#792 - Siege of Sind
“I have never seen anything like you.”
Cinder plunged her sword into the ground, resting her hands on the hilt, watching the ice wraiths before her with ease.
“Clearly, you are not creatures that should naturally exist in this world? Which freak created you? Or did you sneak over from some other dimension?”
Faced with the Flame Queen's questioning, the ice wraiths appeared very angry, because Cinder's words were an insult to their birth mother.
After all, they were born from Yang Le in her ice wraith state, and raised by Yang Le in her Supreme Celestial state. In this way, Cinder insulted Yang Le twice.
“Impudent fool!” The white ice wraith's tone became even colder, coupled with her ethereal voice, making it sound like a passing cold wind.
“You have insulted our mother! We will make you pay with the honor of the Nakfergi!”
“Oh!” Cinder smirked, amused.
“Then I shall wait and see.”
As soon as the words fell, Cinder pressed her hands down fiercely, and the scorching power transmitted along the hilt to the blade, straight into the ground. The fiery flames instantly melted the area within a radius of one kilometer centered on her, and continued to spread outwards.
In the blink of an eye, the hard ground turned into lava. This indiscriminate attack engulfed the surrounding lava monsters and human soldiers who were fighting. Even the steel chariots turned into molten iron, let alone mortal bodies.
The lava formed too quickly, and the temperature of the flames was too high. Humans didn't even have time to scream before turning into charcoal in the face of such temperatures.
The ice wraiths had already flown into the sky to avoid Cinder's attack. This wasn't because they were afraid of this level of temperature, but because they wanted to save those fragile humans.
The ice wraiths were already very fast, but in their urgency, they only had time to save the people around them, at most one in each hand. Although they saved some people, most still died.
“Get your people out of here!” The white ice wraith shouted to the soldier she was holding.
“The following battle is beyond your ability to intervene, and we have no time to care about you!”
“Yes… yes!” The soldier subconsciously saluted, and was then taken away by the ice wraiths who came to meet him.
Excluding the ice wraiths who were escorting people, there were a total of ten left to stop the Flame Queen from advancing. They were all the best among Yang Le's children, the ten strongest in this batch.
They would be responsible for holding back Cinder's advance until the remaining ice wraiths assisted the humans in evacuating the battlefield.
Cinder still had that easy-going look. She pulled out her flame sword, carried it on her shoulder, and swaggered towards the ice wraiths.
“Breath!”
With a command from the white ice wraith, all ten ice wraiths, including him, took a deep breath, and exhaled after their chests swelled to an extremely exaggerated extent.
The breath exhaled by ten ice wraiths gathered together covered a very wide area, almost covering all the lava monsters in front of them. The flames on these constantly burning monsters were extinguished the moment they came into contact with the breath.
The flames were extinguished, and the lava flowing on their bodies was solidified. The original orange-red high-temperature creatures turned into gray-white ice sculptures in the blink of an eye.
Cinder's flame army was being cleaned up at a speed visible to the naked eye, and Cinder, who was also in the ice breath, rarely felt a hint of coolness.
Of course, this level of low temperature couldn't hurt her, but the fact that her soldiers were being rapidly eliminated made her feel humiliated, so she raised her giant sword high.
“Roar!”
The battlefield was changing rapidly. The monsters that had just died came back to life again. Relying on their master's power, the monsters looked fiercer than before, probably because the queen had injected energy into them.
The resurrected monsters were much stronger than before, and even had the ability to resist the ice wraiths' breath. They roared and charged towards the enemy with the weapons in their hands.
Cinder raised her right hand, and a wisp of flame that had just emerged from her hand was thrown to the ground.
The shattered flames fled in all directions, carrying a lot of ash in the process. These ashes slowly turned orange-red under the scorching heat of the flames.
With flames as the skeleton and organs, and ashes as the skin, a lava dragon roared and awakened at Cinder's feet.
The first thing the dragon did after waking up was to spew flames forward. The thick pillar of fire almost solidified into a solid body, threatening the ice wraiths in front.
Faced with this situation, the white ice wraith took the lead. He spread his wings and touched the flames with his back. As his body rotated like a ballet dancer, the scorching flames were all bounced away by him.
Cinder was a little surprised. She didn't expect that the beautiful and thin wings would have such high strength. Even some Asgardians couldn't withstand the high temperature just now.
The white ice wraith's charge was like a starting gun. The remaining nine ice wraiths also launched their attacks. Some became ethereal, some breathed, and some released weak freezing beams with their hands.
With Cinder's strengthening, this group of monsters, which could have been easily dealt with, became slightly more difficult to handle, but cannon fodder is always cannon fodder. In front of the ice wraiths who inherently restrained them, they couldn't make any big waves after all.
Cinder also obviously realized this. Heat and cold inherently restrain each other. It was obvious that these low-level soldiers, unless they underwent qualitative changes, could not bring her satisfactory results.
However, if she wanted to make these cannon fodder undergo qualitative changes, she would inevitably waste a lot of her energy, so it would be better for her to come up herself.
Having made up her mind, Cinder grabbed the flames burning on the dragon's body as reins, and charged towards the ice wraiths with her sword in one hand.
Surprisingly, the huge dragon actually possessed speed that did not match its size, turning into a stream of light and arriving in front of an ice wraith in the blink of an eye.
Cinder raised her giant sword and slashed at the ice wraith, who had no time to dodge and could only choose to become ethereal to avoid it.
The constantly burning blade brushed past the ice wraith's body. This was the first time that this sword, which had followed Cinder for countless days and nights, had failed to achieve any merit after being swung.
“Interesting ability.” Cinder praised.
“It looks like the illusion of mages, but I have been feeling the space fluctuating since just now. It seems that besides blowing some cold wind, you should also have some spatial abilities.”
