#422 - Rooftop conversation
Of course, Yang Le and Gwen wouldn't obediently stand by and watch the Stark family's domestic drama. Since their date was ruined, they might as well seize the remaining time.
"Where are we going now?" Gwen stood on the edge of a skyscraper's roof, overlooking the ant-like traffic below. "Speaking of which, it's been almost four months since I've seen a view like this. It turns out I haven't been Ghost-Spider for so long."
"This place is pretty good, you can take in the most beautiful night view of the city." Yang Le, who had turned back into a human, stood beside Gwen. "Sometimes it feels nice to just be together quietly like this."
"You're right." Gwen took a step forward, standing as if on flat ground on the building's facade perpendicular to the ground, then turned around, leaving the noisy ground behind.
"Um, I probably can't see the view you're seeing now." Yang Le looked awkwardly at Gwen's back.
"Don't you have the Omnitrix?" Gwen turned around and looked at Yang Le, who was at a 90-degree angle to her, puzzled. "Can't you just transform into an alien hero who can climb walls?"
"Give me a break, Gwen." Yang Le said with a headache. "I'd rather spend the rare time we have together with you in my original form."
"Hmph." Gwen looked at Yang Le playfully, and when she saw him becoming a little uncomfortable under her gaze, she suddenly opened her arms. "Then let me help you."
"You mean… okay." Yang Le understood Gwen's intention. Although he felt a little nervous, he pretended to be calm and stepped off the edge.
First, he felt the pull of gravity. Even though he knew nothing would happen, the actual experience still made Yang Le's adrenaline surge. Fortunately, Gwen caught him a second later, otherwise Yang Le might have couldn't help but slam the Omnitrix.
"How does it feel?" Gwen smiled and looked at Yang Le, who was a little dazed in her arms.
"Too exciting." Yang Le swallowed. "Honestly, I feel like my heart is about to jump out."
Gwen chuckled twice, then freed her right hand and shot two strands of spider silk at the wall, wrapping them around Yang Le's waist as a safety rope, and finally sat on the wall with Yang Le in her arms.
"It really is different." Yang Le looked at the bustling ground. This was the first time he had experienced such a dangerous act in a normal human state. Both the scenery in front of him and the physical sensations were novel experiences for him.
"So you can show that kind of expression too." Gwen teased.
Yang Le was a little speechless and said, "I'm just a normal person, Gwen. It's normal to feel nervous when jumping down from such a high place."
"I know." Gwen pressed her head tightly against Yang Le's chest, listening to his heartbeat, which was obviously faster than usual. "I'm just used to seeing your omnipotent side, and I can't help but feel novel when I see you like that for the first time."
"You're the only one who can see me like this." Yang Le tried to calm his heartbeat. He knew very well why his heart was racing. Although he had already shown his fear, he still subconsciously tried to cover it up.
"Remember to hold on tight to me, I'm just an ordinary person now."
"Understood, Mr. Omnipotent."
…
"Good morning, Gwen!"
"Good morning, Katie."
Looking at her energetic friend, Gwen, who was already in a good mood, couldn't help but smile. It seemed like today would be a good day.
"You seem to be in a good mood. What? Did your boyfriend give you a gift?" Katie asked with a gossipy expression.
Katie, who was almost inseparable from Gwen at school, knew about Yang Le and Gwen's relationship. In fact, almost everyone in their grade knew about it.
It started when Gwen first transferred to the school. With her outstanding appearance, she attracted many people to pursue her. To avoid unnecessary trouble, Gwen had to publicly announce the fact that she had a boyfriend.
But even so, there was still a small group of people who insisted that this boyfriend was just a shield that Gwen had made up, and continued to pursue Gwen relentlessly. Gwen chose to ignore these people, and over time, she finally became clean.
However, most people still thought that Gwen's boyfriend was made up, but Katie, who was almost inseparable from Gwen, knew some inside information, because she had seen Gwen looking at her phone with a smile on her face several times.
Katie could guarantee that only when chatting with someone she liked could she show such an expression.
"More or less. We went on a date yesterday." Gwen said with a smile, unconsciously adding a bit of a boastful tone.
"That's great." Katie pouted enviously, then consciously changed the subject.
"By the way, Gwen, have you heard? Last night, Xue Xi encountered a terrorist attack when she was holding a concert at the Stark Stadium."
"Really?" Gwen pretended to be surprised, but couldn't help but slander in her heart. 'Not only do I know, but I was there yesterday, and not only that, but it was my boyfriend and I who defeated the terrorists.'
"Of course it's true. Tony Stark himself posted about it on Twitter." Katie's expression was exaggerated, as if she had experienced it herself. "He said that the terrorists went to capture him, but their plan didn't succeed. Two new masked vigilantes appeared on the scene and worked with him to drive away the terrorists."

"It seems that rich people don't have it easy either." Hidden rich woman Gwen said.
"Fortunately, Xue Xi herself wasn't harmed." Katie put her hands together. "I just don't know if it will affect her transfer, but thinking about it, if I were to experience a terrorist attack first when I first arrived in a country, I might never come to that country again."
"Damn terrorists." Katie said angrily.
…
"Pa!"
A crisp slapping sound, followed by a rustling of papers, a yellow-shirted man with an arm encased in plaster stood in the center of the room, around him were papers that had already fallen to the ground and papers that had not yet fallen to the ground.
"I've told you many times, George!" A middle-aged man in a white coat came out from behind his desk and walked straight to the yellow-shirted man, poking his finger on the other's shoulder.
"We AIM have greater goals, not a violent gang for you to fight with others. I know you have a feud with Howard Stark, but you shouldn't impose your personal grievances on the organization."
"Tell me, how much damage have you caused to the organization this time?" The middle-aged man spat, gnashing his teeth as he looked at the subordinate in front of him.
"Two whole 'Coconut Crabs', two whole units! The organization has just successfully developed a total of five units in stock, and you've gotten rid of two of them in one go!"
