#346 - The Lightning Boy of Blue Town
Noisy. That was Yang Le's first impression of Blue Valley Town. This wasn't because Blue Valley Town had falsely advertised itself, but because Yang Le heard the sound of children playing as soon as he entered the town.
Children's laughter, the chirping of birds on the branches, and really no other sounds besides that. Seeing this, Yang Le believed what the brochure said. Blue Valley Town really was a quiet and peaceful town. It would probably be a great place to retire.
Looking at the children playing in the park not far away, Yang Le couldn't help but smile and immediately tapped the steering wheel and said.
"Little broken car, initiate super transformation mode, ice cream truck mode."
"Yes, sir!"
The voice was still composed of various radio channels. As soon as he finished speaking, the living area of the little broken car began to transform. The original small windows turned into a large window, and the stove area became a display window with embedded grooves. With the busy work of a pair of robotic arms, and the efforts of the ice cream machine enhanced by the Transformer, ice cream of various colors filled each groove.
At this time, Yang Le had also changed his clothes. Although he didn't know what clothes an ice cream truck driver should wear, a pure white chef's uniform was never wrong.
"Music," Yang Le snapped his fingers, and the little broken car immediately began playing the standard ice cream truck music.
A child who was still discussing with his friends which superhero was the strongest, immediately looked up after hearing the familiar music engraved in his mind.
"There's an ice cream truck!"
This sentence was like the bugle call when the army launched a charge. All the children in the park stopped their games and began searching for the target.
"Where is it?"
"There! I see it!"
"Quick! I want to be the first to get ice cream!"
Although it was a clear and crisp autumn, it couldn't stop the children's determination to eat sweet and delicious ice cream. Accompanied by the first child running, all the children in the park launched a charge.
Yang Le opened the window and said with a smile, "Don't push, don't run, there's enough for everyone."
Under Yang Le's urging, the children did restrain themselves a little, but they were still chattering. Whether they were discussing with their friends what flavor to buy, or urging Yang Le to hurry up, the combination of all the voices was quite powerful. It was estimated that adults nearby would come to check the situation soon.
"What on earth is going on?" Wally West looked out the window in confusion. Although these children were indeed noisy, they had never been so startled like today.
"Wally, go outside and see what's happening with those kids. Why are they suddenly shouting?"
Wally's mother, Mary West's voice came from the kitchen. It seemed that the children's voices were indeed loud, and even Mary, who was preparing lunch in the kitchen, could hear them.
"Go see if those kids are fighting. If they are, you're responsible for separating them. Remember, you're a big kid now, and a hero. Don't just sit in front of the TV all day."
"Okay, Mom," Wally replied weakly, drooping his head towards the door, muttering something under his breath.
As mentioned before, Wally West was born in Blue Valley Town, which is considered his hometown. As for how he left Central City, a big city, and appeared here, it all started a few days ago.
A few days ago, Batman announced the disbandment of the newly formed Young Justice League. After all their heroic activities were suspended, Wally thought he would return to his boring school life, but he was told by the school that he had been granted a week's vacation.
The reason was that after being suddenly forbidden from being a superhero, and with Batman's harsh words, Flash Barry was afraid that Wally wouldn't be able to handle it, so he applied for a vacation from Wally's school on the grounds that Wally had personally experienced a supervillain incident.
You should know that in the DC universe, supervillains basically come out to cause trouble every two or three days. Just like some special areas have heatwave holidays, the DC universe naturally has holidays for those who have personally experienced super crimes, in order to take care of the people involved.
These kinds of vacations are generally not short, and you can even apply for a month, but Flash only applied for a week due to various considerations. After all, he could be responsible for tutoring Wally's schoolwork, but he couldn't help with other things.
And after Wally's parents heard Barry tell them the whole story, they also wanted to reprimand Wally, but Barry stopped them all. Wally did need guidance, but definitely not now, after all, Batman had just finished talking about him not long ago.
Finally, the adults discussed it and decided that if he continued to stay in Central City during the vacation, he would inevitably run into the Rogues who were out for team building. At that time, Wally might feel sympathetic, so it would be better to take Wally back to his old home, Blue Valley Town, to spend the seven-day vacation there.
In this way, although he was a bit emo because his heroic activities were forbidden, Wally, who was only reflecting on his mistakes, got a seven-day vacation in a daze, and returned to his old home, Blue Valley Town, in a daze.
Wally was very excited about returning to his old home at first, but like many children, after this excitement passed, Wally was only left with boredom.
This is normal. It's not yet the holidays, and Wally's playmates and other peers haven't returned to Blue Valley Town. There are only some little kids in the town who are even younger than him. There's no way Wally could play with them.
After browsing the various scenery of Blue Valley Town and driving all over the roads of Blue Valley Town, the Flash Kid, who was used to the fast life, could only feel bored. Wally was also very helpless about this. He was afraid of this kind of thing happening, so he didn't use the Speed Force when he was visiting Blue Valley Town.
But even so, he only persisted for two days. On the third day, he began to stay at home watching TV. He once again regretted why he didn't bring his game console. Now he could only waste his time watching various programs on TV, and then wait for Uncle Barry to finish his day's work to tutor him.
This kind of life is simply torture for a teenager his age!
Sighing, Wally put on his coat, opened the door and walked outside. An old lady walking her dog outside the door dispelled his thoughts of using the Speed Force.
"Good afternoon, Grandma Peggy," Wally waved and greeted.
"Hello, little Wally," Grandma Peggy pushed up her glasses, and then recognized the person who was greeting her.
"Do you know what happened?" Wally asked respectfully. "I heard a group of children making noise."
