#573 - Black Dwarf vs Martian Manhunter
"I think we should go back and think of other ways," Star-Lord scratched his butt. "It's too dangerous to just hang around here."
Strange was momentarily speechless. He really didn't expect such a large building to be invisible to everyone. Just as he was considering whether to pull Star-Lord and the others directly into the building, Yang Le spoke.
"Magic is a very mysterious thing," Yang Le floated in front of everyone. "Those who are not qualified cannot see its true face."
"Are you saying there's really something here, but we're not qualified to see it?" Gamora looked suspiciously at the ruins in front of her.
"Then what do we do? Are we just going to let that kid go in by himself?" Rocket pointed to Strange. "He doesn't seem reliable at all."
The Sanctum Sanctorum is the residence of the Sorcerer Supreme. In the comics, it's generally depicted as a three-story Victorian-style building, but in reality, the internal space of the Sanctum is much larger than it appears.
Most people who enter for the first time without guidance will get lost in the labyrinthine interior of the Sanctum. If it's really just Strange alone, he might not be able to find the key for a while.
Of course, if the Ancient One has arranged everything in advance, then disregard what he said. But generally speaking, more people means more power, and there are many magical items in the Sanctum that can be useful in the current situation.
For example, materials to forge a suitable weapon for Thor. Yang Le doesn't believe there's no Uru metal in the Sanctum. If that doesn't work, he can melt down a few magical weapons; anyway, Yang Le won't be held accountable.
But after saying all this, to take the next step, they must first enter the Sanctum. Coincidentally, Yang Le really has a way to solve the problem of not being able to see the Sanctum.
"Relax your minds, don't resist," Yang Le gently said. Before the others could react, they only felt a blur before their eyes, and then they saw a beautiful building.
"Oh my god," Rocket's mouth widened. "That kid was telling the truth?"
"You can see it?" Strange shook his head. "I told you I wasn't lying."
"Such a large building was standing right in front of us, but we couldn't see it all along," Gamora exclaimed. "Magic is truly a magical thing."
"I still don't get it," Star-Lord looked puzzled. "How did we suddenly see it?"
Everyone turned their gaze to Yang Le again. It was after he said that sentence that everyone suddenly could see the Sanctum. Clearly, all of this was his doing.
Yang Le slowly said, "I created a shared mental channel. Normally, you still wouldn't be able to see the Sanctum. What you're seeing is just the Sanctum that Strange sees."
Everyone nodded as if they understood, although they really wanted to know the detailed steps, now was clearly not the time to dwell on these small matters. They still had serious business to accomplish.
The group cautiously approached the Sanctum Sanctorum. Facing a magical building, everyone except Yang Le was experiencing this for the first time. Faced with this mysterious and unfamiliar thing, they couldn't help but be careful.
Seeing everyone looking as if they were facing a formidable enemy, Yang Le couldn't help but find it amusing. Just as he was about to float into the Sanctum first, Yang Le's expression suddenly changed as if he had discovered something.
The others didn't feel it, but Yang Le had discovered it early on. An invisible mental probe was rapidly approaching them. This probe was very fast. If the Martian wasn't particularly sensitive to these things, Yang Le wouldn't have been able to detect it before it arrived.
A powerful mind reader was searching for something. Faced with this crucial information, Yang Le immediately thought of Thanos, but then he rejected the idea.
The reason for suspecting Thanos was that this mental energy was very powerful and unscrupulous. The reason for rejecting it was that although it was strong, it didn't reach the level of Thanos wielding the Mind Stone.
It should be a mind reader under Thanos's command. Combining these key pieces of information, Yang Le quickly guessed the other party's identity: the fifth member of the Black Order who didn't appear in the movie—Proxima Midnight.
It seems the plot has indeed changed completely, but now is not the time to dwell on these small matters. The probe was about to enter Bleecker Street. If she detected the search team, it would prematurely attract Thanos, which would be bad.
Having made up his mind, Yang Le transmitted a warning to the rest of the team through telepathy. He then tapped his toes on the ground and instantly flew to the street entrance, while releasing his mental energy, creating the illusion of wanting to resist the other party.
Soon, the two energies clashed head-on. Proxima Midnight, far away on Queen Street, immediately felt the collision. She smiled evilly and hummed softly.
"Found them."
Instantly, all the Outriders in New York received information from Proxima Midnight. After an information reception lasting no more than a second, the densely packed, ant-like Outriders scrambled towards Bleecker Street.
Under the moonlight, the ruined city of New York instantly became a scene of demons dancing, like a parade of a hundred ghosts.
"Bang!"
Black Dwarf crushed the rock under his feet with one step and snorted disdainfully. He took a big stride, and after a short run-up, he stomped out with a bang.
"Boom!"
The already rugged earth instantly cracked, and many slow-running Outriders were affected, but Black Dwarf didn't care about these renewable resources. He then used the power to destroy the earth to take off, and in the blink of an eye, Black Dwarf crossed several blocks.
"Haa!"
Lifting the giant axe in his hand, Black Dwarf held the axe with both hands, his whole body like a crescent moon, stretching his body in the air. After rising to the highest point, he looked down at the Martian Manhunter, who was as small as an ant, and fell down.
It was more like a smash than a chop. Like a comet hitting the earth, Black Dwarf slammed heavily towards the Martian Manhunter!
The Martian Manhunter raised his arms, unexpectedly neither dodging nor avoiding, waiting for Black Dwarf to smash towards him with a force of a thousand pounds, as if to compete with the other party.
Finally, they collided.
"Boom!"
The earth cracked, the air wailed, and the ground shook for a moment. The entrance of Bleecker Street instantly turned into nothing, and a crater with a radius of hundreds of meters was created centered on the two colliding!
"Unexpectedly…"
A voice broke through the smoke first. Storm, who was one step slower, blew away the smoke, and Black Dwarf was also surprised to see the Martian Manhunter's arms constantly popping out sparks.
"Can't split it open?"
"Not enough force," Yang Le smiled contemptuously. The arms that were just as hard as iron were now wriggling like mud, and instantly turned into two scimitars with serrated edges.
"I'll show you what real power is."
