy was not invincible. There was still a big devil above him.
"Then it's my turn again," Megan took the controller from Yang Le and glanced at Superboy, who was facing a formidable enemy.
That's right, the big devil was the Martian girl Megan. Unlike Superboy, who was half Kryptonian, Megan was a complete Martian, and the Martian physique was actually comparable to the Kryptonian one. 1 is greater than 0.5, so Superboy was almost always suppressed by Megan.
At first, Megan would let Superboy win, but later Superboy saw through it and demanded that Megan not hold back, so Megan stopped doing that.
The result of this was that Superboy, who could have gone back and forth with Megan, was directly abused by Megan from morning to night, making Superboy red with anger, and breaking a lot of controllers.
When Megan saw Superboy getting angry, she was very worried at first, but Yang Le, who had been abused by Superboy all morning, didn't mind watching the fun and fully supported Megan to continue. Superboy was also a person who didn't admit defeat, even though his eyes were red with anger, he was still gritting his teeth and shouting for another round.
Seeing this, Megan's desire to please others flared up again, so she kept playing with Superboy until Superboy finally won a round on his own, and this match came to an end.
That was the first time Superboy showed a hearty smile. It was the first time he smiled like a real child, and that smile left a deep mark in Megan's heart.
