#348 - If Lu Guangtou has no conspiracy, then the clown can be rated as a three-good citizen
Courtney reluctantly agreed to Wally's request and followed the boy to the ice cream truck. She had been thinking about how to strike up a conversation with the girl, but when Wally saw the owner of the ice cream truck, all the topics he had been preparing vanished.
"Mr. Yang!" Wally looked at Yang Le in front of him in shock.
Yang Le waved with a smile and said, "Oh, it's Wally. I didn't expect to run into you here."
"No, why are you here?" Wally gesticulated wildly. In his mind, Yang Le was also a member of the Justice League. How could he be in Blue Valley, this remote and poor town, buying ice cream?
'Could there be something big happening in Blue Valley?' Wally, whose mind worked extremely fast, was prone to wild thoughts. Seeing Wally's expression become more and more serious, Yang Le guessed that he was starting to overthink again.
"Stop." Yang Le knocked Wally on the head with a clothes drying pole, and the latter stopped his wild thoughts in pain.
"I'm just here for tourism, and to earn some living expenses by the way. There's nothing special going on."
"I see." Wally rubbed the spot where he was hit. It was then that Courtney found a chance to interject.
"Wally, do you two know each other?"
"Oh." Wally then remembered that there was someone else beside him. After all, Yang Le's appearance had been too shocking.
"Courtney, let me introduce you. This is Mr. Yang Le, who is kind of my, um…"
Seeing Wally stuck, Yang Le had to step in and smooth things over, saying, "Teacher, responsible for guiding some of his extracurricular activities."
"Yes, that's right, teacher." Wally immediately seized the opportunity, but Wally's expression was still too strange. Courtney wasn't stupid and had already noticed it, but because their relationship wasn't that close, at most just ordinary friends, she didn't say much.
"Mr. Yang, this is Courtney Whitman, one of my childhood playmates."
Seeing that Courtney didn't seem to care about Yang Le's identity, Wally breathed a sigh of relief, and then told Yang Le the girl's name. After hearing the girl's name, Yang Le couldn't help but raise his eyebrows, but no one noticed.
Courtney Whitman, this name was not unfamiliar to Yang Le. Not long ago, Yang Le's mind was still thinking about her. This girl, whose eyebrows always held hidden little emotions, was another superhero born in Blue Valley—Stargirl.
It's just that Yang Le didn't know if the girl in front of him had inherited the legacy of the previous Star-Spangled Kid, that iconic Star Scepter and Star Belt.
"How about it, you two, want to try my hidden menu?" Yang Le winked. "You know, I usually don't show it to just anyone. Today, I'm making an exception for Wally's sake."
"Really? Then two, please." Wally held up two fingers and then turned to look at Courtney. "Is that okay?"
"As long as you're paying, then it's fine." Courtney rolled her eyes, speechless at Wally's behavior of asking her only after he had already made a decision.
They didn't have to wait long. After all, making ice drinks doesn't take much time. Yang Le quickly brought out two glass cups filled with a transparent liquid, with bubbles constantly rising to the top. The cup also held a scoop of ice cream, and a slice of lemon was stuck on the rim.
"Isn't this just ordinary ice cream soda?" Courtney was speechless, and Wally was also at a loss for words. He made it sound so amazing, but only brought out this.
"And it's in glass cups, so we can't take it home to drink." Wally sighed, but Yang Le didn't care.
"If you can't take it away, then drink it here." Yang Le pointed to the side, where there was a small round table and three chairs.
"Were those things there before?" Courtney said in confusion. Wally, however, broke out in a cold sweat. As someone in the know, he knew that all of this must be the work of the little broken car.
Sure enough, when Wally looked at the little broken car, the other party also cooperated and gave a thumbs up with its mechanical hand, but quickly retracted it, so Courtney didn't notice.
"Come on, you two."
While the two were lost in thought, Yang Le had already placed the ice drinks on the table and waved to them. Seeing this, the two had no choice but to walk over.
"I still wanted to go home to watch TV shows." Wally sighed as soon as he sat down. Yang Le stretched out his finger and knocked Wally on the head like Father knocking Jackie.
"Ouch!" Wally couldn't help but cry out in pain. This one hurt much more than before, causing him to complain. "What was that for?"
"Just think of it as spending time with your childhood playmate." Yang Le glanced at Courtney. "She probably doesn't want to go home so early."
Wally couldn't help but mutter in a low voice, "What does her not wanting to go back have to do with me?"
"Pa!"
Wally covered his head and stopped talking. He didn't know who Yang Le learned it from, but how could there be such a painful way to hit someone?
"Thank you." Courtney thanked softly, holding the ice drink with both hands and sipping it through the straw.
Even if Wally was stupid, he could tell that something was wrong at this time, and asked out of kindness, "What's wrong, Courtney? Did something happen? Tell me, and I'll help you solve it."
Courtney rolled her eyes at Wally and said, "It's nothing. I just don't want to go home for the time being."
Seeing that Courtney didn't want to say, Wally had no choice, but to avoid the awkwardness, he thought of the previous topic.
"By the way, Courtney, since you didn't leave Blue Valley, where exactly are you going to school? I don't remember Blue Valley having a middle school, or did you drop out?"
"You're the one who dropped out." Courtney felt that she had rolled her eyes more today than she had in the past combined.
"Blue Valley just established a middle school not long ago, and I go to school there. Don't tell me you don't know anything about your hometown?"
Wally didn't speak. After moving to Central City, he really didn't care about his old home anymore.
Courtney sighed and continued, "Blue Valley's Lex Middle School was established two years ago and completed a few months ago. I transferred there a little over a month ago."
"Really? Ahaha." Wally scratched his head, using laughter to hide his embarrassment.
Unlike Wally, Yang Le keenly captured the key point from Courtney's words just now.
"Lex Middle School?" Yang Le raised his eyebrows.
"Yes." Courtney looked at Yang Le strangely. "Lex Luthor invested in it, so of course it's named after him. Don't those rich bigwigs like to do these things? What's so strange about it?"
If it were someone else, Yang Le probably wouldn't care, but if that person was Lex Luthor, then there must be some unspeakable secret inside, otherwise it would be letting down Yang Le for watching DC for so long.
If Baldy Lu has no conspiracy, then the Joker can be rated as a good citizen, the Batman Who Laughs has no plan, Barbatos doesn't love bats, and Perpetua fixed the Source Wall.
If Baldy Lu has no conspiracy, then I, Yang Le, will eat the little broken car on the spot!
