#760 - The Origin of Fear All-Realm United Army
Laufey sat in his cell with an air of composure. Since Loki's departure, no one had come to see him. Although Laufey enjoyed the peace and quiet, no visitors meant he couldn't get any information from the outside world.
Despite Laufey's seemingly relaxed exterior, he was actually quite uncertain. He didn't know if Malekith's plan would work, and he might end up dying there for nothing.
"Tap! Tap! Tap!"
Rapid footsteps approached. Laufey opened his eyes and looked towards the cell door, wanting to see who was coming so he could choose the best way to deal with them.
Looking up, Laufey saw Thor walking towards him, covered in dust. He was about to greet his opponent when he realized the latter was even more agitated than he was.
Thor placed a hand on the metal bars, each as thick as a wrist. With a grating sound, the seemingly unbreakable bars were forcibly reshaped like putty and tossed aside.
Breaking the barrier between them, Thor strode up to Laufey, grabbed him by the neck, and pinned him against the wall.
Feeling the pressure on his neck, Laufey couldn't utter a word, no matter how much he wanted to.
"What did you say to my sister?"
Thor's face was as dark as a stormy sky. Small electric currents ran over his body, and his eyes were filled with angry lightning. It was the first time Laufey had ever seen him so furious.
Feeling the pressure on his neck lessen, Laufey seized the opportunity to speak. "Just… a simple… conversation between… a long-separated father… and daughter."
Due to the pressure, Laufey's words were not only strangely intoned but also oddly punctuated. But no one would find it funny at that moment.
"Lies!"
"Boom!"
Thunder echoed through the prison beneath Asgard. Thor's long golden hair floated in the air, and the Asgardian God of Thunder suppressed his rage.
"You incited her, made her steal things from Odin's vault!"
Thor unconsciously increased the pressure on his hand. Even Laufey had to resist, but it was in vain. The injured Laufey had no chance against the furious Thor.
"You're not worthy to be her father. How dare you let her embrace the devil!"
Thor flung Laufey against the nearby wall. With the force of the throw, Laufey crashed through three prison cells before stopping.
Laufey, already somewhat deprived of oxygen, was now even more dazed. What was going on? How did touching the Casket of Ancient Winters equate to embracing the devil? Was Mephisto involved?
"Tell me," Thor said, now holding Mjolnir. "What's your purpose in awakening the Serpent? How did you know Loki was worthy of the hammer?"
These words stunned Laufey. What Thor said was completely beyond his expectations. Even Malekith couldn't have imagined things would develop this way.
Seeing Laufey's silence, Thor became even angrier. His heart felt like it was being burned, and he was on the verge of losing his mind.
Raising Mjolnir, Thor decided to break Laufey's limbs first, to see if the giant would still be so stubborn.
"Stop, Thor!"
An aged voice stopped Thor. Turning around, he saw his father, Odin, with Frigga, Yang Le, and some Asgardian guards behind him.
"Mistreating prisoners is not something a warrior should do."
Faced with Odin's reprimand, Thor felt rebellious for the first time. He clenched his fist and argued his case.
"But Father, Loki is missing. We must find her as soon as possible to save her."
"That's not your concern."
Odin's words made Thor's breath catch in his throat. Fortunately, he immediately explained.
"The most important thing now is to defeat the Serpent. Once the Serpent is defeated, Loki will naturally recover, and all problems will be solved."
"Then we should interrogate this bastard even more," Thor said, pointing at Laufey at his feet.
"Interrogation is useless," Odin shook his head. "Didn't you see his expression, Thor? This is all beyond his expectations. Although it's developing in a good direction for him, Laufey clearly doesn't know where things are headed either."
Thor gritted his teeth and looked at the giant at his feet, saying, "I don't trust this damn giant."
Odin didn't rush to refute his son's words but instead turned his gaze to Laufey, who looked like a defeated dog.
"Tell me, what were you originally trying to do? I think you have no need to hide anything now, do you?"
"Haha!" Laufey suddenly laughed. "You're right. This is indeed completely different from our original plan. Who would have thought everything would go so smoothly!"

"No wonder we couldn't find that hammer for nearly a thousand years. It turns out you old codger, Odin, hid it. But now it's cheap for us!"
Watching Laufey laugh triumphantly, Odin's expression remained unchanged as he continued to ask.
"You? How many people have you allied with, Laufey? No, you don't have the brains for this. Whether it's forming alliances, pretending to be captured, or sowing discord, these schemes are beyond your capabilities."
"It's Malekith, isn't it?" Frigga said coldly. "Only that madman could come up with such disgusting schemes. To be selling your life for someone like that, you've fallen, Laufey."
"We are partners," Laufey corrected. "And our team is much bigger than you think."
"What can a rabble accomplish by gathering together?" Thor raised his hammer, arcs of electricity running across it. "None of you can defeat me, not even if you all come at me together."
"Try to figure out how to deal with your inescapable doom first, Thunder God~" Laufey deliberately mocked Thor, clearly trying to anger him. But with Odin and Frigga present, Thor couldn't lose control.
"More than we thought?" Yang Le stroked his chin. "So it's not just Jotunheim and Svartalfheim. Let me guess—is Muspelheim involved too?"
Laufey raised his eyes and said, "Since when is a Midgardian allowed to speak here?"
"Even a dog can bark a few times, what's wrong with a person saying a few words?" Yang Le immediately retorted rudely.
"If we were on the battlefield, I would have cleaved you in two, insect!"
Laufey was clearly triggered by Yang Le. In his mind, Midgardians had always been weak. Although some powerful Midgardians had captured him, Laufey's capture was all to complete the plan, and he had been weakened significantly.
Therefore, even now, he still looked down on humans.
